- Uttar Pradesh Govt has banned the production, storage, distribution, and sale of Halal-certified food with immediate effect. UP Police has registered cases against several companies for allegedly selling Halal-certified products using forged documents. A Halal certificate indicates that a product has been prepared in accordance with Islamic law. The FIR was registered in Hazratganj Kotwali on a complaint of Shailesh Sharma.

Halal certification is not forcing you to choose anything. But banning halal is certainly preventing some other people to choose halal based on somebody else's belief.
I am a vegetarian, but by your logic, you should also oppose the ban on beef in India, because that's also standardizing somebody's food based on somebody else's religion.

@@heyheywhatup Allah has forbidden Muslims to eat animals that did not die as the result of man, contain blood, are pigs, or have been sacrificed to another god (Qur'an 2: 173).
Halal simply means slaughtering an Animal in the name of it's creator, Allah (God) because to him belongs everything so you can't take something from his creation without mentioning Him.
Halal has some rules, the animals need to be kept neat and they should've had a free life. Not caged and kept in their own feces. The animal has to be slaughtered by the jugular vein to make it's suffering end sooner. Consuming halal also goes for veggies, but Veggies and Fishes are automatically Halal the second they're plucked from their plant or taken out of the water as they die then and there. You don't need to cut through them alive in order to kill them, so they are Halal.
The certification is required for Muslims so we are assured that the Halal certification companies are doing their job to ensure that us Muslims don't have to slaughter our own animals, we can consume from the same meat as the entire country. Banning the certification doesn't stop Muslims from consuming as we have slaughter houses everywhere and we could slaughter it at home too we just need a Muslim Butcher. It just stops us from eating at cafes and restaurants. 🤷🏻♀️

HALAL certification is discriminatory in nature that is the product has to be prepared by a muslim only and there is a fees charged for it and a part of this fees goes to serve islamic cause. This means non muslims will go out of production of such products.
Technically, every vegetarian item without alcohol is halal, which is safe for Muslim consumption. But the problem is, to get this halal certificate, money is required. This automatically increases the price of the product. Now, let's say, normal biscuits are halal certified, which are bought by everyone, especially in large quantities by IRCTC, and other service corps. So, everyone is paying tons and tons of money to Muslim trust funds although they have nothing to do with it. How this accumulated money is spent? Definitely not for the welfare of those who paid for it. Hence, this doesn't really seem like a move based on hatred but logic.
The only real market for processed Indian food products is either the Middle East or Indian grocery stores throughout the world. This little harmless certification allows billions of food exports from India. Now these stores will have to replace Indian products with those from competitors including Pakistan, Bangladesh or Nepal, who all happily put Halal certification on their products. If this was really about economics, not hatred, it was penny wise pound foolish.

Even if a hindu gives me a zibah meat , i will eat it without any hesitation or without the thought of communal difference. There is no communal discrimination here , it is just a particular "act" which is prohibited and that is "eating that meat which is not cut through zibah" .
