- Okay! So even though I don't know what constitutes a full lady finger cookie, I still made this turn out wonderfully!! Now I know why that girl on the cruise kept talking about "Tiramisu"(said in the most high pitched, 80's valley girl accent)

Tiramisu is one of our family favorites as it has special memories of our daughter Kristen who we lost to cancer. She used to always order it at one of our favorite Italian restaurants. Always have to have a good cup of coffee to go with the tiramisu! 😋
We are able to buy packs of Savoiardi (lady finger biscuits) made in Italy (I’m in Australia) and they are packed as single not double for use in making Tiramisu. Looked delish! 🐨👍

I like to use the hard ladyfingers, I get at my Italian market.. they hold up better, in my opinion.. It looks wonderful..
Try looking in the cookie isle at your local grocery store for Ladyfingers. Usually they are found on a upper shelve. Can't remember spelling, but it starts with Sv with black, red packaging. That is where I fine mine when I'm going to make Tiramisu. Buy at the Kroger store here in Indianapolis, IN. Yummy Dessert.❤❤

I make this recipe all the time we temper the egg yolks with heavy cream and add rum. There is a rum extract if you want that extra flavor. I use coffee liqueur

My Walmart has mascarpone cheese with the regular sour cream, cottage cheese etc. it wasn’t expensive.

If you want to make an easy, less expensive, kid friendly version?
I call it kidamisu 😂
Ingredients:
Ice cream sandwiches
Whipped cream (whipped topping)
Chocolate (or caramel) syrup
Crushed candy bars (your choice)
Place one layer of ice cream sandwiches in a freezer safe pan.
Cover with whipped topping. Add a bit of chocolate syrup and crushed candy bar.
Repeat.
Store in the freezer until almost serving time.
This is a great first dessert for kids to make.

I've always use single layers of lady fingers in tiramasu. I also assemble it in a spring form pan with the sides lined in lady fingers that aren't dipped in espresso for events that call for a bit of an impressive presentation (birthdays, holidays, or similar).
I made it last Christmas for first time I couldn't find lady fingers so I made biscotti and used it they were delicious
Like any recipe there are several ways to make it. I had two versions of it in an Italian cookbook that I gave to my sister.

One lady finger is both pieces, the way you did it, is only a half a ladyfinger. I make Tiramisu quite often, my favorite dessert! Just to let you know, if you can't find ladyfingers, you can also use pound cake! Homemade or store bought like Saralee. I prefer homemade.😊 Also mascarpone is pronounced with a long E, not EE, lol! You're so funny! 😊

Love, love, LOVE me some tiramisu! I've made it plenty of times and I lay a single layer of lady fingers (one...not two) and brush on the espresso/coffee mix then add another layer of ladyfingers in the opposite direction (brushed again with the espresso/coffee) then add the mascarpone mix on top. And my cocoa powder is mixed with cinnamon and sprinkled on top. YUM! I also don't use liquor but I use real vanilla extract in its place. Anyway...YUMMMMM!!!! Yes...I would have been that girl praising the tiramisu...Lol! If you love coffee you'll love tiramisu.

One cookie is a lady finger not the two together. I have seen Tiramisu dishes with lady fingers around the side of the dish as well. Looks delicious, great job! It's going to be a wonderful Italian feast at the end of the week.
I love this dish! I used strong coffee, I made my lady fingers from scratch, and instead of the cheese I used cream cheese and didn’t even use the alcohol. It’s so amazing.

My favorite desert..l make it for special occasion around here and l really receive a lot of compliments. You got the correct lady fingers..and of course you soak them in the liquid. The cookie ones do not work. They are supposed to be soft and spongy…love your videos, you and Bryant are definitely my kind of people. God bless you both. Put the fingers in the bowl and pour some of the liquid over them. Also a single piece is considered a finger, makes it go further.❤

Happy Anniversary....... I just celebrated my 56 Anniversary the day after Thanksgiving. We had a great Thanksgiving and great Anniversary..... we knew it would be the last one. He had only a month before been diagnosed with three brain cancerous tumors and one in the thyroid. After hearing the different treatments and 4 doctors said no surgery and no treatment would cure it and the treatments were very hard on the patient and they were not even sure if it would extend his life any. So he decided no treatment. Hospice was called in and they had given him 3-6 months but he only made it a month and 5 days. So on December 5 the lord took him. He was prepared to go, he only did not want to leave me. We did have a lot of conversations in that last days. He was alert but really confused at times but we had that blessed time. About 48 hours before his passing he stopped talking but I kept talking to him ( I am a retired nurse) as I knew hearing is the last thing to go. Thanks for listening, I am still trying to make each day without him. I pray each night and thank the Lord for helping me thru that day and asking for him to do the same the next day. Love your videos the cooking and the family and couch time.

Funny, Minnesota is having a heat wave of -2 instead of-35, lol! All is well, having hardly any snow and I’m fine with that. Last year lots and lots of snow and just as cold as this year! Blessings to all and stay warm!
Hi Leslie and Bryant! Happy 26th Wedding Anniversary to you both! I have never had that dessert either. I am not even going to try to spell it! LOL! Looks delicious. We had another 2 to 3 inches of dry fluffy snow again today. We already had 20 inches of snow that has not melted. It hasn’t been warm at all for it to melt. Right now it is 9 degrees out. By Saturday night into Sunday the temperature with the wind chill is to be minus 34 degrees. We didn’t have church last Sunday because of the extremely cold temperatures. So I’m praying it won’t be that cold again this Sunday. Last Sunday was negative 44 with the wind chill. Also please pray for my oldest son, Jeremy. He was rear ended tonight in his new Tesla car. He is a doctor in Burlington, Iowa and was on his way to a meeting at the Fire Station there. He used to be a firefighter/paramedic for 8 years there. He teaches paramedic classes as well as being an ER doctor. We are so thankful that no one was hurt int his accident. Jeremy said it was really slick out with this new snow that we have had. The lady behind him couldn’t get stopped. He is sad about his car but at least it is still driveable. Because his car is a Tesla he has to get it fixed at a Tesla collision center. The nearest one is 2 to 2-1/2 hours away. And praise the Lord my foot is finally feeling better. I haven’t had to take very much pain medication the last couple of days. Basically just at night time. So I am going to try to make it to praise team rehearsal on Saturday and see if I can stand up for 20 minutes without much pain. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I know it is long. Bryant needs to teach you how to build a fire. I mean, the safe and proper way. It’s an important thing to know, in case he’s tied up somewhere etc. maybe get a duraflame log to have on hand, easy to light. I say thst because you never know…. I’ve been alone 11 years and I heated the house with wood for long time. I now worry about electric going out, and not having a woodstove. Im going to look into having a small woodstove out in. I have a huge Fischer grandpa when they made in USA, but it’s too big for this house. Anyway, no harm in mentioning. Not being critical. We live in such uncertain times.

Tiramisu is one of my favorite desserts, but I haven't been able to find a recipe easy enough to make in my small, apartment kitchen. Every other Tiramisu recipe that I have found involved using a spring form pan and several more steps than the recipe that you have demonstrated. I will definitely be trying this recipe. A hint for those who may have trouble finding Lady Fingers or Mascarpone Cheese, I found both in a small, locally owned Italian Deli in a nearby town.
Those temps are so cold for you! I am very grateful I have had heat. Hot water is what I am still waiting for but eventually I will get it back. Even being below zero for several days I will take that over 80! Like you say, it depends on what you're used to. Happy Belated Anniversary!
