Centurions (and lasers mostly) have a falloff in damage, they deal more damage if they are closer to the target. Thats why it is hard to determine their damage, sometimes they seem super strong, sometimes bad. DGun kills everything with 1 shot, even wrecks. So if you know you won't be able to reclaim wrecks before the enemy occupies that area, you can dgun the biggest wrecks quickly to deny metal.
Teeeeeeeechnically the D-gun doesn't 1 shot everything. It's possible to not kill a behemoth if you just clip it with the edge of the d-gun. I believe the d-gun does something of the order 30K damage per tick that it hits the target. That's not terribly useful but if you aim it right you can leave a lot of T3 wrecks allowing you to resurrect them even after dgunning.
GGS, love watching you play this instead of SC2 ;) Once you get the all the game mechanics 'onder de knie' you'll be unstoppable. I'm scared for my OS :P Just some feedback: - 3:12 You only need 1 spacing between wind mills to prevent chain reactions - Yes you can rez coms, you can rez any wreck that still resembles the units, if it is just some debris eat it. - If you think a game is over use command in all chat '!resign' this triggers a resign vote for the team - Give units to rebuild fallen players - Q + middle mouse is just a ping (you've figured out how to add text by double tapping Q) - Use fight command with rocket bots to have them engage at maximum range. They're great for volley damage and then retreat. Never have friendlies in front of them while they fire. They're very strong. - Use 'Y' to set a target (shift to que targets) then micro your hard out. Targets will stay locked untill stop command and reappear if units dip out and in from the fog of war. - 5:55 Use your commander to block enemy disintegration guns (Dgun) - 11:47 if you don't have time to rez, eat the metal before your enemy does. - ALT + number autogroups units in that control group. newly rezzed, build or gifted units will be added to your set autogroup. In settings you can have this persist through games. - 17:45 Minimum wind of 5 is OP, especially as Armada. No basic solar needed. - 18:13 Yes, you can assist ally labs. Opening with each other assisting one lab is called a Commie build (for communist). You see this a lot for fast T1 early pushes or fast T2. -19:41 3 Centurion will kill a com quick and don't care much about one LLT. Unless dumb micro. -21:52 Demonstration of the poor centurion micro ;) -24:22 Good demonstration of centurion micro (add in repair to become Godlike) -24:37 Less Right click, more Right Drag, Split units, can't Dgun 2 things at the same time
i would add he need to build a metal storage when those 2 commands died and then sucked them up instead of floating metal, could have possibly gone t2 fast with that
You need to skirmish back and forth with the rockets bots and force the enemy to engage into them while whittling down their static defenses. Its not about the one decisive engagement, but the consistent pressure they put in. Their dps is lower per metal, but they have decent burst and long range. I saw that you just run your pawns in while the rocket bots try to catch up, which is kinda the worst use case for them. Instead, try to shave off a few units every volley and keep the pawns in backup to stop faster units from running them down. On the other hand, Maces are stronger in straight up fights
Woo! I actually was so excited by the BAR content I had to go to your twitch channel and watch the vods so I've actually already seen these games. But I'm commenting anyway, keep them up!
I feel like after killing the enemy comander in the first game you had the oportunity to snowball out of control, you could have gone for T2 units or T2 economy with all the metal you had, but insted you stayed in T1 and never upgraded, wasted all your metal mass producing T1 and all the metal went in to a cementery in the middle T3 >>> T2 >>> T1 The units that cost more are usually a lot better and a grest upgraded from the cheaper ones but need a bigger economy behind aford them The commanders have like 1.2k metal each. Thats a lot. Also in the second game you say there is no metal in the map. But after killing two teams there were lik 4k or more scatered in the ground... just get like 3 revive bots and send them to reclaim, intantly get a bank big enought to finance T2.... Edit: just after writting this comment he start producing revive bots lol, kind of late bjt okay
I think focusing on the micro is just more fun for him. But yea UThermal still needs to learn how to scale the economy and tech up. He'll get there eventually. Its quite the difference from other rts.
With two coms worth of reclaim, you should have built a metal storage immediately, reclaimed both corpses, and went T2 bots. You probably would have won
A commander healing centurions is incredibly powerful, maybe you could try it out some time Edit: Commander explosions one shot everything buy T3, and you can rez every unit in the game including enemy commanders which then become your commander
Once you guys figure out the strengths/weaknesses of each unit things should go much better. I feel like even the average player isn't great at knowing when to field things like anti-swarm tanks, for example. And I get the impression one of the basic rock-paper-scissors is rocket > thug > swarm > rocket? (The swarm troops tend to be fast enough to charge into the rockets. Rockets can kite and outrange thugs (and hit them more often due to thugs' slow speed). And Thugs presumably are better than the others if they ever get into range, like if swarm troops have to deal with them? I'm not sure about that last part though, your own early tests with Thug-like troops didn't seem to decisively favor them over swarms.)
You can't waste i think, excess metal will be given to mate, or the reclaimer will stop harvest. So the opportunity to retake commander may not be interrupt i think.
Not true. You will overflow to teammates, but if they are also full, the metal will be wasted. (It’ll say “wasting metal” instead of “overflowing” at the top.
You should really learn some of the eco ratios. Your economy holds you back in so many of these games, usually because you're still neglecting to place or rebuild MEXs.
so painful watching that first game... cram trying to rez on the front while hes starving metal... Still great content but i can't wait for when he masters this craft as well
You need to learn t2 transition! And constantly skirmishing with rocket bots. That 2 com feed should have been used as a mega boost. You didn't even make the Geo :(
gg wp no ticks wtf? u HERETIC! 😂 u can see ur dmg done and take btw if change ur settings... also u can trade eco and units with ur allys looks like u do love the big fat grunt "centurion" 🧐😁
What you said about all these Units, but how they don't seem to be good/ effective - FAF solves this. The units have specific purposes and are good at the thing they do.

UThermal because of the video where you show me bar, i started playing the game
You're playing great especially since you started after uThermal.
You need to skirmish back and forth with the rockets bots and force the enemy to engage into them while whittling down their static defenses. Its not about the one decisive engagement, but the consistent pressure they put in. Their dps is lower per metal, but they have decent burst and long range.

More B.A.R. ! Damn the metrics =p
When u thermal discovers tier 2, it's all gonna be over.😅
Woo! I actually was so excited by the BAR content I had to go to your twitch channel and watch the vods so I've actually already seen these games. But I'm commenting anyway, keep them up!
~9:00 your con turrets were set to assist an engi who walked off, they were idle :'( leave it on f-move in the area to help everything. ggs!

Exactly this. Well, maybe + adv solar.
No need for so many nanos/build turrets at that time.
7:10: Share excess with allies. 9:20: There we go xD
8:40: Teammate: "I'm dying." Allies: "Sucks 2 B U."
32:26 Oh no, they asked for mercy T_T
Perfect to see before sleeping
I started play BAR too, because of u thermal! More this kind of content! Game is insane!
The content we all need.
A commander healing centurions is incredibly powerful, maybe you could try it out some time
Edit: Commander explosions one shot everything buy T3, and you can rez every unit in the game including enemy commanders which then become your commander
A com can survive another com’s explosion, but they have to be pretty high health
The rocket bots are long range skirmish unit to push LLTs and kite shorter ranged units. You didn't skirmish or kite the thugs
I like building energy storage early so I can quickly scale my economy in scenarios like the first game's commander trade
Rocket bots are good in big numbers, but you need them to keep moving in and out the range to maximize their reach, bc they are flimsy.
if u have a lot of Metal, build SolarPanel... after, then u have time u can reclaim it und build advSolPanel in ratio 2\1

Triple Nexus before spawning pull? Classic Terran build
Huh, getting TWO commander's worth of metal should have been a great boon.
love the bar content
uThermal im so happy ur in BAR bro.
Takemikazu here if my teammates defend the early game well i would have hard push but gg
Cool that you got into bar because of uthermal and now you're playing against him :)
"Way too high to be playing" LMAO
Why would you not use the reclaim from 2 dead commanders to transition to t2 instantly?
You can't waste i think, excess metal will be given to mate, or the reclaimer will stop harvest. So the opportunity to retake commander may not be interrupt i think.

@@DravenX37 Ok thx for the clue ^^
nice u and ur gang are getting good
I love the mechses!
Uthermal!! watch Rrandy play!!! With ur micro if u just understood the game u could be on his level!
chat telling them to build tidal genny but ZERO tidal value on this map
In team games, can you move your camera? it's blocking your team's economy
I think you could have easily gone t2 with two commander corpses
You should really learn some of the eco ratios. Your economy holds you back in so many of these games, usually because you're still neglecting to place or rebuild MEXs.
more BAR please :D
More BAR Pls!
so painful watching that first game... cram trying to rez on the front while hes starving metal... Still great content but i can't wait for when he masters this craft as well
at 16 minutes in the third game... i was screaming for the commander to eat the metal on the ground!
You need to learn t2 transition! And constantly skirmishing with rocket bots. That 2 com feed should have been used as a mega boost. You didn't even make the Geo :(
