Keter High store review and how to assemble

- In this video I review the Keter high store, this is perfect for outdoor storage and can easily be assembled by two people in about an hour (I did it in three hours on my own, including filming). This really is a great solution for storing items outside and because it is made from Duotech so it will never require painting, although you can paint the panels if you wish.

I have two of these sheds. The first one I assembled just like the video. Found that it was a little tricky putting the handles on the doors since I was doing it by myself. The second I completely assembled the doors, including the handles before attaching the doors to the main part of the shed. Much easier assembly.

Excellent and clear video, thank you. I have difficulty kneeling and stooping, and the video helped me to see how I could do some sub-assembling beforehand to minimise the kneeling etc.

I did consider making an outdoor storage cupboard from timber, but because I am so short of time I decided to get one of these from Argos. Hopefully this cupboard will last for decades. You could probably assemble this cupboard in less than a hour if two people were doing it.

Merry Christmas and all the best for the new year. Thanks for this video, very well put together and clear instructions. I have the Keter Xl storage shed with flip up lid from Costco. It is a very well bit of kit. Easy to install, had my 10 year old brother help me at the time. Only negative was that before I started I triple checked all parts and screws and i was missing a part of the handle. I phoned up keter themselves and the man on phone was brilliant. They sent the part first class Royal Mail, next day for free. I also have the 1st Gen keter work bench which I’ve had for over 5 years heavy use. It again is a great bit of kit. Anyway thanks for video and all the best.

This is by far the best instruction video I have seen on UA-cam. I was going in and out all day to see what you had done. Only comment, you could have explained the nut and bolt going in to the handle fitting better and perhaps how to fit shelves. But that's really being picky. Thanks again.

Greetings from sunny Spain. Might pick up one of these tomorrow- my concern is not the rain but the sun as it will be exposed to direct sunlight 2pm-6pm but nowhere else I can put it so fingers crossed its ok. I presume the UV protection will keep it from being damaged. Excellent and easy to follow instructions cheers mate. Your videos are absolutely brilliant.
I'm not sure how well these will perform in sunny Spain (lucky you, I love Spain)
Keter do make very good quality stuff, so I'm sure the UV blocker that they use will be fine.

Wish I would have known about this video BEFORE I struggled to put my storage unit together. The video that’s available through the Keter website didn’t exactly go through the 200+ steps like the booklet.
Never again, but I’m pleased with the outcome.

Thank you. This was a lifesaver. One small missing component: I did not see in either your video or in the instructions, the step where you drop the nut down inside the door handle so the long screw can tighten. Maybe I have a slightly new version than previous products?

Yes, I don't remember that component and I was careful as to film everything, so perhaps they have changed the design slightly.

Nearly 7 years later, how waterproof are you finding it? Thanks for your video.
It does seem to let some water in now, but I’m not sure if the girlfriend has closed the door properly, also it’s not on a level surface, due to the fall on the patio area. Thanks for the comment 👍

Thanks very much for putting that video together. It made assembling the Keter high store easy. On the version that I purchased, there were no door bolts that latch the door. I think this was a cost cutting measure by Keter. This was unfortunate as the door no longer latches in place and is only held by friction. Still a nice unit in my opinion.

Probably too late to help, but you apparently have the same model that I do. You have to drop the nut that came with the screw down into the door handle. I suspect that older models had a receiving nut already in place inside the handle, which is why this step also isn’t in the instructions.
Is it wall mountable? Just curious about wind and if it will fall over or the sides will come out.🤔🤔(i have my suspicions on the ground mounts).
No, it’s not wall mountable. It’s been outside here in all weathers and is still standing 👍
Nice video. I managed to assemble this myself…still can’t believe it because the last thing I assembled was probably 50 plus years ago, a Lego house.
It’s a great storage unit and I’m really pleased that it’s absolutely waterproof.
Mine doesn’t have shelves although brackets were provided. I’m wondering if you can advise if 12mm thick hardwood plywood is ok. I only need one shelf and don’t plan on putting heavy items on it.
That should be fine, as long as enough brackets are used, or it might bow 👍

Can you tell me if the hinge base that attaches to the wall have 2 screws attached to the wall and the other 2 screws go into the corner framing?

Great video! Ordering mine today, I live in Florida with tropical storms and hurricanes, how would you anchor it down to a concrete slab? Does it come with instructions or recommended anchor point? Or should I just randomly drill down and anchor it?
It has 4 round sections in the base where you can anchor it down, I think it had basic instructions on how to anchor it, but the fixings are not supplied.

Looks very good. I was wondering: 1. Do you think the inside will 100% stay dry after a heavy rain shower? And would the holes in the bottom part let excessive water flow away? 2. Is the top part ("the roof") descending so that any rain will flow away? Thank you.
I can't say for sure. This has been fine for a couple of years, but we moved it a few days ago and it was wet in the bottom- but I'm pretty sure that the girlfriend has not been closing the door properly (she's not very bright, bless her). Once the patio area is restored I will move it back up to the house, but monitoring it will be difficult as she uses it more than I do, and it's likely that she won't close the doors properly again!

Because of the quality of the shed a lot of the pieces were morphed and hard to put together I wonder if it’s build quality or the fact it sat on a ups truck for two weeks

Great video! Our kit did not have the SLVP pieces, which I assume are for strength. Do you think they are needed? I could look for something at the hardware store.
I'd get in touch with the supplier or Keter directly and tell them that the bits are missing. They should send them to you!

You might have to build a wooden frame on the inside to do that!
Hy, Iv seen your waterproof test , looks good, I’m after a 100% waterproof area is this the best option? I’m happy to pay more if you know of a better option

This has been waterproof so far and we do get a lot of rain here! I guess you would have to be careful where you position it, in case you get driving rain! I just got something out of mine this morning, it is really useful ;-)

that is a well-made storage. a bit of trivia: the name of the company translates as "crown", and it is made in Israel.

Did you need to anchor these down to the pavement? If so, are there pre-cut holes where keter recommends drilling through?
There are pre-marked holes for fixing this down- but I have not fixed it down yet.

What a great video. Thank you so much. Am thinking of buying one and feel way more confident now about assembling it. I can put it together on level slabs, but was thinking of then siting it on a gravelled corner. Do you think this will be okay?
As long as the floor is level it will be fine.
You can't assemble this on un level ground or move it to un level ground after assembly or the doors will not open and close correctly.

I was also going to assemble the product on level ground, but need to move to the driveway, which is slightly sloped (maybe 10 degrees). Do you think there is any tolerance in the product (especially with the doors) that allows this? I’m not a great handyman so not sure what to do otherwise?

The handle is fine on mine, we have had it a few years now!
I can imagine there being problems if its not on a level surface though!

Yes the Keter stuff is top notch, I remember having a few of their tool boxes and also some plastic shelving a few years back.
The composite sheds look really good, I did look at one of their composite sheds which I might get in future then I can sell a storage garage that I have on a garage site.

I reckon you could pack about ten bodies in there, depending on whether you cut them up first.

I think you can, if I remember rightly it comes with some black self-tapping screws and small brackets for adding shelves. You should be able to use the provided screws to fix hooks etc, to the inside 👍

If it was me, I would use some rust proof coach bolts and drill right through, then seal the holes with silicone, obviously ensure that the bolts are on the inside of the cabinet. They should pretty much hold anything up 👍

paint your window sill :P
The paint was scraped and it was sanded ready to be painted but the wood was damp and it has not had time to dry out before re-painting as it rains most of the time here ;-)
