Todd, thanks so much for watching bud! I hope all is well my friend! Fun fact: I ALWAYS replace power supplies with new ones because of you. Got to have that reliable , clean power!
Nice looking machine. Is actually anyone reconstructing CRT monitors in USA? I bet someone should be in Vegas, just because they do much of neon lights there. To reconstruct a CRT you need to work with high voltages and to cut and weld glass, exactly what they do with neon lights. By the 90’s in my city use to be a company doing that reconstruction job to get back to life CRT tubes, I think is important somebody today keeping that trade and attend demand from restorers wide world as manufacturing of new tubes is absolutely discontinued.
Very cool, man! You always seem to have more machines in waiting as a subtle pass-by in frame. You tease. Great game and hidden gem in the retro space. I always end up playing this one longer than I expect. Can’t wait for some Final Fight content. 💪
At the start of the video, when you are facing directly at the camera, the video is really dim. You may need to tell your video editor to increase the brightness. But great video otherwise!
There's really just KLOV and it's far from perfect. I usually ask Todd Tuckey since he was buying all these games back in the day. So he's got a lot of the historical information in his head. Thanks so much for watching!
Another example of why I'm a heathen and would just swap CRTs for LCDs by default.... Except I'm not ACTUALLY a heathen because the main reason I would do that is to maximize the number in circulation to keep light gun cabs running. :P Seriously, though, if someone like Unico would just install scanline options on the hardware level(its more than possible) you'd only a need a bubble cover like what New Wave Toys has recently started doing to get enough of the CRT feel to be worth it for most games. As for Food Fight, I had that back on my 7800 as well. Fun game. And I didn't even know it was originally an arcade game until I started getting into this scene about five or six years ago. Shows how much I missed not having BIG arcades in my vicinity as a kid.
I hear you man, I wish someone would come out with something with reallly believable scanline options and like you said some kind of cover to simulate curvature. I don't think I would be opposed to LCDs if they could truly recreate "the look" of a CRT. Hopefully one day, but for now it's just rolling up the sleeves and fixing them as they break. They just always seem to break on me at the worst times... LOL. Anyhow, thanks so mich for the comment and thank you so much for watching!
It probably won’t shock u to know I’m a big fan of this game. Glad u got an instant replay- was surprised it wasn’t after level 4 when u had the lengthy run. Great vid bud. I’m jealous. Oh snd try to bring some food with u to the next screen. 😎
I'm excited for that, is there any screenshots or video of it at all? I thought it was coming to the VCS but I assume now it will be steam and other platforms as well. If you have any information , I would love to check it out. Thanks so much for watching!
I’m so jealous mate that’s such a cool addition to your collection. The cabinet is so colourful and so gorgeous it’s what Atari does best. The game also is so much fun I just wish one would come up for sale in the uk I’d be all over it. Absolutely stunning 😎👍
Thanks bud, I hope to one day come to your neck of the woods and see all the awesome games that you have! Thanks so much for watching brother, it means a lot!
The arcade version plays well on Atari 50th with the Steam Deck analog stick. I really like the 7800 version to. The artwork looks fantastic and I love it. The thing I like about Food Fight is the random spawn of every each level, etc. Really enjoyed this one. I see the Buck Hunter Realoaded there. 😀😀😀
Sorry Ralph but I had nominated you for Matt's Off Road Recovery's challenge. I hope they pick you. It would be a blast to watch them mess with you. Also, you may want to check out Sam's Arcade. He recently rebuilt a joystick that looks like yours with new parts.
Great game and played a lot in the arcade and on my 7800. Funny that I just saw Broken Arcade pick up a Food Fight as well. Ya'll can keep the originals. My nostalgia wants the cabs, but I sure don't want to service them, hold storage for parts, etc. I stick to emulation, but bow to those who keep these treasures alive!
Holy grails are subjective... never seen a food fight. Intresting joystick setup. Not your standard Happ setup. Back in the day of bbsing there was an online game called food fight. That was always my favorite next to pimp wars and tradewars. Still like to know how the jamma mister setup works.
Back in the 80’s I had a strategy guide that included this game and I really wanted to play it, but over my entire childhood I only saw the cabinet ONCE, and only had time to play it once. Years later I fell in love with it via emulator. It’s kinda obscure but so underrated, and I’m so happy it finally got some appreciation in the Atari 50th Anniversary collection.
I worked at General Computer for 2 years in the early 80s. My husband (then boyfriend) used to wait for me in the small game room and his favorite game was Food fight. Good times.
Those chefs don't want Charlie to get diabetes from all of that ice cream. And they're pissed at him because he's throwing all the healthy food at them. You see, Charlie is the bad guy in Food Fight. Just a selfish ice cream junkie.
great pick up brother! question did you ever get smartypi installed in your afterburner stand up? I'm having a graphics issue with mine, and looking like that's the only way to go for me too. was curious to see how set up went and game play. take care.
I used to play the hell out of food fight in my local bowling alley . The one there was absolutely beat to you know what , cigarette burns and all 😂 Nice find Ralph !
Was there ever a version of FF that had a trackball instead of a stick? I feel like I played that at some point. The character would keep running in the direction the ball was spun even when it stopped spinning.
Curious about one thing. At about 5:30 you mention that the further you move the joystick one way or another, the faster you run. Is this actually true?
Unwatchable? That’s a little dramatic but OK, I had a few Issues with the ISO settings on my B camera. It happens, I strive for the best quality I can. I’m aware I had some issues on this one, I will fix them in the next video. Thanks for watching. 👍🏻
Super impressive find! Knowing what they were going for and the rarity, I'd have assumed it was unattainable...but I'm not Retro Ralph! I never saw one in the wild back in the day. Probably only played on 7800. Mark me down as someone else who'd love to see the Godzilla mods. Keep 'em coming!
Thanks for watching my friend, the next video will for sure be the Godzilla mods video. I actually have one more mod coming, so maybe I will include an installation of that as part of the video. Thanks again for watching bud!
Yeah my ISO was a bit messed up on both cameras but sometimes you have to roll with it. I tried to clean it up a little but one was cranked too high and one was cranked too low. It happens , thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Can't wait to see what you have done with your Godzilla! Just helped a buddy move his GZ Pro into his house on Halloween..such a great game.. That afterburner is a monster of a machine too can't imagine having to move that game.. The JP shooter with the 32 screen is probably the heaviest game I have ever owned ..and although I liked the game I was happy to see it go so I didn't have to move it anymore!
What a great find. None at Expo this year. Would love to have one of these but for now, I'm settling for my New Wave Toys and Legends Ultimate versions. On a side note, would you care to share a link to the lighting mod you have on your Godzilla speakers?
Oooh this is indeed a great pickup. Played the piss out of this at Spanky's back in the day. It's got such great panel and cabinet art. Just a hugely fun game. I've got the mini arcade going in the real arcade with all the New Wave Toys minis. They're fun. You seem refreshed Ralphy boy, glad you found it. Godzilla is a great pin man I can't wait to see more.
Congrats! That's a fun game and great cabinet artwork. How did you find an afterburner cockpit? That's a dream game for me. What are they selling for these days?
Another addition to the future of Ralph’s Arcade. You’re one of the few people that will overcome any issue. Wild Joystick! Before Joy con drift there was 5200 crapstick! Congrats on another Holy Grail! Time to rent a space and become an arcade owner and Kim can stop sleeping in the tub and your son can return from Summer Camp 2016😂
I had this for my atari 7800 too. Absolutely loved this game. I only found out this past year it was an actual arcade game. I just assumed it was made for console only.
What a killer pick up! Great game to bring into your home arcade.
Under appreciated game...first arcade game to run on a 68,000 Processor...so it could run the instant replay!
Todd, thanks so much for watching bud! I hope all is well my friend! Fun fact: I ALWAYS replace power supplies with new ones because of you. Got to have that reliable , clean power!
Godzilla ... you did not do a review about it 😳?
Love it how you show that you needed to replace the monitor 😅
I haven't made a review video on Godzilla, I should at some point. Thanks for watching my friend, I hope all is well bud. Miss you brother!
Such a great game! So underrated. Played it a lot as a kid st my local arcade.
That's awesome! I loved playing it on the 7800 but nothing compares to the real deal. Thanks so much for watching bud!
@@RetroRalph yes the 7800 version was a very good home port.
Good choice.
I bought a food fight for 4,700 at captains auction 2 years ago
Congrats, it's a great game!
Red baron used the same joystick
Nice looking machine.

I don't remember this one, thank you for sharing! Your home arcade is badass. Are you going to install a Pixelcade LCD marquee on the Rec Room master?
Very cool, man! You always seem to have more machines in waiting as a subtle pass-by in frame. You tease. Great game and hidden gem in the retro space. I always end up playing this one longer than I expect. Can’t wait for some Final Fight content. 💪
Hey bud, awesome seeing you in the comments man! I will no doubt have some Final Fight content coming! :-) Thanks for watching bud!
At the start of the video, when you are facing directly at the camera, the video is really dim. You may need to tell your video editor to increase the brightness. But great video otherwise!
2,000 made? Great pick up bro! Is there a database of arcade games and how many were produced? That would be interesting.
There's really just KLOV and it's far from perfect. I usually ask Todd Tuckey since he was buying all these games back in the day. So he's got a lot of the historical information in his head. Thanks so much for watching!
@@RetroRalphyou really should compile that data before it's lost.

Room is looking a kinda bare 🤔 Windows are overrated

Will do, thanks watching, it much apreciated!
Ralph, a great pickup and one to be proud of. I wish I had one in my collection, but I can't complain with the games I have.
Keep it up!
Thanks bud, I appreciate it.
The new online multiplayer remake of Atari Foodfight is almost ready. Beta testing has been happening since last spring.
I'm excited for that, is there any screenshots or video of it at all? I thought it was coming to the VCS but I assume now it will be steam and other platforms as well. If you have any information , I would love to check it out. Thanks so much for watching!

Thanks for the post love old arcade games 😀😀
Of course, just trying to keep the dream alive!

Me too, thanks so much for watching! Godzilla is up next :-)
I want that Robotron2084

There's supposed to be a 4-player simultaneous cocktail version coming to arcades.
I worked at General Computer for 2 years in the early 80s. My husband (then boyfriend) used to wait for me in the small game room and his favorite game was Food fight.
Good times.
Wow! Excellent condition. Local arcade use to have it. Probably still there as many games from the 80's have just been left there.
Still have my First Love the 7800
My Daughters & I Love playing Food Fight
Definitely an overpriced game, I would love one but $4000 is way too much.😅 would rather have a nice pinball
Those chefs don't want Charlie to get diabetes from all of that ice cream. And they're pissed at him because he's throwing all the healthy food at them. You see, Charlie is the bad guy in Food Fight. Just a selfish ice cream junkie.

Nice pickup! The garage is starting to look like an arcade.... If you disregard the giant After Burner 😅
Awesome Food Fight, totally jealous. Your set up has come a long way since back in the day. Keep up the good work!
I used to play the hell out of food fight in my local bowling alley . The one there was absolutely beat to you know what , cigarette burns and all 😂 Nice find Ralph !

That is a gorgeous cab! The art is in great condition. I wonder if there was a problem with the stripe shirt, because it looks like Dennis the Menace?
Great video and great game. I'm looking forward to seeing your Godzilla mods. I have 7 on mine and just ordered 4 more.
Nicely Done Ralph. Not my cup of tea for a game especially for the Price. But I am sure it will last longer now that is has you as the owner. :)
That art is fantastic. I love how they cut the cabinet around the pie at the top.
Curious about one thing. At about 5:30 you mention that the further you move the joystick one way or another, the faster you run. Is this actually true?
Loverly that is. Your so lucky in America, you have all the good stuff ❤
Where does he have room for all this? Ralph is as much a crazy fanboy as Kong.
That stick looks like one of the first ever analogue sticks before they got refined over the years.
Sweet pickup bro! will this one be lucky enough to end up in the game room?
Ralf have you learned wood working i have some water damaged games?
Food Fight looks great!
a price of $4,000 is the price that you say when you dont want to sell
Awesome pickup man 👍👍. Awesome to see old cabs get a new life..
It's starting to look kind of crowded in the garage, Rafa.
The cabinet art is absolutely gorgeous on this machine,.
I wish i could have gotten food fight from new wave❤😊
i play this on the Artari i played on a single game for 6 hours thats a record
What's wrong with the cameras? Dark, light, dark, light, dark
Totally unwatchable

Kanti, what's up bud! Thanks so much for watching! I'm for sure excited to have it in the collection! I hope all is well brother!
Gameplay is like robotron but on a minty level 😊
Well done Ralph, this is the kind of thing we love to see!!
Jealous of that Godzilla! Great game!
Youve got robotron, wow i love that game !!
What’s up Ralph’s boy!!
Dark video with the head on camera?
Yeah my ISO was a bit messed up on both cameras but sometimes you have to roll with it. I tried to clean it up a little but one was cranked too high and one was cranked too low. It happens , thanks for watching 🙏🏻
No problem. FF is one of my favorites as well. One of my go to machines when I went to those birthday parties at Chuck E. Cheese!
Cool get buit over-rated game
