His music is an outward expression of his inward joy and love for Christ and a reflection of the beauty and creativity of the Master Musician, God.

You have to ask yourself, does music need to make a statement to be music? Not in my opinion. Music is joy to me, pure unaduterated joy! As I listen to great musicians like Phil Keaggy, my earthly trappings drop away, and joy suffuses my being. Thank you Lord for the miracle of my life, and the ability to be able to experience and feel this joy of the human experience. Thank you Phil for sharing your talent with all of us!

I was once enthralled by the cd cover of premium jams. After taking the 2disc set home and listening to it from beginning to end, my life was never the same.

I love him! I got to sing with him Sept 16th and it is one of the highlights of my life. The Spirit was intense :)

I remember him in 1973 up in Freeville NY at Love Inn. We used to sing & jam after the service. Sweet sweet man of God.

Commenting on the character of the man. At a concert I was backstage with some other of Phil"s "friends." (To be a friend of Phil's you just have to say howdi to him and he considers you his friend.) So his friends were gathering backstage before his show and where was Phil? Running around getting chairs for everyone to sit on.

Those who haven't seen him live, believe us who have, and go see him somewhere...it's jaw-dropping amazing. Phil has been an inspiration to me for years. An amazingly talented yet humble man.

Even Phil Keaggy says that Jimi never made that statement, and since Keaggy recored at Jimis studio for the first time 2 weeks after Jimi was killed its pretty unlikely Jimi ever heard him play. As for those who said he hasn't aged well keep in mind he and his wife lost 5 children lets see how well you hold up after that. My wife and I have lost 2. I can't imagine the pain of losing 5

@db0956 One Year later and no-one has considered answering your question. Hrrmmmm I think it might have something to do with the fact that Phil answers more to the Bible than to what men (mankind) want. Christian musicians and singers can go a long way in this man's world, but not in the same places. With this in mind, 'Unanimously' would have to be considered by Rockers, Heavy Metal heads, Jazz players, Blues players, Folk artists, Punk ravers, New Wavers, and i just dont see that happning

@bobquinlan Perhaps if you had been a fan of Phil for over 30 years, like myself, and listened to the lyrics to all the songs he has written, and seen how he has been a humble servant of Christ for all those years, you would realize how ridiculous your statements are. Phil's mastery of the guitar is simply astounding and covers many genres, from classical and flamenco to rock and roll and everything in between.

His ability is amazing; he may be technically the best in the world, but what is he saying? I find it difficult to discern a statement in his music. He seems too brilliant to be just making pretty sounds, rhythms and syncopations. Does he serve music or does he employ music to express his personal point and truth about ...? What? His style reminds me of Adrian Legg. A lot of quick notes strung together in an amazing feat of ability, that in the end doesn't seem to make any point. I don't find

Obviously a bit of a novice as to the life of Keaggy and the message that he gave everything up to (major music contracts) share. Listen to his library and then come back with a legitimate question ! ;-) Oh... 7 years ago! Well, probably found out already...

Just think what he would have been like if he had learned to read music and taken various lessons! Probably would haver ruined his creative genius and drive...

Django was missing fingers, and was still a nasty player. What is it with guitarists that lose fingers, cause they're nasty
