      Thanks! O yeah, and it was fun to film and edit something different! I have a feeling this channel will become a mixture of riding and van vlogging etc so I can get some variety in my editing life 🙏🤘

      Hell yeah! I've put 5000 miles on this rack , on 1 lane highways with semi trucks blasting past and so far its still in place 🤞🤘 only slightly annoying thing is remembering to pump the seasucker pads b4 every highway drive but totally worth having my boards 🤙

    A few questions, please…. 1) It’s been a year. Are you 100% confident that the suction cups will remain in place even at high speeds and driving on rough roads?
    2) Has the strut material started rusting?
    3) Did you use stainless steel bolts, etc.?
    Thanks!

      Sorry I missed your comment! It's been even longer now and the suction cups are still sticky! Even at the beggining it's good to repump them whenever you stop for gas.
      I was scared driving through Texas cause the roads are only 2 lanes and giant 18 wheelers are doing 90mph passing ... the boards and cups held on!
      It even got hit by a car in a parking lot at an Eastern Sierra hot springs and held up fine. No rust of any significance. Thanks for asking, much appreciated!

      Sorry to bother you with another question, but is there anyway to lock these suction cups in place so the racks and boards can’t be stolen?

    • @RamblinRoverMatt
      @RamblinRoverMatt  6 місяців тому +1

      @joeblow1942 No worries! They can't lock and I suppose even if they could someone could cut the straps holding the boards in.
      I got something called "Fin box locks" that enable you to use a small cable lock. And I locked that to the rack through one of the holes in the strut 👌
      PS Did you ever sell that trimaran?

      @@RamblinRoverMatt. Thanks again! No, haven’t sold my trimaran yet. Took if off the market for a while but just started listing it again.

    that's cool, but you're obstructing the left side mirror view with the boards on. which is dangerous and I believe in most countries illegal. Make sure you check the highway codes in the country you visit!

    • @RamblinRoverMatt
      @RamblinRoverMatt  6 місяців тому +1

      Thanks! It's partially blocked but fine. I've driven 30,000 miles without incident 👌

    hell yeah. this is exactly what i needed. is this the suspenz rack? any issues with it since install?

    • @RamblinRoverMatt
      @RamblinRoverMatt  Рік тому

      Nice! Yeah suspenz rack and sea sucker suction cups. It's still goin strong after 8k miles or so. I got a bigger surf board and fitting 2 is a little tight now so I might add a second set of suspenz racks 🤙

    Hello! We are building something similar this week!
    Did you ever feel like they sticking out to much or anything? We are planing to mount the hooks a little bit higher, but I want to know if you ever felt like the hooks pointed out to much at the side? Don’t want it to be scetchy when driving around!
    Thanks! (Sorry for bad eng.. hope you understand🙏🏻)

    • @RamblinRoverMatt
      @RamblinRoverMatt  Рік тому

      No problem. I understand fine, good job 🙌 They stick out just as far as the side view mirror more or less. So they aren't sticking out too far but do block some view of that side through the mirror. You can still see enough though lol
      I noticed this comment is 2 weeks old. Sorry for the delay. But did you build it yet? Wondering how it came out for you 🤙
