I like how I was in a bible study if I wanted the holy Spirit. Yes I was saved just like the 12/120 were after Christ rose and went up. Yet they were told to wait for the promise. So they did "And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." Peter told them to repent and be baptized in Christ and you shall receive the gift of the holy Spirit. See He told us if you ask the Father for the holy Spirit He will give it to those (believers) that ask. So I just said at 15y old said yes. I sat in this chair and he never said what he personally believed. He only read the verses then asked if I wanted the holy Spirit I said yes again he then prays one of the shortest prayers I have ever heard in 55y in the lord then just stopped said "that's it you got it". Lets stop right there.,.. do you even Mark Driscoll have that kind of faith? See they believed if GOD said it you never once have to guess wonder keep asking begging but knew if HE said it.. He will do it. So no one said on word.. I got up went to sit down and BAM tongues just came out. Was my life different then the day before? YES HELLO! He said you shall receive POWER after.. EVERYONE that receives the holy spirit gets that. Some just tell you.. you already have it.. why the need to ask then? Why ask "have you received the holy spirit since you believed?" yeah .. they said what holy spirit? Yet they did receive and yes spoke in tongues., Man says it does not happen to all. Yes yes Paul said to Cor he wanted all to speak tongues. I can go to Marks Church stand up there look at all and say the same exact words. See I don't add to His word meaning "What Paul was really saying was.. not all get the gft".. I will NOT add to His word. Its not like when Paul was talking about freely sinning? We KNOW He was talking to Jewish people that were saved but when they sinned they would still go back to offer a sacrifice for that sin. So Paul told them there is no more sacrifice for that sin Christ can not die again and what they were doing was putting Christ to open shame.
Yes we still need the guidance of the holy ghost and it's comes with tongues Acts 2:1-4: Acts 2 38, 8:16_17 10:44--48 Acts 19 1--7 it's not voodoo no NAR not catholic not Baptist it's Oneness Apostolic Pentecostal UPCI truth yo u my friend are deceive
My old pastor, who was the Pentecostal leader of a large church for 40 years, said that the sure sign of being filled with the Spirit is the evidence of Fruits of the Spirit...especially love for your fellow Christian. His view changed over the years.
