Godzilla destroys Ralph's wallet! 🔥🦖
😂😂😂😂
Congrats on the new game Ralph. You can’t go wrong with either version of the game.
That red armor pops so well on this machine. It looks great
the armor popped off the game? that's not good...
That whole machine is just stunning to look at. I immediately had pinball envy lol
congrats Ralph!! I love the black n white version!!
Thanks brother!
DUUUUUDE, I was in line for the COLOR Premium re-release Stern told all their distros was coming in July … then THIS drops & me & four other buyers PASSED on it.
It’s a ball-camouflager.
Now we gotta wait till NEXT YEAR to get the color ones. 🤦♂️ Distro was PISSST! “I can’t get rid a these,” he said.
Glad YOU dig it! ✌️😅
OMG really? Do you know how many he has? I would have thought it would have been a big hit.
@@RetroRalph This was just after release of the 70th; he has me & 3-4 others locked in for the color premiums. (He lent me an AIQ Premium till they come out, which was nice! 🤷♂️).
Did Chris & Cece sell out already?? 😯
@@RetroRalph I heard on a TPN podcast that some color GZ premiums will be coming out in January. So, just go with your gut 70th or color. Personally, I prefer to buy on the used market, which means color GZ for a long time to come.
CONGRATULATIONS ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉!!!!!! ENJOY!!! 🎉❤
Thanks brother!
Reach out to Stern and see about getting a replacement board with the correct leds ...sae they were having that issue and wrinkled side art.. love the choice if powdercoating in yours. It's a beautiful machine!
Thanks brother, I didn't have any of the artwork issues but it would be nice to have the translite look more white than sepia. I'm going to reach out and see what they say about it.
@RetroRalph I know Cary Hardy said he had reached out to George Gomez about the issue..so maybe your distributor can get the boards swapped out for cool white. I wondered if you had the artwork issue, being you live in a pretty hot climate.
I inspected the heck out of the cabinet and I didn't have any of the artwork issues thankfully.
@RetroRalph That's great to hear, that is a bit more work to correct any of those type issues as compared to swapping out boards with the correct LEDs
I would not want to have to apply new side art on a new pin, that would suck.
That is my dream pinball machine
Good lord that’s beautiful. I’m so jealous and I’m not even a real pinball collector.
Thanks brother! I really appreciate you watching!
Volume mod a must. Should just come standard.
I think so too, it's kinda nice to play with the headphones. You also pick up things in the game soundtrack you don't always hear through the speakers. Plus being able to adjust the volume without opening the coin door is also a nice convenience.
Hey Ralph, you may have seen this, but the folks at LERMODS do a real nice (and inexpensive) LED panel in cool white that fixes that translite sepia tone look. I got one for this and my Elvira BRK, and the difference is quite noticeable. Just wanted to pass along the info. Enjoy the pin!
Dude, you're a lifesaver, thank you so much! I ordered it... you're the best man, I really appreciate the heads up!
Great video Ralph! I know a lot of ppl are not a fan of the black and red series but I think it's sexy! Thumbs up to all your mods as well.
Thanks brother, mods are so fun and they add a little something special to your game IMO. Thanks again for watching!
Ralph, it looks great. Congrats! That was a fast change!
I have a nice premium color version and it's not going anywhere. Love Godzilla!
Godzilla really is the best B&W or Color, it doesn't matter because it's freaking Godzilla!!! haha
@RetroRalph it is. Yours is gorgeous. I know why you must love it so much. Your additions are all tasteful and look fantastic!
I mentioned to you a few years back that the pin sickness is real. Now you know! :)
The kicker 5.25 or alpine s series 5.25 blow the kenwoods out of the water. The 5x7s are even better, but you have to source the mounting plate.
I'm about to boost this puppy with some Pinwoffer gear very soon so stay tuned!
Ugh I’m so jealous! That’s my favorite pinball of all time right there!
I agree... It really is a special game, the theme integration is some of the best ever IMO. I hope all is well brother!
@@RetroRalph can’t complain! Other than wishing I had more space for Godzilla! 🤣
Your vocabulary regarding colors and tone is quite impressive. I think I need to hang out in the paint section of the hardware store more. 🤣
Awesome video! Congrats on the pin.
If you want the 201 color tone course, please let me know. LMAO! Thanks for watching brother and always supporting me and the channel :-)
Shoot more gameplay on this beauty, please. I am building up my excitement to get one. Tasteful armor color upgrade, Ralph. I'm with the other guy, do black flipper buttons on the red side armor. Is there a menu setting also render the gameplay video in black and white? Subbed.
Thanks for subscribing, I really appreciate it! I'm 100% going to do the black buttons, I think that will look great, I appreciate the suggestion man! I "might" do a livestream of it this weekend actually so keep an eye out. Thanks again!
Congratulations on the 70th. Excellent choice in the powdercoating. I'm incredibly lazy and wouldn't want to deal with the hinges.
Still standing by when you're ready to punt Food Fight.
Thanks bro, I really admire your persistance on Food Fight, if you keep it up, it just might be for sale. ;-) Question is, I have no idea what it would be worth at this point.
@@RetroRalph, that's the real question. Throw it in your checked baggage and we can negotiate next month.
I would try black flipper buttons to give it some contrast. Game looks great.
That's a great idea man, thanks for watching brother, excited to see you at Expo man!
Yeah. I agree. Without the powder coating, red buttons on black pops. With the red armor, black, grey, or white becomes your possibilities. There is some grey/white accents nearby in the artwork, so those might work instead of black. I know you have every color of button... I'd dry fit all and see which looks best.
Following you here for many years it's awesome to see how your arcade place turned into a pinball heaven.
This is not for me don't have the space for the massive machines.
Do like to do this in the future with including older machines from Balley or Gottlieb.
That would be EPIC Wicked! I wish I had more space and money, I would love to have a few older 90's pinball machines too.
Looks great, Ralph! I always love how Mason makes his presence known even if he's not on screen (B&W editing!).
For the sepia thing, the easiest way my eyes ‘see’ it (in pictures at least) is to compare the effective white balance of the translite and compare it to the playfield. I think the translite white balance matching the playfield matters more than it being sepia or not. Check in a dark room so your room lighting isn't affecting it. Maybe take a picture of the whole machine and zoom in and compare (enhance!). Oh... you possibly could swap a CPU Node 0 board from one game to the other (keep both SD cards with the game), but I'd only do that as a last resort if Stern isn't taking care of you.
If you haven’t yet, check out Token Taverns, everyone!
Thanks brother, it's weird because in some lighting conditions in looks more white and in others it looks more sepia toned. Also, what's interesting is if you take a quick photo with say an iphone, it will almost enhance the Sepia tone and I think that's the auto white balance just not adjusting correctly. So it makes it look worse in pictures IMO than it does to the naked eye.
@@RetroRalph Good point. I think you're right that the phone is doing its own post processing to adjust things. Maybe better to focus on what you see in person and ignore what pictures are doing. Daylight will be different than your house lighting. The ambient lighting conditions will influence things so I'd think assessing it in a dark room is best. Either warm or cool white is fine, but a mix of both will look weird. The backlighting not matching the GI bulbs would drive me nuts. How do the CPU board LEDs look when you have the translite off? Do they feel bluer or yellower? Put the game into Diagnostics and have the GI on for comparison. Good luck Ralph!
Super nice Ralphie! Love the color of the legs, pause lmao
LOL...Thanks brother!
Black and Tan version, nice!
Thumbs up for the editing on this. Did you come out pretty even selling your color to fund this one?
I knew it! I knew you could not resist getting the b/w version. 😂
You know me all too well my friend... haha.
Love it!
Yeah Ralph that black and white is it!
Yeah Baby!!! Thanks for watching!
This needs mirror blades more than any other pin! 🤘
Hmmmm, I wasn't thinking about that but I think that might be pretty badass actually.
@@RetroRalph With all that chrome & SILVER?? 😮💨😮💨😮💨 Omg, it’ll look TITZ!!! 😅👌
@@Mo_Ketchups, you almost have me hitting purchase, haha. I'm sure the deal will be sealed in a few hours, haha. Thanks for the idea! You don't feel the mirror blades distract you, do you?
@@RetroRalph Nooooooo way!!! It’ll _most_ realistically expand the periphery of that WORLD under glass! Now I’ve got MYSELF wondering if I should just take the 70th!! 👀😅🤟
You’ll blow MINDS when you reveal it!! 😮💨🫵✌️
@@Mo_Ketchupsjust bought some for mine can’t wait the red lights on the sides will be so awesome reflecting
I would of gave you actually full price that you paid for that modded Godzilla if I had known you were selling it! I am not a stickler if someone takes something and adds a bit of wow behind it! The secret is it can always be changed back providing what was done to it! Hopefully you didn't take a loss!
Same here 😂
I should have your number on speed dial... LOL.
That game looks beautiful. Me wanty
Thanks brother, she's a beauty!
I think I like the black and white color tone, but it might be difficult to see what is going on on the playfield.
Very cool, my dude!
It’s now 100% official Ralph has crossed over to a pinball guy! I would think your mods actually add value 🤷🏻
It does add value but I guess what I meant to say is, don't expect a dollar for dollar return on that if you sell a machine. I think there was a time where that was more the case but in the current economic climate, not so much. I kinda came into the hobby just about when Pinball stopped holding it's value as much. It still does to an extent but you use to be able to sell a machine for what you paid for it or more in some cases if it was a popular LE version. At this point, that's not true but I'm sure the market will correct itself at some point. As far as being a pinball guy, I will wear that proudly. It happened over time but at this point, I'm all-in. Question is, will I continue to collect arcade games, I'm still trying to figure out what that looks like.
@@RetroRalph people who don’t play pinball don’t realize how much skill goes into playing. I can remember the first Pong being rolled in to our pinball parlor (took hours for someone brave enough to plunk in a quarter). For me keeping a ball in play for an hour beats defeating the toughest boss and what’s better than hearing the insanely loud click when you hit the free game score?
I like what you do as I think the same way with these pins!
Thanks brother, I feel like modding these to make improvements and make them your own, is a really cool part of this hobby. And there's also a cool sense of accomplishment aspect of it when you're finished. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment!
Congratulations you really loved it when you were playing it here in Atlanta.
Thanks bro, I hope all is well man!
Should've powder coated the coin door
Translucent flipper bats, translucent rubbers, black leg bolts, clear flipper buttons. Cheap mods that make it pop.
Great ideas, thanks for taking the time to comment, I do have the black leg bolts out of that list. I heard some games are shipping with silver, mine were all black as I believe was intended by stern. I'm wondering how many went out with silver instead.
We have approved your 17" black and white TV swap also :)
LOL... thank you :-)
Hey Ralph there is another mod for you !!! Put the Led Screen on black and white !!!!!😂
Nice video. Where did you find the red mirror rectangle backing for the 70th nameplate? I found the speaker kit with red mirror on pinball life but not the nameplate. Thanks
Sorry about that, I just updated the video notes, they should be in there now. Please let me know if they don't show up.
WOW! The powder coat looks really good! That’s how this thing should have came from the factory. Stern needs to throw away that GZ toy the thing looks cross eyed! 🤣🤣 Did you ever look on the sides of the cabinet? People are also having wrong screws and some of the screws messed up the artwork. Who knows if any of this stuff is real or just a few of them. Love the game and what you’ve done to it!
Thanks man! No issues with the artwork for me (well other than the sepia tone on the translite) ... my bolts were black as I believe was intended by Stern. I'm not sure what's up with that but hopefully that's something they can figure out through distribution partners. Thanks again for watching and for taking the time to comment!
Nice!
No pinball machine makes financial sense, enjoy life!!! I’m seriously thinking about pulling the trigger on this pin my only problem I want too many other old pins 😂
I feel like you're an enabler and I kinda love it... LOL
I suggest "sunlight" grade LEDs for the translite. Comet sells them.
The lights are built into the board, you can not change them.
As the other person mentioned, the LEDs are part of the CPU board on the right and left sides so you can't swap them out unfortunately.
@@RetroRalph I watched a video of someone who put tape over the CPU board lights and uses cool/warm white LED strip in there to demonstrate the difference... They might have used and RGB strip and had something that flashed the backbox red every once in awhile. Great for demonstration, but I wouldn't be happy with that as a solution.
I'm sure the whole 'problem' with the CPU board is that they put warm white instead of cool white SMDs on the board. It'd be fine, except they used cool white bulbs on the playfield.
I was going to totally trash you but..... I just did the same thing! We have issues!!!!
LOL... I couldn't help myself. On a side note and I'm going to mention this on my next podcast. My 70th shoots so much better than my color version. No idea why but it's so much smoother than my OG Godzilla. Did you notice that at all?
Awesome man 👍👍
be careful with that side art..it scratches super easy
Thanks for the tip brother! I hope all is well man!
Props to you but i love the color version! i would never choose black and white over the color :D.
I realize it's not for everyone but I just fell in love with it and well, that's how we got here... LOL
That’s a big screw up by stern with the BB lightning. Sorry
Swap the mpu. Easy change. He has other spike systems.
I don't want to be that guy that just "accepts" when something is wrong but it doesn't bother me much. At first I thought, it was supposed to be like that. It does look better with a more natural white light vs. the yellowish sepia tone so I may reach out to Stern and see what the solution is. I have heard they have sent out CPU boards with different LEDs to several people but that's just me reading things on Pinside. I'm not sure if that's the official fix from Stern or not.
@@RetroRalph Similar to when you hear something about a movie or show and they ou only see that.
where is the token tavern link?
Please re-check the video description, it should be there now. Sorry about that…
@@RetroRalph you the man thank you
Awesome man, sorry I forgot to include it so I appreciate you letting me know brother!
@@RetroRalph We all make mistakes. The difference is there are few which correct them.
What a great movie. Thank you
No! I hate the B&W versions of pins. I love color!!! If you like it, cool. Not for me.
For sure not for everyone but I couldn't help but fall in love with it... thanks so much for watching!
i will keep my Godzilla Pro thank you very much! 1/100th of the problems of a prem/LE/70th and in Color :)
you buy an $11,000 dollar machine and spend more money to change it, WTF is wrong with people?
I’m glad you’re happy with your pro, I like the GZ Pro as well. Not sure what problems you’re referring to but I have had minimal issues with my GZ pins.
As far as modding machines, people enjoy making it their own and mods let them to that. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Im about to get a red and white but im keeping my color version. Where did you get the quiet fan power supply from ? 👍🏻 looks great
