Yep. I remember this movie. The "testing" of the gold was mentioned (in the movie) was done by carbon testing. You can't carbon test gold, and if you could, it wouldn't indicate that it came from the time of the Civil War.
I don't recall him saying the gold was carbon tested. It could be tested in other ways to see if it's legit. A serious coin dealer can tell with a magnifying glass if it was struck at the mint.
And they travel through time using an elaborate time travelling mono-rail capsule that accelerates them through the time barrier… … then just disappears when they arrive at their destination leaving the time travellers floating in mid-air. Then they simply travel back using a little pocket time machine. So stupid. Soooo very stupid.

As far as I know, this wouldn't even matter for 'pure' (reasonably) gold anyhow. I got to see this in the theaters. It was a little above my head at the time as I was pretty young. But the action was still good, and the ending was great. The 90's was a great time to be a movie fan. It was ok to be a male, and protect your woman and family back then.

They never even made a live firing version of it, it's a prip gun chambered in 9mm P.A.K and only a few got made in Canada, Im not sure if they wanted a generic smg look or homemade luty / mad max look. I do enjoy fictional weapons in media but a smg with no stock and those huge 80s red lasers... While I think these days their is no real excuse to ever use a prop gun that could chamber a live round in a shooting scene as most common calibers can be converted to blank only. The handgun in that movie looked like a berretta 92 with alot of JB weld on it that made it look kind of like the 10mm pistol from fallout. After Lees death, no excuse Baldwin, the armourer and whoever was in charge should stand trail for manslaughter.

I did work for a few years with a company that dealt with prop blank firing weapons and deactivated weapons and ammunition for close ups. None could ever hurt anyone unless it was a muzzle venting prop and was used close up. That prop is a good example of a generic prop gun that is unbranded. Some productions don't want to give free advertisement to gun makers and some brand won't allow it. For example Rolex will pay producers for it's use in film but since the 80s they have a policy of someone can't wear a rolex while committing acts of violence. Some strange rules in TV and Film, the majority of US films are shot in Canada or other nations due to lower costs. Different nations have laws on what is a prop and what is a firearm. Brandon Lees death in the crow was awful and it was shocking to see Baldwin kill someone on the set of Rust. Yes I own firearms but it's only for sport shooting, I don't hunt I don't own any stupid pepper stuff. I was never deployed in the airforce even if I was the likely hood of me using a firearm to defend myself would be low. I have never fired a shot in anger and I never want to. Nothing is cool or fun about shooting people or getting shot but this is fiction and so is the prop.
What stands out to me is that the moment the shooting started the horses got spooked and ran away except for the horses on the gold wagon. Guess it had the breaks on.
@@toldyouso5588 Just like dogs horses can get used to the sound of gunfire depending on their breed and how they are trained, they even make blanks with different sounds for this purpose but I'm pretty sure now they give them some tipe of hearing protection, earplugs for a horse must be huge lol. With many films even the bad ones the amount of experts you need to make the whole thing come together is crazy and some have had some insane story's due to bad luck, incompitance or just a low budget. Sometimes the making of can be more interesting that the movie itself lol.

I saw this at the movies back in the day. Its a cool film. I always wondered how the guy in the first scene didn't hit the horses. It didn't look like the guy was holding those SMG"s very steady. I don't care if they had Lazer sights.
Always possible since the guns were advanced, that so too where the bullets. Maybe self guiding bullets that homed in on humans and missed everything else (including the horses).

I hated that about TVs when they got a little newer trying to watch older movies and it would push them to 60 fps it would make it look all off kind of like you're watching a soap opera. Also on a lot of movies 60 fps kind of breaks the action in movies you can really see how fake it is vs the 20 fps or whatever they used before.
This is one of the best movies ever. I don't understand why they didn't keep making more movies to follow-up with this story. To me, it is one of the best JCVD movies ever.

Timestalkers was a television movie about a bad guy going back in time to be able to commit crimes in his own time period. He traveled to the old west and changed time a little.
Great scene and the director (Peter Hyams) who was also the cinematographer had such a great visual style. He also did a few other cool movies, back in the 90’s, like Narrow Margin, Sudden Death and The Relic.
If time travel ever exists, and it won't, going back in time won't change the future. It will simply create an alternate timeline that you will now exist in, and no one else. Be 4 REAL DUDES :D

What's awesome is that in 60fps it doesn't look cinematic as a movie does, it feels more like a TV show... 🙃

As for me my people don’t have healthcare not because we can’t do it but simply because we don’t need it. Some antivenom for our kids and livestock is all we’d need to survive. Raw organs and unprocessed food will do just fine since we don’t have a starvation gene. Nor do we have genetic disease related to nutrition like lactose intolerance or any of that carp I see Americans constantly whining about.
