Thanks for the memoriesBorn in Liverpool 1941 in 1946 moved to Leicester then went to Kingsteignton Devon in 1965/66 drove for HJT when they had about 8 trucks i did farm deliveries then drove for W L Vallance Heathfield 1966 to /72 first commer maxi load then AEC artic then Foden number 110 12 speed finally left W L Vallance to emigrate to USA 1972 i raced stock car Eddie 70 newton abbot & St Austell Cornwall 1968/72 Finally Retired in 2021 sold my 500 HP Freighliner Coranado Semi truck after my 80 th birth day march 2021 Now i live with my plane. Great video, brings back a lot of memories. Thanks for sharing. I grew up in Devon and remember all these companies. I used to work for A D Smythe in Barnstaple, before I had my HGV licence. Driving their van, forklifting in the yard and shunting, loading and unloading trailers, at the chipboard factory in South Molton. I drove an old MAN truck, with column gear stick, and quite happily drove around the factory all day without a licence, and no one said a word. Couldn’t do that nowadays. Happy times.
Good to see some of the old Haulage companies,sadly some no longer with us.Some other big name fleets from Devon would include Pollards,Georges,Fahey's,Bryans,Waines,Radfords,Heltor,Harpers,Rose Removals,Bob Hill,Stoford,Nick Rowell,Kays, just to mention a few.

It's a shame Axminster Transport wagons weren't shown. They had some nicely turned out Volvo's and Daf's,
