    Really appreciated this video. Loading/unloading a bar is what we do all the time but have never seen someone do a walkthrough of it. I learned something. Thank you.

    Dude, when you slid the bar out of the plates, my jaw hit the f*cking floor! All these years, that never occurred to me. I always awkwardly shimmy the plates off the bar on the second side. YOU ARE FREAKING GENIUS!

    Completely COMPLETELY embarrassed myself loading AND unloading even with a bar support to roll it off and it was just humiliating lol, I tried deadlifts too heavy to test my strength , stopped, couldn’t take the weights off the last side and interrupted a person at the gym to ask for help with (light) weight to take off of my bar ... hated myself in this moment 💀😂

      We've all been there. I mean me. I have been there 😂 did none of the easy methods in this video...i feel so silly but also so looking forward to get back there and load and unload my bar like a pro 😂 then probably proceed to make other mistakes 😂

    I was struggling to get off a plate off a barbell in a packed gym and no one helped 🙄. I’m glad that this is actually a common issue and I’m not just awkward haha.

    Definitely one of the best videos on loading/unloading. Never even thought about how to effectively do this. I watched other videos and everyone else teaches by dropping the barbell or using some weird technique. I really appreciate this. Thanks so much.

    Thaaanks a lot! Guys in the gym always leave behind a loaded barbell and I always have to struggle with unloading (I'm just 54kg/119lbs :D)

    Thank you for this! I've almost thrown my back out loading and unloading plates so much appreciated. Especially with all these sanitizers ruining the metal and making it even more difficult to glide the plates off.

    Thank you so much for this video. I have been struggling with loading and unloading plates and was about to give up. It was taking me a long time to get the plates on and off. This really helps reduce the time I spam spending on the set-up and dismantle of the bar.

    I have extreme anxiety and last time when I went to go do this for the first time ever I did pretty much everything wrong somehow and just felt like a dork. Lucky no one was around but in the moment easy stuff like this is hard for me ,so thank you very much for this video

    It’s a 285 dollar bar that literally made to hold several hundred pounds. Falling a couple inches will not hurt it, I promise you.

    Typically use the smith machine but have been wanting to move away from it. Felt super awkward unloading the plate and had some difficulty.

    I dropped the bar on my foot. It wasn’t injured too much. I googled to figure out how to unload the bar and this video has saved my life. Thank you. I was about to stop lifting 🤣

    Thank you. I have been using "preloaded" bars, but they are difficult to deal with as my strength has increased. I'll feel much more confident on my next deadlift day.

    Sometimes, after lifting deadlifts I lift the loaded barbell on a squat rack and easily remove the plates without bending too much, its just bonus rep :D , when the barbell is too heavy for moving then I do this with my friend, we lift it on squat rack together. But, yes this was really helpful video, thanks :) .

    Thank you for showing us how to do this. i'm a beginner and was worried I was gonna clank the weights and look stupid in front of everyone. Tbh a lot of these seemengly small things are why people are intimidated to move from machines to barbells.

    Also. Props on “labels in” on the loading of the plates. The “lip” towards the middle allows you to pull them off securely

    I have a gym setup in my garage, when doing deadlifts I just use two car jack stands to rest the bar and slide the weight off.
