    What I really like about this entire channel is that it comes from a UK perspective which has definitely some touch blade laws, but other countries also have strict laws which is really helpful, also showcasing some interesting products you don't see on other mainstream edc channel, keep up the good work sir!

    I'm looking forward to this new series. Also, I just read your updated video description; don't worry about responding to too many comments, the OGs like me I'm sure are all happy that your channel is growing at such a clip! Too many comments is a good thing!
    As an avid wild camper, I was thinking yesterday whilst trying to find my way to a spot I'd been to before in complete darkness, aided only by my trusty, rubbish, 2-for-£10 head torch, I would like to hear your opinion and recommendations for camping torches that tick three boxes:
    1. Bright (obviously)
    2. Lightweight (the rucksack gets heavier and heavier the longer the hike is!)
    3. Affordable (most important for me personally!)
    I would like to invest something like £50 in a head torch with a low light mode so my battery can last a couple of nights of reading before bed and also be bright enough to get to camp after dark in the winter months, or to find my way home in an emergency.
    I also thought a handheld one might be the better option, or a combo of the two. Was looking at the Olight Seeker 3 pro but that's well out of my price range unfortunately. Probably will end up going for a head torch though.
    Cheers! Not expecting a response, but cheers either way.

      Thanks for your feedback as always. My go to ultralight very practical head torch is the brilliant Nitecore NU25 - which like many I have modified with shock cord to reduce bulk and weight - featured in the video here ua-cam.com/video/WwqdYc13RhI/v-deo.html
      The good news is that they have just released a V2 which looks fantastic - I have one on order to review - I would def check it out.

    Ive had that Acebeam for about 4 years now I think and am reallly glad to see it's still rated today (which is a rarity in torches as rhe technology is constantly improivng). However, this is the only liggt of many high end loght I've owned that failed on me so it gets a huge points deduction on that. It works again now but for whwtaver reason it failed on me in Iceland and didn't work for a good 2 years after. No idea why but it easnt rhe battery..

    Not meaning this to be negative at all, but what is the practical purpose of the Nitecore LEP type flashlights? I work mostly in the dark at night with an LED flashlight and love having the wider area of light to see what i need to see. What is the reasoning for the spotlight effect of LEPs?

    It seems odd to me to have a flashlight designed for distance with little to no light spill. What would the use case for that be? When I think of a flashlight I think of something with a decent amount of light spill to get a better view of a wide area. Say for instance, walking in the dark, or for looking around in the dark for something that has fallen.

    I'm really confused about the wallet with the magnets. My experience with neodymium magnets and cards with swipe strips was that they don't get along. In other words, the magnet renders the swipe strip useless. How do they get around that with these wallets?

    • @alanlansdell7533
      @alanlansdell7533 Рік тому +2

      Cards like credit cards will probably be just fine, the strip technology for some access cards and tickets which are programmed at point of use however can often be affected negatively by magnets.

    • @JonGadget
      @JonGadget  Рік тому

      Yes, floodlight helps. Others have asked the same question. long range search if you know where to look perhaps? - low power consumption and long run times are a real bonus - but not many practical use cases in my view

    • @MonsieurArlequin
      @MonsieurArlequin Рік тому

      LEP and other spotlight torches are only practical in very specific situations. I have a very similar torch, the P30i and it gets way less use than my TM9K.
      For most edc situations, a flood light is far more useful as you rarely need to see further than 100-200 meters.
      Long range spot lights are only useful in situations like inspection of large structures like buildings or aircraft. Security & patrol like at a guard post. Search & rescue or if you work on ship.

    I'm currently on the hunt for a good solid pen. I prefer metal body and not a big fat pen. Maybe a multi tool style. I normally carry a Cross brand pen. All metal and it's on the skinny side that I like but they get costly because the clips always break and you can't replace them, they are pretty flimsy, weak clips.

    That wallet seems unnecessarily thick to me - I actually think those have gone the wrong direction overall, they seem to be too focused on small footprint (probably intended for jeans) but I'd rather see one that is thinner but has a wider overall footprint so when you put it in your pocket it consumes more space but less thickness. Ideally I'd like to have a side pocket organiser which could (on one plane) keep several things a bit like you would see in a grooming set; take out and open up and bam, there's your EDC kit such as multi-tools, etc. Keep it tall but thin so it doesn't bulge out of our trousers.
    Also - is there any decent attention paid to coins? That always seems neglected? With the same thing but flat/wide approach that doesn't jingle?
