What makes the Nintendo Switch the console of choice to collect for in modern gaming is that:
    1. You can play the greater majority of games without ever having to download the Update/Patch if the game has one.
    2. You can download Updates/Patches without having the Game Card in the console.
    3. The Nintendo Switch is portable, so having the ability to choose between playing the game on the television, tabletop mode, or portable is a HUGE selling point‼️
    4. There is something about games shipping on Game Card (cartridge) versus disc.
    5. With developers doing the impossible by making games originally released on more powerful systems, playable on the Nintendo Switch and making them fit onto a 32GB Game Card or less, is what makes those types of games instant collectibles; The Witch 3: Complete Edition, Metro Exodus, and World War Z to name a few.
    6. Game Card (cartridge) has the potential to outlast disc.

Just guess what games you think will be worth more... this guy is doing no different.. There's nothing to say any of these games will be valueable in the future... and considering the way games are sold, VERY few people will buy a 100+$ physical copy if nintendo is still selling the digital for much much cheaper. Besides it seems like you pretty much buy everything with any real media presence to have 300+ so just continue to do what you're doing...

I remember last year I was surprised to find that Astral Chain was being sold for $60 at multiple popular retailers. A month or two ago, I was hoping to find it for cheaper, but no luck. And this time I couldn't find it anywhere else other than Amazon. So I bought it on Amazon for $60 before the price skyrockets and it's harder to find, because I believe that is what will happen.
Btw, I'm not disappointed with the purchase. Even though the combat might be overwhelming at first, it is very fun. The game is also gorgeous. It's like I'm playing an anime action film. Don't sleep on this game.

After more carefully thinking after your video, I have a few suggestions for the next volume!
Grandia HD Collection - PlayAsia Import Edition
This is only $50, and the LRG US release easily goes for $100+ everywhere.
    Trails of Cold Steel III/IV
Games are ranging from $40-$60 right now, and have been as low as $25-$35 in the recent weeks. New copies are quite hard to find now, and they will be blowing up soon due to Cold Steel I/II Switch coming soon.
    Crystar
The PS4 version didn't stick around for long at all, and it's now easily snagging $80+ pretty much everywhere.
    Blue Reflection: Second Light
It's much better than the first, and the first cannot be bought for less than $250 anymore.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD - PlayAsia Import Edition
This is the only way to get both games on cartridge, and fans of dual audio can enjoy that as well. It still ranges roughly $50, but when they're gone, much like the Vita copies expect this to go to $120+ easily.
If I can think of some more I'll add to my comment!

The North American version of Atelier Ryza used to be one of the dream scalper games. Went out of stock in early 2020 and was regularly sold for $100+ on Amazon. Fortunately it got a pretty substantial reprint in 2021 and the price has stabilized back down to around $45 new on Amazon. Still, if you are interested, I'd say pick it up while you can before stock runs out as it may shoot back up to $100+ again.

The trick is to buy pretty much any RPG either at launch or very shortly afterwards - it's much less of a gamble as they tend to increase in value.
Some of the more niche RPGs tend to have a period of decreasing prices before skyrocketing, but this cannot be guaranteed. At the moment, I would recommend buying Kowloon High School Chronicles as it seems to be in this temporary dip in price.

I like to get games before they are rare because then I know I'll have it on my shelf ready whenever I wish to play it. However I'm not a fan of " Buy it now cheap and make sure to keep it sealed since it will be valuable down the line" That mentality... it frustrates me when I hear it. It's similar to scalpers.
Why not buy games because you intend to play them? Video games in general is a poor investment compared to other avenues. If I wanted to make money, I would study the stock market and invest, not buy video games and sell them 10 years later for some profit.

This is very true and like you I don’t really ever buy games with the intent on holding them off for a big return in the future. However, let’s say you’ve already purchased and played the “rare” game that may go up in price and you happen to see it again for much cheaper I don’t see anything wrong with holding it necessarily for the future. Like I always intended on buying the physical copy of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna the Golden Country for this very reason, but since I waited so damn long to do see the game is asking for crazy prices which I’m currently just not able to justify atm

Pretty much all jrpgs and any horror game hold value for collectors. A few third party games I think have potential for value that maybe people don't think about are Diablo 3, Witcher 3, Skyrim, and Dark Souls. Those games can be had right now for 30-50 but I'm seeing them less and less at retail stores and they have mostly held their value. I don't think they'll be crazy expensive but they won't be dirt cheap like they are on other systems. I could see them being 70-90 in a few years, especially Diablo.

BD2 is a game I constantly leave on sleep so I can get the goodies to increase everyone’s stats. I love that! I got all the endings but I need to get all the jobs at 100%. Octopath Traveler is one I need to get back to also. I got every character with the Knight being my first. Triangle Strategy is fun. It’s a slow burner but at the same time it’s slowly revealing the cool skills and usefulness of the characters. It’s probably the best strat RPG we’ve had in awhile. Chrono Cross has new features and with the price that it is, I can’t turn it down now. I will admit I’m not in a hurry to play it but I know I will. I await something new with Chrono Trigger. That’s my favorite. Always will be.

Ys origin, ys 7 ys 8 ys 1 and 2 and memories of calcetta and oath in fellghanna (I think those two are remakes of ys 3 and 4) are all available on the ps vita/psp and super easy to get for free. Just for gameplay im not sure I'd sacrifice the smaller size of the vita for the larger and more unwieldy Nintendo switch. And ys origin plays way better with the directional pad instead of using the sticks. I'd say that's a reason to avoid the switch version too unless using the pro controllers

I agree with most of these, one thing I’d note is that if you like the Atelier series don’t stop at Ryiza you should go ahead and pick up as many as possible, there’s so many releases at this point but many of them have held their value so far and I can EASILY see that shooting up in a matter of years.
And I’d also recommend just taking a deep dive on Amazon/play Asia to find the really hidden gems, games that don’t even get an announcement on directs and stuff. I’ve missed out on a few Nis America releases too before and those can be extremely limited, one that I was looking at went from $30 retail to now over $200 brand new, crazy, so anything they release is pretty much guaranteed to be not just a fun time but also hold/gain value rapidly. So I wouldn’t even try and wait for sales on those, get them while they’re hot.

Quick note about Torna: If you buy a used copy of the game, you will NOT gain access to the Expansion Pack content that comes in a separate download code on NEW copies. For this reason, I would recommend just buying the digital expansion pack that comes with Torna, unless you’re looking to make a profit. As a side note, buying the expansion pass also keeps XC2+Torna all on one piece of software, which I personally find to be preferable.
