  • This is going to be a quick short video about a very common problem, and that problem is the touchpad, or what many people also call a trackpad suddenly stops functioning despite your keyboard working just fine. In my case this mostly happens after I resume my system from suspension or when I wake my computer from hibernation. But this phenomena also occurs for no reason at all in many cases. This video was recorded n Ubuntu Linux, but the fix should work for all distros out there. This video looks at a simple yet effective and reliable way of fixing an unresponsive touchpad.

for those LENOVO users facing the "lower volume button problem" wile pressing "Alt +F2", go on settings > keyboard > view and customize shortcuts > search for "run command". There you go

Pressing ALT and then F2 does nothing for me... Please, help! I can move around on the touchpad but the click option doesn't work at all.

Do you have the British layout keyboard? In which case you'd have to press the function(Fn) key before F2.

Hello, the touchpad buttons on my Vaio computer don't work. My Ubuntu is 20.04. The touchpad works only the click buttons do not work. Before Ubuntu Debian was installed and everything was working normally. I've tried alt + Fn and it didn't work. Can someone help me?

Unfortunately not. I am still waiting for some linux update to make the touch-screen catch on waio I have to use a mouse. But I found that if I click on the touch-screen with two fingers together I can trigger the right mouse button.

@@nateciaaraujo4667 I managed to fix the touchpad. I downloaded the "Gnome Tweaks" application, went to "mouse and keyboard", and selected the "fingers" option. After that, I restarted the computer, and everything went back to work.
