1. There expenses ratio are less
2. It's better to invest them are smaller proportion compared to nifty 50
For example: 100ruppes
50 ruppes on nifty 50
30 ruppes on nifty next 50
20 ruppes on small cap or gold etf
That's a good proportion of diversification

Boosan, Which fund is better Nifty 50 or Sensex? I could see the Sensex fund giving litter more returns compared to the Nifty 50 index fund.
There isn’t a huge difference between returns of Nifty & Sensex if you take a longer investment horizon.
You shouldn’t worry a much about Nifty or Sensex, the performance of an index fund depends on its tracking error, expense ratio, and AUM size. If you are investing for the long haul, you may choose any one of it, as both are good.
Boosan, I've checked UTI nifty index fund in Zerodhan Coin where it is asking initial investment of 5,000 rs and SIP min of 1000, where as in Groww no initial investment and SIP starting amount is same as Zerodhan. Can you explain why zerodha coin asking 5000 as initial investment.
AFAIK, Minimum investment is imposed on fund level not at trading platform level, if you check UTI website the minimum investment for this fund is ₹5,000

Yes, Index funds can be used for tax harvesting. If tax harvesting done right, it will not affect compounding, but you should also be mindful that tracking your investment returns will not be straight forward after tax harvesting.

Honestly, no one really knows.
All we can do is a guess work, my guess here is Nifty vs Next 50 would give more or less the same returns with a minuscule of difference.

Sethupathi is right, it is recommended for all the individual investors to invest in INDEX funds and keep learning about market to be ready for individual stock picking. If Mutual Fund Managers, who are experts in Stock analysis, and rebalancing themselves could not beat Index on long term - It doesn't even make sense to look beyond index for retail investors. However I am can make a series on Stock Investing for beginners, if there is enough interest in the topic.
