When it comes to sports cars, I personally take a liking to brighter colors, especially red or yellow. It just stands out even more amongst the crowd of grey, white, silver, and black cars that make the majority of what you see on the road. There is however one grey color I don't mind seeing on a sports car and that is the blueish Nardo Grey you see on some BMW's. Currently drive a Red Supra GR as my weekend car, and plan to color my 2001 Pontiac Trans Am Nardo Grey

When I am buying a new cars. I have a strict policy of no white - black or any shades in between; pretty much it's all what you can see on the roads these days and far from the old days when consumers where open to order cars with real colors.

If you seen old footage of the 70's, it was neat seeing so many variety of colors on the road, browns, reds, greens, orange, beige, etc. Now it is majority grey, silver, black, and white. Their is a study showing that in times of economic down turn people tend to purchase cars with more conservative colors for resale value which make sense for normal cars, but I always think sports cars should have exiting bright colors.
I'm surprised white is so popular and yellow so unpopular. Among sports cars red and to a lesser extent yellow seem pretty common. These rankings change with the times. It seems to me that silver was especially popular in the 90's. I think blue might have an advantage in that more different shades are available.

I want my next car to be yellow or gold or some variant. I love acapulco gold but not available - yellow is the first color your eye registers. I also like purple and orange. My opinion is that the gray/gray tones are a trend with the late 30's, early 40's generation - they like everything gray. White is #1 because is the least expensive and the paint lasts the longest due to no pigment. Black used to be "dirt shows too much" but black is "cool" and looks the hottest when done right. I want my car to be seen asap so gives people time to stop and I am a careful driver, meaning I stay away from the groups of cars on the highway. I have a red Dodge truck - cause trucks are red :)

The available colors have nothing to do with popularity. Manufacturers do not give consumers much choice.Good luck finding one that is not white, black or something in between. It's as if marketing departments are allergic to pigments or are completely color blind. They mostly paint them White, Gray and Black, with metallic versions of each that they call Pearl, Silver or Charcoal. Sometimes consumers can get some kind of a shade of blue or red if they search high and low.
I think other colors would be more popular if they were available. But recently I've noticed a new trend in pigment colors, but toned town with gray. Basically they are gray with color undertones. This is a good start. I've seen some green under-toned gray colors that I like. Now if they would just squirt a little more green in there I'd buy one like that.

Best color in Florida with not having a garage is grey. No matter how much it rains or mud. Car looks clean. Paint takes heat and stays in good shape with waxing here there.
Yellow looks good 😊 n vette & Porsche . Really not my thing.
I love Black. You better have garage. Looks dirty most time. If I could afford my dream Ferrari. It would be black. Waxed with baby diaper. 😂
Red - Deep Burgandy all way.
Blue & Green our my top choices
