Just so anyone else has this question, first you CAN pause the video as you right down each piece as he explains the process but, for those who are too lazy, here is the list as i wrote it down. 1 1/2" PVC pipe - 30" long 3/4" PVC pipe - 29" long 2x 1 1/2" slip-on couplings 1 1/2" x 3/4" Reducing Bushing 3/4" PVC pipe (one end cut at a slant) 1 1/2" x 1" Reducing bushing 3/4" Slip-on Tee 3/4" Male Adapter (one end screw on) 3/4" cap 1 1/2" of Black Foam pipe Insulation (glue crack) PVC Glue
It works great! I appreciate it. I super glued about 2 inches of the foam pipe insulation directly onto the 3 qtr inch pipe and then capped it instead. I found that to be easier than screwing the cap on with the insulation there. Haven't had any problems thus far. For all new viewers as of 2021 the cost of this project (if you already own your own pvc glue) is going to be $25 plus. Thank your most voted for president in the history of the united states in the most "free and fair election we've ever had" for the ridiculous inflation. In one year he's spent more of your money than all the presidents in the 20th century combined! And we've still got 3 to go. Yaaayyy
Thanks!!! Great video. I just saw this used for the first time yesterday and was amazed at the results. And yes they are $50.00 retail. I will build it and they will come!~ Thanks again!!
This worked beautifully! The only thing I did different is extend the nozzle into the pump so the gold doesnt get lost, and rather falls into the tube. Kinda like a sniffer bottle. Great Design!
If you shorten the plunger and extend the nozzle further into the body you create a trap for both gold and sediment and don't have to worry about everything falling back out. Just need to make sure the end cap is removable to allow cleaning out.
I love it. Have you evolved any of the parts like the suction plunger material so it works more efficiently or any other tip you can share with us at this time ? Thank you for sharing this simple yet highly effective creavicing tool with us. it' very exciting to begin construction on one of these this winter in which we've had several heavy snofalls and extremely cold weather. i'd really appreciate any upgraded tips you can share. please stay safe and healthy . peace.
thanks for this post .i will make 1 tomorrow. And may need some mods if any seal leakage. Great idea, and you can always make finer tips if need be. cheers!!
stelrs12, I wish to thank you for your excellent demonstration. I hope to build on this week so, I'll let you know how it works out. BTW, the last 3/4" pvc pipe. You didn't say any specific length. Does it matter or can that be up to the individuals needs?
You could also attach a Y section on the bottom with a short gold trap. And you could make several smaller nozzle sections with PEX tubing and down to copper tubing for smaller crevices. One good thing about the straight pipe is you could also use it to flush the crevice.
People are idiots. This design works fine! I costed me 20 bucks, but thats because I couldn't buy PVC in any length except 10 feet. You empty out from the nozzle side and do not remove the pump seal ever. I also used a smaller ID pipe insulation with a larger OD for a GREAT SEAL. Good job! Worked for me!
can you share a list of parts needed? keene super crevice sucker is over $50 by the time s&h. Those young jack wagon has a limited vocabulary don't pay any attention.

1 1/2" PVC pipe - 30" long
3/4" PVC pipe - 29" long
2x 1 1/2" slip-on couplings
1 1/2" x 3/4" Reducing Bushing
3/4" PVC pipe (one end cut at a slant)
1 1/2" x 1" Reducing bushing
3/4" Slip-on Tee
3/4" Male Adapter (one end screw on)
3/4" cap
1 1/2" of Black Foam pipe Insulation (glue crack)
PVC Glue
Thanks for the list! I was doing the pause but I missed two!
Great video

Well done. Great vid 9 years on. Has to be a classic now. Simple easy and cheap construction, couldn't ask for much more, Cheers from Australia :)

That sounds like a smart adaptation : )
thanks alot. very helpful, looks like it should work great. been looking for a simple sucker that is reasonably cheap and this is the one.
Shoe goo works excellent for holding the seams of the pipe insulation together

Thanks for sharing Steirs. Gonna try to make one soon.

Thank you, that works great. Awesome!

Would it be possible to post the parts list? I had a hard time catching everything you used, good job!
I can’t keep the foam insulation on the male adapter it tears up so quickly, trying again but thank you for a great video
Can you leave 3in more on the 1 1/2 body to act like a catch or does it need to be close to the plunger
Nice video. Just wondering. Doesnt the cap on the 3/4 pipe has to have some kind of hole to suck water. How is that thing sucking water?
build one with a t- toward the bottom so it has an exscape hole to be pumped out into a line or bin so you don't have to tip it back constantly.
Thank you for this!!
My only issue was that I could only find pipe insulation with a 2" OD that fit 3/4" pipe. Had to drop down to half inch for the plunger.. no biggie.
Wouldn't you need a check valve in the bottom "T" so you won't lose anything out of the end? And if so, wouldn't it get jammed alot?
why do people have to be dickheads with some of their responses? They must be living a miserable life.
Thanks for sharing Steirs!
Right!
: )
Matter of fact we do. And we want yours to be just as miserable. Why else you think I vote blue.
Can we have a list of parts in the description? Please...

may need some pipe insulation on top side too
Hi thank for the video can you please send me the sizes please

I think you need to take some time and go to inplix website to learn how to make it.
that's 7:25 I'll never get back ! get a shovel!! so useless ! thanks ,but no thanks! I like my back the way it is. waste of time for 6 bucks
