@@LmAnubis I literally saw it while watching the video and didn't think much of it until you said that at the end of the video lol
I was the verifier for a short while and actually suggested the final part be changed to match the golden temple theme. I really loved the original so it sucked to see a remake missing what was arguably the most important part. Unfortunately my suggestion seemed to fall on deaf ears, but the level was practically finished at that point so I don't blame them. Great video!

I think the Golden is one of the more unique top 1s we've had

The Road To Eldorado was actually from Dreamworks, they would sometimes early in their lifetime make 2D animated movies. A lot of people get the two mixed up (especially with the 2D animated movies).
I was about to comment this lol, confused me since dreamworks makes some underrated stuff
Glad I’m not the only one who was gonna point that out, Dreamworks definitely deserves more credit for their 2D stuff
Which makes this level even moreso of a miracle. Didn't Dreamworks make El Dorado out of spite for Disney? Together with Shrek

I have seen the entire development process of this level. I've seen it being built in Discord VCs, I even have some never released preview videos that were shared on a private discord. This is also the reason why I like this level so much.

Pretty interesting that there are two lost levels called Atlantis, one from Majacko and one from you, both projected to be one of the hardest levels of their day.

“Tartarus is at number 9.” those words make me feel old. I remember when I started really getting into the game was when that debate between Tartarus and The Golden was sparking. Seeing this video is almost like a nostalgia trip even tho I haven’t been active in the community for a very long time.

It’s crazy how much LManubis has done for this game: Created El Dorado, which inspired The Golden, hosted AA and Nightrider, two amazing megacollabs, and made serpent’s wrath (best bossfight no cap)
Yea, Serpent's Wrath 100% deserved all the hype it got, especially the ghost snake, it's just amazing. Probably the first good randomized bossfight in a popular level
The Golden is one of the few top 1's that actually looked cool while not being hell themed

These videos are super cool. Maybe you could make more videos talking about the backstory of some of your earlier levels and creations with tidbits of interesting information about them that people might not know
Great video! Somehow I knew that you were gonna mention the movie in this video and yeah it is really good. Also fun fact: I was not gonna use the tzv2 song but thunderzone for the level but then I discovered about the beauty of its second part.
Should've used thunderzone v1 for the sequel instead.
The Golden is one of my favourite levels, and also the one that took me the most time and attempts to beat, this video was so fun to watch :)

I feel like this quote summarizes the whole idea of this video. You never start something with knowledge on how the outcome will be, but rather the little things that you do build up to the end.
By the way, this was an amazing video, I loved the story-like feel to it.

just wanna let you know, el dorado is still one of my favorite levels. Found it on gdforums in the old top list and beat it when I was in middle school and it was my first vid on youtube. So yea, thank you for making it.
When I saw your levels with historical themes back in 2016, I thought you were the type of person who really liked the world's history and took inspirations from it (Levels like captains voyage, antique circles, el dorado, and your ign AncientAnubis made me think about this)

i think the idea of the golden city being only in the endscreen actually works good, it's like a reward for the hard way through this deadly jungle
The golden is such a cool idea. I love tg and el dorado and it actually inspired me to make a more dungeon type version of el dorado and I really wish I got the motivation to finish the layout and decorate it.
sorry i know this is totally off topic from the video but hearing you talk about littlebigplanet briefly and listening to the savannah int music in the background brought back so many memories. also this kind of content is really cool! i really appreciate that you're creating unique content in geometry dash since it's pretty hard to come by. i remember trying so many times to recreate spaceships from starwars and temples from indiana jones in different video games when i was younger, so it's nice to hear that you went all the way with one of your childhood movies.

The golden always interested me cuz of the deco and song being pretty cool. But I mean recently I started trying to play it and it's actually kinda fun. Good gameplay, good deco, good atmosphere.

you are a legend anubis! and the golden is one of my most favorite levels in gd because of how unique it is, also back then i like el dorado and i want to try it as my 14th demon (back in early 2.1) but i didn't get to complete it because lack of skill but it was still amazing to me and im surprised that we have the same interest about el dorado im really amazed by this topic too and i love how mysterious and fascinating this city is and seeing a level with this theme really makes me a little happy that peoples are actually interested in el dorado (or the golden). I think you should release Atlantis too i'll be really cool to see a ocean themed top 1 or top 10 or whatever it places on the list.

Road to El dorado is actually from Dream works. Not Disney.
People commonly compare it to it because of the artstyle. As some animators from Disney moved from here.

Nice video :)), although I did notice a slight oversiight when you were talking about how much Disney 2D Films influenced you, and the Road to El Dorado was made by Dreamworks, but it's alright since you were talking about Disney and that generation or era when 2D Animation Films was in their "renaissance" era and the Road to El Dorado is made in that Era.
