Finally, I had the chance to ride the new KTM 890 Adventure. Unfortunately the standard version but I think that this is better than nothing. As usual, I will be brutally honest in my review.

I love how honest and practical his reviews are. He may not tell you what you want to hear, but he always tells us what we need to hear.
Thanks, man!
Reviews from all the main mainstream bike channels are often amusing and good, BUT reviews from a man who has travelled all around the world, in good, bad and everything in between conditions, and knows a good motorcycle when he is on one, is what you really need to pay attention to.
Good, so my mission is completed!
@Highland Wolf I am old ,still riding bike without bells and whistles, love it 🍻
You are a great reviewer man. Love your picky highway testing and low RPM chugging etc. All really important stuff.
Glad you like them!
Best review ever bro! Thx! Greetings from Hungary
great review, I really enjoyed it,, regarding the seat height I noticed that you had it in lower position (maybe I'm mistaken). great channel keep it up and wish you all the best.
You are correct, but it won't makes much difference.
Nice video as always, but I still keep my ADV 790, I'm really very satisfied.Thank you Pavlin and best wishes! 👍
Whatever is good for you!
Thanks for again for your honest to goodness review. Ride safely
My pleasure!
He always drives like a hooligan and doesn't give a flying fart about your "safety advice." :D
Great honest video ad usual
Top marks
Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice review . See you in next road trip.
Thanks for taking the time!
I want this bike!!!
Very pretty area you are in.
Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching!
The seat has 2 positions.. in your clip its set to low, You should have taken the top position for your test, as you say it was too small for you. Thanks for the great clip anyway, always a pleasure to see!
Ok, thanks
fantastic review terrific job
Thanks!
Very Good & Detailed Insight into the bike.
Thanks for the information. I'm deciding on a Adventure Tourer.
What's your suggestion for a Middle weight Adventure Tourer
My suggestion it doesn't matter! First, because you are going to ride it not me. Second because I have no idea what you can find in your country and what you can afford.
A good review. Thanks for the no nonsense report.
Thanks for watching!
Good honest review
I appreciate that!
Thks Pavlin.Good to hear your views.
My pleasure!
You make a good work, keep on 🥇🥇🥇🥇
Thank you so much 😀
Hi, excellent review, can you Please do a review of the 2021 Tracer 9 GT? I love your Honesty and would Sincerely Appreciate a review on the Tracer... thanks 😊
I will, when I have the chance!
wery good test! thanks
Glad you liked it!
Thanks for this review, Pavlin. Are you going to buy the 890 now? Great to have you back in DE. When are you leaving DE? Cheers, Govind
I have zero interest to buy this model, Govind. I was in Berlin just for a week, already back in Bulgaria.
If KTM ever deals with their significant reliability issues they may have something I’d be interested in.
Well, it is what it is!
I have the KTM 1290 R now for about three years with zero reliability issues. Do you have experience with KTM and is the experience recent?
@@motorcycleadventures It is allways what it is, otherwise it is something else, hence the pointless platitude. :D
@KTMARV 1 It is about the big picture, not the small picture.
I’ve had my 990 adv for 13yrs and 63,000 miles. The starter relay was playing up so was changed about 4yrs ago and the clutch slave cylinder packed up in France but I filled up the reservoir and re bled it and finished a 2 week trip no problem. Other than that no reliability issues at all throughout the many European trips on and off road. Great bike.
Thank you - enjoyed that. You may have liked your ride a bit more if you had set the seat to the 850 mm setting instead of the 830 mm that it was set on. You can see this as at 850 mm there is more panel showing along the seat.
Could be.
I noticed the same. You where comfortable on the 790 with the seat in the high position , but you mentioned the high pegs and little legroom on the 890 with the seat on the low position . I’m 1.8m and on long trips I use both just to change the driving position .
Thanks for your reviews !
hi handsome. i enjoyed your video and review. i have to agree, ktm engine is loud. i would like to see your opinion on the ktm 890 adventure. your honesty is 100% ,very enjoyable to my ear. enjoy your ride- from sunny wine country-northern California. toast to your motorcycle rides.
Thanks for taking the time!
I agree with many of you points. I have a T7 and ride with friends who have 790's and 890 adventures. I'm 6'2 and the 890 is too short for me. love the simplicity of the Tenere but wish it had a quick shifter.
Enjoy it!
You should use the other (higher) seat position ;)
I bought the 790s about one year ago, went though Denmark, Swiss and Italy (based in Germany) with passenger... now at about 17k km without noticeable problems 👍 hope you are wrong it’s not the best choice for long distance traveling 🤞🤞
Planning for the ACT Rumania mid 2022 😍 add much more
Thanks Pavlin, loving your content 👍👍
Thanks for sharing!
супер. колко е цената?
двумя се с duke 890 и adventure 890 кое е по добре? Поздрави
So far, I am enjoying my 2022 KTM 890 Adventure. I am disappointed that I can't adjust the suspension like you can on an 'R' model. I believe they added more adjustable suspension on the 2023 model...I guess I should have waited another year before purchasing. :D I have installed an AXP skid plate which helps with the protection of both the engine and fuel tanks. The looks are subjective, but I think they improved the looks on the 2023 model, which does not look like it has a wasp head configuration. The tank design is unusual, but I love the engineering design of it and a 20 liter capacity is nice. The engine is a bit noisy on idle, but it seems to smooth out as you ride it at more elevated rpms. I am about 177 centimeters in height and the riding position suits me. My legs are short; I have a 76 cm inseam length...so I cannot put my heels down at stops and it is a little awkward backing up when I up on only the front part of my feet.
I enjoyed your video. Thank you for sharing your observations. Stay safe.
hello , i like your videos, I am looking for a ktm 790 adv or adv R? So i appreciate your opinion, I am 1.90 cm tall do you thing the 790 adventure simple is small or short for me ? Is it better for my height if i buy a adv R?
my 790 adventure S has been trouble free for every day riding for almost 10.000km, i love it... when the 890 came out i was furious... but... wel... the 790 is great stil... and better with every km... i really love this bike... its amazing... the 890 says that is really improved... in the engine area and little better electronics.
To celebrate after 10,000km is just inserious.
@@motorcycleadventures I'm not celebrating, I just didn't have yes the issues that I have seen... I will celebrate over 100k
Good!
I am trying to do a review of the new 1290 super adventure but its not easy to get the bike 😬 but, working on it :) good video my friend.
Not in the shops yet, but it will come soon.
@@motorcycleadventures I can get it for 1 hour but that’s not enough to make a review 😂 it’s here in the Netherlands the bike. But yeah, making a review in 1 hour is a bit mission impossible 😬
Yes sir. It’s not worth it for such a hefty sum. Thanks for an honest review.
Nice review Pavlin 👍. I like the concept for the fuel tank keeping the centre of gravity low but definitely agree it's not enough protection in a fall and needs proper crash bars.
Thanks for taking the time, Darren!
i used to have the same concerns. i have since then dropped my 790 with stock tank protectors off of 1 meter drops onto rocks, failed at landing motocross jumps, slided on pavement and countless other less impressive falls. all fine. the slide did most damage by far but the tank remained intact. i follow this topic closely and so far i have seen only one instance of a cracked tank. this is not the part of 790/890 that needs more protection or redesign (that would be shitty non-brembo calipers, cracking neck of the frame, and clutch oil jet that can get clogged. all the rest are minor inconveniences at best, and overall the motorcycle is as reliable as any other bike i had)
Good to know.
Nice review! What about windshield?
It is not enough for tall riders.
Hello Pavlin, Nice review as usual. You noticed bad ergonomics on this model, thinking it should be different with the "R" model. In my experience to have tryed 790 R, the problem is the triangulation between handlebar, footpegs and seat, and "R" or not, it will be the same , only higher level of seat to put feet on the ground, but in riding position, the same. This bike ( 790 ) was too small to me, I felt like on a roadster:, feet under my but, knees very bended and body too much forward. also, standing position was horrible, worse ( and I'm only 1.80 )..That was one of the main things I didn't like on this bike ( one more time 790 , but the architecture and ergonomics seems to be the same on 890 ). As I tryed 2 weeks later T 700, ergonomics were perfect , engine very fun, I signed immediately for T 700, and no one regret since one year I got it ! One more time, thank you for your excellent videos, I'm following you since , I think now 3-4 years, always with pleasure !
I know all of this, because I have tried 790 R last year, but I have to be as objective as possible. Tenere 700 is the only bike that I have a personal interest.
hi handsome. i like your statement at the 10:42 "ride it like a toy"lol nice line. would you consider a zero electric motorcycle over this ktm 890 s? thanks
My opinion about Zero you can watch here: ua-cam.com/video/IUAjhES-kTw/v-deo.html, and here: ua-cam.com/video/FevVML-d088/v-deo.html
I have the KTM 390 Adventure and it has adjustable suspension on the front, And I though the 890 Adventure did hear in Canada will have to check next time I go to the shop. I like the 390 a lot and is more than fast enough for the Island as the roads are 80 and 90 Km per hour. but the 390 can cruse all day at well over 100 I did upgrade the hand guards and putting the better bash plate on from KTM, The 390 is great for paved , grave, and dirt roads, also handles wet grass very well. It will handle 2 up no problem with out luggage or one up with luggage, I have Trekker 33/64 hard bags on and still average 3.3 liters per hundred km. I did up grade the tires to Dunlop TrailMax Mission and they are the best 50/50 tires I have ever had, great on paved, gravel and dirt roads, and good for slow off road have just under 5000 km on it and the tires still look like new. I get only 400 km per tank with the 14.5 liter tank, wish they would of went with a 18 liter gas tank and this would be a great ADV bike for the back roads in north Ont. and Newfoundland and Labrador, as gas station can be far apart in these place. On my KLR was getting just over 450 Km per tank and just made it to the next gas station a couple of times. When touring I have enough to carry with out having to carry extra gas.
Thanks for sharing!
I understand and accept your opinion from your perspective as a lone traveler. I also like the tenere better. But 95% of my tours are with a passenger. I like it and I usually go along dirt roads in mountains, with holes, and all kinds of irregularities, even with a passenger. (Of course we go slowly with care) Which bike would you recommend for 2 people with a small part of off-road use? I think about Tracer07 a lot but it doesn't have enough height to the ground. I think about Tenere, but it's not very comfortable for the passenger, I'm left with the KTM. what is your perspective?
My opinion it doesn't matter because I am not going to ride your motorcycle.
I've never been a fan of beaks on motorcycles either. How was the seat?
The seat is okay.
Thanks brother
Any time!
The cruise control, quickshifter and some rider modes are actually an optional extra which expires after 1000miles or so. The rally pack is a software upgrade to retain these features. Some dealers include it as a free incentive...
Interesting so is it worth it rn I see it on fb used for 12k?
Vielen dank für Video! Alles war einfach und klar! Herzlichen Gruß aus Russland!

I just bought this model not even 1 hour ago! I hope you give it a good review =)
The review is fair and honest!
Haha. You know he doesn't like expensive bikes for people under 6 foot tall😂.. joking.. congrats man!👍
It doesn't matter what I like the reviews that I make are always fair and honest.
@@motorcycleadventures I'm kidding.. you actually sound impressed.. but I'm only half finished with your video in the ads now 😎 I watch ads for you since I can not contribute with no job 😂
I’ve had mine for about two weeks. Tech pack installed. Heated seat and grips on the way. Scorpio maverick alarm installed. I’m 5’6” 127 or so. This bike is perfect for me. I love it. I had a HD Iron 883 with a ton of extras. I loved that bike but definitely a night and day difference.
Good bike Pavlin. I like it
Good!
I think all street bikes of any model have seat heights of that height or lower.. 👍 I didn't like the mirrors 😁 .. I think adjustable seat for that model. Maybe you had it in the lower position?
Hm...i am 174, and this would be a massiv hp upgrade from my old f650.. but im stil waiting for a adv bike from Honda like a 800cc ish. Been looking at the Tenere from Yamaha too. Think Yamaha more than enogh hp, and nicer suspensjon, or wil the seat be to high u think. Happy riding!
It will be too high for you.
Got a 2019 790 adv R. Here is my summary: engine is very good from 3.500 rpm, lower than that it lacks grunt and is viby (but is a ktm, is part of the brand to have vibrations), suspension in off road is way above my level of riding so no complaints there, but if you hit potholes on the street it can feel very stiff even if set for comfort. Brakes are not that great in my opinion, sometimes they feel kind of cheap. Quickshifter is good but could be better with smoother transitions below 5000 rpm. Sotck R seat is a piece of wood, i do not jnow what is ktm´s problem with seat foams they are always so hard and uncomfortable, i added gel to mine and is a whole different story. Wind protection is awful of you are 185cm or taller, the S windshield produces way to much buffeting for highway cruising and the R windshield gives no protection at all but the wind blast is cleaner so is better than the S. I got handlebar risers because i´m 190cm tall so for stading up they were necessary. Fuel consumption is veeeery good for a bike this fun, it has better fuel consumption than my previous versys 650, while having way more torque and power (also being lighter), i love how light the bike feels in offroad and how good its balance is. In my country there is no triumph dealer, yamaha has not introduced the t700, so the only competition was the bmw 850gs and i did not like it because is heavier, no adjustable front suspension, less fuel capacity and IS MORE EXPENSIVE. So the ktm was a no brainer for me, although i admit that if i had the chance to get the yamaha, i would have preferred the t700 because of its simplicity and yamaha´s reliability
Thanks for sharing your experience!
We know... “Absolutely Not” 😂. Just joking man. Keep making videos. We like them no matter if you gonna buy the bike or not 👍🏻.
I appreciate that!
My fvt company ktm in the world due to its reliability durability
Ok
Thanks for your test ride & rewiew. This bike is 18137€ here in Finland, and R model +1500€ more
Oh wow! That is a lot of money!
Wow, I can't believe how expensive is there in your country. I live in upstate New York and the prices on that model is $13,100, the R model is $14,200, and the R Rally model is $20K.
Rally version is something completely different.
@@franklin23st In 'Murica they have very low sales taxes and motorcycles are cheap, but they have insane health care insurance costs (a family of 4 people paying more than a $1000 a month) we europeans don't have, we also have free education, even universities are free. Also Finland does not have any yearly inspection for motorcycles. Well, the tax for motorcycles is insane in Finland but you pay that only once. Also, buying a motorcycle is optional, healthcare is more important.
On my demo ride of the 890 i noticed an agricultural engine noise on idle which disappeared once ridng the bike... to be honest I didn't wear my earplugs as I always do !
However, those ergo's...hmmm
I'm 6ft tall, 32" leg inseam.
Styling and colour choice is a bit radical too
My knees were a little bent and troubled afted an hour, but the dealer said i could have raised the seat by 20mm !
Curious...
Id have to try it again before I would purchase one of these then.
I would also spec their heated comfort seat, bar raisers, handguard upgrades and a taller screen.
Amazing, FUN, capable bike.

# very useful sensible, helpful and honesty review, I'm a beginner motorcyclist end am small 166cm, currently I ride a naked bike Honda but he is not comfortable in highway, so which bike of this equation is right for me? I drive daily to work in the city and also the highway (Commuting) and sometimes during a weekend round of recreational so, which one? is a good bike for commuting honestly? daily use and weekend touring, of perhaps recreation purpose? crossover or adventure bike, so what is your opinion? Triumph 850/900 or BMW 750/850/ F900xr…..
Any way
My opinion it doesn't matter because I am not going to ride your motorcycle! Test a few models and you will know.
Did you test the bikes top speed ? What is the fastest you have ridden the KTM 890 ?
No I didn't! The max that I got was around 170km/h.
Its not just because of your size Pavlin. Its also the proportions. I am 175 and i have the 790. For me its also a little too low during riding, i had to lower the pegs and use the high Position of the seat. For 175 my legs are just a little long for this bike. I love it anyway
Good to know.
@@motorcycleadventures the difference for you - if you should test the 'R' one day - will be 3 cm more seat height. For a tall guy like you the bike could look still "small" - not a bad thing anyway.
Hello... have you tried cfmoto 800 mt touring?
No
I'm amazed how well people drive there.
True
My brother just bought this model. The seat is adjustable in height. At the moment I can see on the video that it is at its lowest.
I know but this is not going to make a big difference.
Like your review! On paper this seems like a great bike, powerful, light, well equipped. Regarding price it seems you pay a lot for useless electronics crap like cornering abs. As far as I’m concerned reliability with KTM remains an issue, 790 had a lot of problems and it is still early to say if this one will be better. Above all the fact they now build it in China is a major NO for me(and this certainly explains the availability issues). I mean this is not a utilitarian bike, it is a luxury that you own for your leisure, so brands should respect their identity and culture and keep manufacturing where they belong.
Agree with this statement!
Yup 100% . China is an evil empire that is beta testing every anti sovereignty agenda of the NWO . So sorry for the citizens , this world is a mess .
@@hardworkingamerican8847 i'd say china follow their interests, which is fair but not a reason for us to be weak and abandon all our manufacturing. Ktm should have the guts to tell its customers that its made in austria, and maybe it's more expensive but those looking for price will not buy this bike anyway. Instead they just are being stupid and loosing customers. Not sure they will win some as if I was chinese i'd buy chinese bikes
@@juls4872
I thought the big deal about KTM was that they were made in America . Haven't kept up on trends or such several years because all I ever do is eat sleep work , the latter was tricky in 2020 because of the elitist takeover of the world through the biggest psyop since sept 11 '01 .
I have an 890 Adventure - it was made in Austria. If the VIN starts with VBK then the country of origin is Austra.
So if I wanted to take this bike from top of South America to the bottom -- through 50-50 -- is this a good choice? I own a F850GSA and took it from Miami to Thailand -- 20,000km in 5 months -- but it was heavy at times. I'm looking to cut weight on off-road. Thoughts?
Any bike will do the job!
@@motorcycleadventures hahaha. True, but I am more needy than you :).
The price is now high like the 790 ADV at the beginning, after one year was 790 ADV cheaper than the Tenere or the same price (South Germany). For that, what they(KTM) put in the bike, the TENERE looks expensive. But Yamaha Tenere is my favorite, but the price of this bike don't go down, because of this hype around it.
Ok
The Tenere is pretty overpriced actually. 10000€ is too much for what is offered. A friend of mine just bought the new 1100 Africa twin DCT, with full extras for not even 2000€ more.
@KTMARV 1 I guess you don't mean dollars but weight? If so then true. I wasn't comparing like for like. I was comparing bang for buck, or in other words how much you get for your money. And how good the quality of the components is that you're getting for what you pay.
And the price difference is minimal but the difference in quality and the added extras are immense.
Not saying you should get one over the other. All I am saying is that the Tenere is ridiculously overpriced. Yama is easily asking 3000€ more then the machine is actually reasonably worth
@KTMARV 1 You didn't read what I wrote did you? You can exchange the word Africa twin with a lot of different bikes. That's not the point.
All I am saying is that the Tenere is overpriced.
@KTMARV 1 That doesn't mean it can't be overpriced no? It's a newly developed chassis, sure. But other then the new chassis, this bike doesn't add anything to justify the price. Also, look at how much the old tenere was when it came out....
On another note: Look at KTM. They are selling the 390 adventure for 6000€ while the Duke cost 5500€, so only 500€ more. Fair. And the bike is loaded with tech, which adds a very big chunk of development cost.
And then there is the Tenere. They took their CP2 engine from the MT07 (7000€) and put it in a newly developed frame. Didn't add any other stuff (which I find good too, don't get me wrong). But then they are charging over 10.000€ for it. Like. Wtf? Where are those extra 3000€ coming from?
This is what I am trying to say.
I find the high position on the seat to be very comfortable at 191cm tall.
Good!
It may be great bike to ride but wow the styling has never appealed. I wouldnt mind it being slightly top heavy if it meant we could lose the awful fuel tanks. Great review btw
Fair enough!
Does it have low rpm assist so you don't stall the bike ?
No
BTW: I love the idea of a Tenere but for me -- I, like you, travel long distances and I want a bigger fuel tank. A 700 Tenere with 200 mile range would be so stressful for me when I'm in Peru desert, or up in Andes far from the next town and no gas stations around -- even with extra gas on back. Also on long rides in middle of nowhere, I def want cruise control -- its a game changer. So the 890 fits that need I think. If Yamaha made some options for a bigger tank and cruise control and heated handlebars, I would rather have a simpler bike like that. I love my F850GSA -- for long range comfort, nothing beats it -- but in Kazakhstan off-road remote situations for example, I hated the weight.
Fair enough!
Have you ever changed the spark plugs? You have to dismantle the half bike
It is what it is!
Is the KTM 390 Adventure more nimble/ agile (even more toyish) compared to the bigger brother 790 or 890 Adventure? It is little over 30 KG difference. I know you reviewed all three Adventures already, thats why I ask ;).
Yes it is.
@@motorcycleadventures thanks for the reply. Is it enough power for the higher altitudes (alps in Switzerland), or will it struggle due to lower oxygen level and mountainous rides? I am still looking for a great bike for the touring purpose from Germany to Greece and vice versa.
@@sportify4849 regarding high altitudes: I wrote my 1090 up to 4900 metres, there was no loss of Power at cruising speed up to 100 km/h or when accelerating. Same with a F650GS. I guess the EFI adjusts the fuel to Air ratio according to the oxygen saturation. In Addition a friend has ridden his 390 Duke at Gotthardpass - Grimselpass etc. with no issues.
still have those Duke 1 mirrors.
Yes
❤️ my 990SMT
Ok
Your right about the valve stem.. it's something others have mentioned is not so great. 👍 Tires could be better if you want to go off road. This bike is for masses and shorter people I think 👍 good points. This one probably is not going to take much business from the Tiger rally pro or YAMAHA Tenere
It is what it is!
@@motorcycleadventures you liked it.. come on.. just admit it 😂. Haha. Your newest member.👍 Oh.. I know they have much higher price in some countries. That kind of messed up the value too..
I like it. great bike to ride but not to own!
the biggest adventure to get "adventure" is to purchase it for 14 k euro
No way!
I would expect that 890 R is raising the seat height by raising the whole bike (increase of ground clearance) including the footpegs. Therefore the seating position between normal version and R will prbbly be identical
Ok
but to be quite honest Im not 100% sure…its what logic tells me though🤷♂. In any case great review👍. I now booked a brand new 2023 890 adventure for approx 12k EUR so very much looking forward to it. My first road bike ever after 8 yrs of racing enduros and hard enduro on 300 EXC, so I hope it wont be too overpowered for me @@motorcycleadventures
still in Berlin area?
Left on the 11th of April.
hot damn i want one
Good bike!
Ok.. a Rally seat that is higher.. the foot peg brackets modified to lower foot pegs. Little better windshield. A tank guard kit and better bash plate. And 3k Euro price drop? Then it's good to go? 😂 I'm with that all the way 👍 Maybe a spring change. 🤔 the tanks look so strange but never heard of any problem besides fuel guage is rubbish.
It is what it is! Only the time will proof is it good or not!
It might drop it after one year as they did with the 790 Adventure.
Who knows....
You should have tried to put the front seat in the higher position.
It won't makes much difference.
@@motorcycleadventures How do you know since you have not tried it? It does. Also, what kind of a dealer is that which provided the bike to you w/ the seat in the lower position considering your size?
I have one and it does make a difference. Knees aren’t as bent when seated.
@@motorcycleadventures How can you be credible in forming and communicating an opinion on the entire motorcycle without trying to set the rider's seat in its higher position, without mentioning that the seat is adjustable upwards (at no extra cost, since you are so much cost driven and typically denigrate quality motorcycles on price reasons alone) and without mentioning that there are optional seats which are much higher than the standard seat?
Nice bike
Sure is!
Cool
Thanks, man!
tenere, less ground clearence, same suspenssion travel at same time higher seat, tenere have road bike engine, no dry sumpf, even bigger crf engine, but have more ground clearence for the same seat height. 790 was a jerky on low rpm, they added more weight to the fly wheel in this engine, and look, it can be ride under 4000 rpm. have more torque than tenere and can cary stuffs and people more easier than tenere to the long distance. it looks like a big anteater. :). the engine is inline 2 cylinder, but with 75 degree crank, it have firing order like 1290 super adventure. :)
Still don't like it or want it!
I'd get this bike but I don't like balancing on my tippie toes. The 890 duke R is perfect height for me
Ride whatever is good for you, man!
I have 1,85cm 100kg
What size are your revit jacket? And your pants?
Thanks
Jacket 2XL, pants XL
@@motorcycleadventures thank you very much
Anytime!
i owned a KTM myself and still like the brand in general.
but i dont care if the 790/890 is any good, its just ugly af from the side.🤦♂️😂
i would never buy one. i get the idea with the lower tank, but it ruins the look for me.
although the market is pretty tight right now, i woud much rather prefer a used 1050/1090/1190.
good review as usual👍
At first i did not like aesthetics on the 790 advR but then it grew in me, now I own one and i think it is absolutely beautiful LOL hahaha, but i agree that the looks of the 1190/1090 are the best! and also the looks of the 990 on white color scheme are amazing (for me)
I also prefer the old design but I don't think that they will ever go back!
Ah, my hometown! Known crossroads
Good!
@@motorcycleadventures Plus, Me owning an 2023 Model 890 adv recently.
Looking forward if this knee ankle will become an issue
Thanks for sharing!
Interesting, how KTM creates a huuuuge gap between the best value bike in the market 390Adventure around 6000 Euro, and this... Looking forward to the 490 Adventure, hopefully the frame size will be compatible with grown Europeans :D
It is what it is!
I think we forget everything when we ride any bike!
Not really but kind of!
Great bike but realistically I would probably get a japonese bike, for the price and reliability
True
Aren't you even a little enticed to replace your Yamaha with offerings from KTM or the 700 Tenere?
KTM no, Tenere 700 yes and I will, just don't know when.
It's a pity it wasn't a KTM 690 enduro test, I know you don't like to much KTM bikes , but the 690 is the only dual sport in Europe, easy to change to light adventure bike.
Easy to change? Not really! The review of 690 will be online on Monday.
T7 all the way!!
Cool!
Very impressive on paper and as long as you stay close to a dealer no doubt a great bike. But. Too many reliability issues with ktm for me to trust as a travel bike and that is perhaps the most important thing for me. I have yet to meet any 790 or 890 on long trips. (But I would love to be proven wrong). I see lots of Honda or Yanaha or anything Japanese, no matter what age. And the ktm is a lot of dollars.
But to each their own. We are all different.
Happy travels whatever you ride.
I can confirm that I also haven't seen any of these on the road.
@@motorcycleadventures There is a reason for that, I think.
Yes! It is great bike to ride but not to own!
@@motorcycleadventures that sums it up in my humble opinion. But to each their own. It's what makes life interesting.
I have 16k miles on my 790. No mechanical issues at all. None. I also, took a 2015 round trip from Atlanta up the MABDR, to Tuktoyatuk and then beyond the Arctic Circle in Alaska. Not one mechanical issue. Saw several GS’s and Africa Twins on the side of the road though... Rode an 890 Rally the other day. Best adventure bike I have ever ridden (I have ridden T7s, GS’s KLRS, DRs, V-Strom’s, etc, etc.).
Although the KTM 890 is a large bike it looks like a toy under your frame, Pavlin. You need a taller bike. For the price of a KTM 1290 your could travel round the world on your trusted Tenere 660. Which is much more adventurous than buying a new bike (and a sometimes troublesome from Austria) ;-) All the best, Günter
I agree, Günter!
@@motorcycleadventures I guess you prefer riding to buying. Like me.
Always!
I just have a DR650 I would kill to have that one .. it's just so expensive..
It is very expensive, no doubts about it!
👍
I'd love to have a brand new dr 650! XD
(Wich is impossible in Europe by the way)
The tank is ugly, but the good thing about its shape is that you can extend your legs forward and rest them on the tank on long highway trips.
Not really useful for what you think.
@@motorcycleadventures I tried it out myself when I test rode the bike. For me it's really comfortable. After a long while of riding regularly you can extend your legs forward and rest them on the tank
So Guys would i buy this Bike? ....Absolutely NOT!!! Every single time ;-) You rock
I am honest as always.
Nice Video, again. Thank you. I dont like the design of the KTM and i am unsure about the engine wich is made in China.
Fair enough! Thanks for taking the time!
Engine is not made in China.
@@pgkr67 790 and 890 are made by CF Moto in China since 2020
3:31 - "this motorcycle is not for offroad"... I'm confused
the R is the offroad-focused model. this one has a lot of concessions for the street - less powerful suspension, street tires, high windscreen, low fender.
Exactly, the R version is more off-road orientated.
Good bike but a look that only its Mother could love.
Could be!
I would need to see if any of these will last past 50,000 miles...
I am also very curious!
@@motorcycleadventures I bought a 2022 BMW 1250 R/T so far, I rode about 5,000 miles I like it a lot...
I don't like the R/T as much as I thought even though it is way nice it is also way big, and I am not...Im going to sell it and buy a KTM 1290 Super Duke GT or possibly this bike the 890 Adventure...the 890 is more practical but I do like my hotrods and the 1290 is good for that.
20:22 "The price is a bit high 4700" :0 :)
Sorry, 14,700 euros.
@@motorcycleadventures Would you rather opt for the new Harley Panamera instead?
