I like to freeze my tofu and after it is thawed, I press it. This gives it even more texture for my faux chicken recipes. Thank you, I may give your way a try to compare!
Yeah - I often do the same - so if you combine that method AND this it's even better! Thanks for sharing your tips!
I am so hungry after catching up with your recent videos. I want tofu, cookie cake, pie, you name it, right now. LOL.
Sorry! And also - not sorry - get cookin'! :)
Nice approach! I don't own an air fryer so usually I grate the entire block and season it before going to the oven, low temp. Then if I want it extra crispy I can sautée the whole mix for a couple minutes.
I looooove grating it and baking it in the oven. The air fryer is just a bit quicker but the oven works great too! Thanks Camilo!
My approach to tofu is similar to yours; I cook the $hit out of it & then toss it in sauce! Popcorn tofu is my favorite!!!
Hahahaha - this made me laugh. Do you have a popcorn tofu recipe?
Looked crunchier… like breading on photo?
Not breading, just different seasonings, etc... it can get that crunchy in the air fryer! Give it a shot :)
@@pbwithjeremy I’ll definitely make it… super easy… my style of cooking. Thanks!
@@cj2467 No prob!
Looks great! Btw, there IS a use for medium firm tofu. Check out Mary's Test Kitchen's video where she freezes and thaws medium frozen tofu twice and then turns it into incredible chick'n nuggets. I've made it a few times and it's fantastic. I do mine in the oven on a silicon baking sheet to avoid frying it in oil as the recipe calls for. ua-cam.com/video/bhJHnXgS6TU/v-deo.html
Thanks for the tip! I'm still reluctant. I've managed to make pretty decent nuggets with firm - but because you're awesome maybe I'll give this a try!
@@pbwithjeremy as someone who LOVES extra firm tofu and was skeptical of medium firm tofu too, I highly recommend you give Mary's recipe a try. It produces a chick'n that's SUPER tender and has a really unique texture from the freezing and defrosting two times. It creates almost like layers/strands in the tofu. In a good way.
Oh - the nerd in me can't NOT try it. THank you again!!!
