    I wish we got enough ice to run some under ice sets in my area of in So. Indiana.

      Some years it's hard to find safe ice here, this year being one of them!

    I’m ordering a couple dozen of your HAGz clips. Would you recommend pairing it with the Bridger #159 single spring, or the Belisle #150 super X single spring? I know the Belisle’s are a lot pricier but in 330’s I’ve found that they’re superior quality. Thank you

      Josh, it’s really a personal preference. The Belisles are over kill for rats and mink but are a great trap. The Bridgers are just fine and stack up the fur just the same. I’ve used both and both catch.
      Thanks for your support, we appreciate it.

    Make sure to have the drill speed on 1 and I’d recommend the handle it’ll save your wrists

    are you using re-rod, or fiberglass poles,? and why?

    • @J3Outdoorz
      @J3Outdoorz  3 роки тому +1

      3/8 fiberglass rods. Because wooden board sets are cumbersome! This is MUCH more efficient.

    Ive been using the hagz clips and they are awesome! Makes my trapping more dangerous ;) does it matter where you set the traps at? Is it better in the channels or can it be random? Thanks!

      Thank you for your support Jesse. It definitely matters where you set. You need to set as close as you can to where they are moving under the ice, that doesn't matter if they are baited sets or sets in runs... If clear ice, look for bubbles to give there areas away. If snow, use a spud and listen for the change in sound as you spud around. If you can't find either, look for what might be runs carved through the cattails. Hope this helps.

      Jesse, be very careful bud. Around huts and beaver lodges can be VERY thin ice (or open) when active. The sound your listening for is the thin ice... tink, tink, tink, thud is what your looking for, but be careful. It would be a good idea to have a buddy with you if you never done it before. I have gotten wet countless times, it happens :)

    What is the voltage on your drill and what size of hole are you drilling

    • @J3Outdoorz
      @J3Outdoorz  5 років тому

      Its an 18v Milwaukee Fuel - I can drill 35-40 holes on a single battery ... In the vid here its a 6"

    How were you securing the trap to your pole?

    • @J3Outdoorz
      @J3Outdoorz  5 років тому

      Hi Silverlake, the trap attaches to the bracket with a J-Hook and is always attached at the end of your chain, the Bracket then slides over the rod. - More pics/details at j3o.com/hagz-bracket - Thanks!

    Safeties...can't tell if they have saved my hands more or cost me catches more... my fingers don't mind the lost fur as much as my pride.

    Is there a way to rig a 1 1/2 longspring on the HAGz Bracket?

    • @J3Outdoorz
      @J3Outdoorz  4 роки тому

      As long as the long spring has a tang end off of the trap frame, it will work.
