Feel like any January deals are pointless until we have a new manager and know the style we want to play going forward. But knowing the board it will be these players, this manager, and these tactics until the summer 😪
Kudus is top class when he's fully switched on. But I never felt he was going to be with us long term, regardless of manager. As for Paqueta, we know he would have gone long ago if it hadn't been for the charges. The days of desperately wanting a player to stay are over.
Selling Kudus is mental!!!!! Why are the club not doing more to reassure him we are going to get rid of J-Lo and bring in someone decent? Oh yeah, that's right, Sullivan won't do that, so let's sell our best fookin players! 😤😤😤 This club drives me insane at times
Stelios, I have never understood why we've ever sent senior players out on loan. And I know in most cases their wages, or an element of it is picked up by the loaning club. However, no senior player ever comes back worth more after the loan period, so if a player is surplus to requirements then sell them.
Senior players going out on loan usually means that the current manager : head coach doesn’t believe they can deliver… did Lopetegui get it right by loaning out JWP and Cornet? Both aren’t getting a look in at their respective loan clubs
The model of the technical director buying the player’s for the coach to organise, select and manage doesn’t apply in our scenario of Sullivan buying, Steidten buying and of course Lopetegui’s picks, and as such any new recruits and move on’s in January can’t apply. The player’s mentioned are for the model we expected under Steidten, not the circus we achieved, and we don’t know who will be our coach in January, so who can we expect to be gone, or arrive at the squad going forward. And if we did, by miracle, have another change in January, would we allow the coach time to implement a new group of player’s into the PL, what expectations would we allow?
I think the process has been somewhat misinterpreted .. perhaps deliberately I have no doubt Lopetegui will have wanted some players in. Natural for a head coach to do that I also don’t doubt Sullivan will have had agents whispering in his ear about player availability … but what I imagine Sullivan has then done is to give the details to steidten to discuss with Lopetegui - if they agree then the player is purchased - Summerville case in point However, I do question some of Steidten’s signings with Fullkrug and Guilherme being the main two
Ah… I didn’t say it hasn’t worked out but in order to give him that chance then perhaps a loan move where he gets regular game time might be the best option for him If, however, he’s deemed surplus to requirements then make used as a makeshift to bring in a striker could be the alternative answer But I agree with you, he hasn’t been given a chance to demonstrate his worth
When Steidten arrived , I thought the days of spending stupid money on suspect or 'past their best by date' players were over but sadly we are back to square one. Fullkrug, Ings , JWP and Gullherme (who I've not seen play yet, so jury still out) seem to be £80-90m down the drain.
I thought exactly the same mate so it was disappointing to now see that our transfer business was as scattergun under steidten as it has been in previous years
No way I want Guilherme to go, I think he could be a great player in the next couple of years but typically because he is not a regular then he must be no good. Tim bought him and he must have seen something special then in Tim I trust.

Hi Stel. 2 managers got the boot over the weekend. These things tend to come in 3. It could be rout on us by the Cherries with Loppy axed on the way home? However, I’m still going for a sneaky smash and grab win for us hammers. I also still believe in Father Christmas 😂🤔⚒️
If we get absolutely trounced by Bournemouth then I expect it to be difficult for Lopetegui to stay on A win will be a stay of execution A win and good performance will mean he stays for the long term
