Travelled that line many times in the 50s and 60s. Grandfolks lived at Warracknabeal and after getting off the Adelaide train from Melbourne; we'd get on the DERM that was waiting in the dock at Murtoa. Warracknabeal rail yards were a hive of activity especially at harvest time and I was a regular visitor (pest?) there whenever in town. Grandfather knew a Guard (Bluey Diamond) and was fortunate to have many rides in the Z vans ... and occasional trips in Loco cabs. Magnificent times for a young kid. Many thanks for the video
Just finished the whole journey track in reasonable condition,no doubt due to the grain traffic it gets, alot of disused silos ,guess they centralise it to just a handfull, one of the states more remoter lines
Yes it is all stitched together to show the trip in one go. There are people that like the long versions just like the people that like the shorter ones. Something for everyone. 👍😀
Great video! Looking forward to seeing more of them 🎉
Very happy you enjoyed it 👍 😀
We are enjoying your videos. We often leaving them running on the TV as background scenes. Much better viewing than most of what the TV channels show.
Relaxing tv in the background 🙂 Very happy you are enjoying them 👍🙂

It does see a bit of grain traffic centralised into a few points these days. Glad you enjoyed it 👍 😀
Is this standard gauge? Was it a special charter?
That is correct. Standard gauge charter for the Seymour heritage centre. 👍😀
Were you driving a special or just driving diesels
This was a special heritage passenger train on a weekend excursion. 👍😀
good work. still perplexed why more interest in this train than the big yellow bird.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍 😀
I'm about half hour in, but this van and other cars have been following u up the straight. You got a TV crew following you or something? 🤨😯
Just people very enthusiastic about the train 😀👍
Are you speed restricted other videos you put up show you going around 100k
This line is a branch line with a lower speed. 50kph is the maximum along here
@@driver667 thankyou for your reply l will subscribe
@@robertbarker2458 thank you. Hope you enjoy them all 👍😀
Why 3 hrs long?!
i think it is stitched together - all the sections being as one. Pretty good effort. If not i stand corrected
Because that's how long it took for the trip between Murtoa and Hopetoun. You could watch it at 2x speed if you like.
