They didnt know either. The truth is, once you get health problems that are chronic, nothing in life prepares you for it and you just have to find ways to live with it. You learn what does and doesn't help control your pain. You go through many treatments that do nothing and feel discouraged every time something doesn't work. It's extremely tough and it drags many people into mental health problems but you only have one body and if you want to keep living, you keep trying treatments. You keep navigating bad days knowing not every day will be that bad. You find things that work such as therapy, the right med combo and learn to find joy in the little things. Chronic health problems are incredibly trying but every single human on this planet is able to find a way through it. I get the sentiment but it's just pure survival when it comes down to it.
I have chronic illness myself so if it sounds like I'm coming from experience, I am. You never know how strong you really are until being strong is your only option to continue living.

I have put this off for 3 years. Changed my diet exercised took herbs and still the fibroids grew. I had to come to terms that I was mentally physically and spiritually ready for the surgery. It took a while for me to get here but Im at peace about it.

So frustrating to see how many hoops these women needed to jump through to get the diagnosis and treatment that they needed. So many women I know have had to fight tooth and nail to get their voices heard by their own gp when they know something is wrong. The medical community needs to start listening to women when they speak rather than brushing them off because of stereotypes about women being dramatic and normalization of things that should not be normal (ie debilitating and extremely painful periods)

Bless you sisters for sharing your stories, I know it’s scary. I had uterine fibroid surgery at the end of 2017 (myomectomy) and the scariest part is that they didn’t know if they would be able to save my uterus or not, so Before surgery i signed a document that stated if my uterus was damaged due to the fibroids that they would do a full hysterectomy. That was pretty scary, as I don’t have kids but would like to have the option of giving birth in the future. Either way, surgery went great, uterus was fully intact, all fibroids were on the outside of the uterus. they removed 12 fibroids ranging from the size of a pea to a small squash... my belly before surgery was apparently the size of a woman who was 10-weeks pregnant. I was in the hospital for 4 days post surgery and the recovery took 6-weeks. I have more energy and my cycles are a lot better. I was told that the fibroids could come back, Doctor’s can’t tell me how fast that they can grow as it’s all based on hormones, so nothing in terms of diet that I can do (always helps to eat healthy tho). I was also told that bc the fibroids can come back that I should consider having kids within the next 5 years and that a total hysterectomy is recommended after I am done having kids to keep the fibroids from coming back.

Thank you for making this video! It's been almost one year since I had my fibroid removed through a laparoscopic myomectomy. Fibroids are so incredibly common for people with uteruses, especially for black people with uteruses, and doctors aren't always as helpful as they could be. It took me three doctors (and a healthy amount of begging) to get the treatment I needed. Listening to your body is SO important. You know it better than anyone else. I have written my story five times in this thread because my heart is literally aching over these stories and I am effing enraged at how deficient medicine is.... taking out a women's uterus is criminal and completely avoidable. I’m actually thrilled to see this video. I’m 33 and I been diagnosed with having Fibroids and of course, this affects everyone differently, I only had the very heavy cycle and now it’s becoming painful. I recently had and ultrasound and Ob appt shortly afterwards and the fibroid is 4cm and it’s laying across the bottom half of my uterus and on my bladder which make need to urinate frequently and urgently. I was like Bianca and blew it off but 2 summers ago I lost weight because i was actually working out but when my cycle came it was extremely heavy, losing the lining of my uterus every time I had to go to the bathroom for 7-10 days. I had an examine and my dr couldn’t see anything because there was so much blood on my uterus and I was not on my cycle at the time. I had a uterine biopsy done and now figuring what the next steps.

I’m Susan Ray from USA... I am the most blessed person on earth right now because i am free from fibroids...i am here to give my testimony about Dr OMO who helped me cure my fibroid, i want to inform the public how i was cured from (FIBROID) by Dr OMO Herbal Home, i visited different hospital but they gave me list of drugs which is very expensive to treat the symptoms and they never cured me. Three months ago a friend suggested that I should try herbal medicine from a very powerful herbal doctor called Dr OMO, I looked up his blog on the internet site and indeed he had immense success with his product. There were lot of persons posting their testimony about how he cured them. when i contacted him he gave me hope and send a Herbal medicine for me to take and how to take it... i took the herbal medicine for just 11 days and i noticed a huge change in my body system and i continued the medications for another 1 week and after that, Dr OMO asked me to go and do a text from the lab to see if i still have the sickness and to my greatest surprise my FIBROID is gone..my FIBROID result just came out negative. My doctor was shocked how i got cured. I am so happy as i am sharing this testimony. My advice to you all who thinks that there is no cure for FIBROID that is Not true...Remember health is wealth...you can contact him on him Email at dromo596@gmail.com and WhatsApp on +2349033505260... I personally know at least 3 ladies who have gone through a similar experience, including myself, and the most prevalent commonality between each of us (up in BC) is that full treatment took about 3 years to get to, and necessary surgical measures were not taken until symptoms were critical.

Ahh fibroids. My uterus is the size of a 7 month pregnant sized uterus because my fibroids are so big. I look full on pregnant. After years of dealing with this, im finally going to be getting surgery to get it removed, but they need to do a C section to get them out because they’re SO big. Hopefully they can save my uterus, because I really don’t want a hysterectomy. Looking pregnant when you can’t have children is such a trigger. I feel these women. So much empathy.

Oh sweetheart please consider other options before you do. Its diet related, please look up Dr Bergs info on Estrogen dominance. You need to start eating non GMO foods. Rainbow Organic. Its the pesticides sprayed on crops that mimics estrogen and causes estrogen dominance. I had two so big they ruptured during pregnancy and that was worse pain than childbirth. I wish i knew then what i know now. I have gotten rid of them by changing my diet. Organic whole plant based diet. Anti inflammatory rainbow food. I eat a little grass fed meat and fish but i feel ten years younger, no longer have pain, they have gone. please please follow the breadcrumbs, i don't trust doctors. They are in the business of medicating symptoms and removing body parts NOT functional medicine and integrative health. There are other options promise.

Waiting on the transvaginal ultrasound and gynecologist apt to confirm. I was having spotting each month. A month ago, that turned into a full blown period and hot flashes. I ended up in the ER with abdominal pain and mood swings while waiting on blood results and ultrasound. Praying that I don't have too many phone calls ahead until I can get care and relief.

I'm hearing, and seeing, a very frightening trend here-doctor's not adequately informing their patients, not informing them at all, or simply throwing pills at signs of something that could be serious. It's a well known fact that African American women are more prone to uterine fibroids, so why weren't these women treated more thoroughly and promptly?

So proud of the women for sharing their journey. I also, found out about two years ago that I have fibroids and let me tell you the symptoms are no joke. I am severely anemic. I have done over 4 blood transfusions within the two years, I just did another blood transfusing last week, I refused to do it earlier at the doctors suggestion and I ended up passing out at the hospital and we had to do a blood transfusion right away, the same goes for all the iron transfusion I have done. Taking Lupron, MRI scans , ultrasounds to find out where the fibroid and how large it is. This is no joke, I feel the same as the women who said, going out in public is hard because you don’t know if your going to bleed through your pad and have a embarrassing accident. I just want it out and when it out I pray that it doesn’t grow back but I have heard so many stories of it growing back and people saying what the point. The point is I want it out and it out now, fibroids does affect your way of life. When I am at work, I can’t function and be at 100% at home, I can be productive and do house chores, I don’t want to go outside because I don’t want embarrass myself or if I can’t get to washroom to change my pad, it soooo bad. I will be happy to get it rid of it.

I've had 4 fibroid removals by the age of 26, and I've had my symptoms regarded with so much suspicion because people think I'm being melodramatic about a heavy cycle. I've had cramps so bad I've ended up on the floor in a cold sweat on the verge of passing out, and at its worst, I was losing 1L of blood every month. I'm so lucky that my last removal and hormone treatment seems to have worked miracles for me, and I could cry just thinking about how it's given me a mostly normal quality of life now. Thank you so much for bringing light to this, Boldly.

Physically, I lose a lot of blood, cramps are SO bad like girls say “omg my periods are so bad feels like I’m being stabbed!” But they can’t relate to the pain I feel. It’s extreme. My periods are also 8-10 days long, and irregular. Like for example I got my period on the 28th last month and I still haven’t gotten it, the month before that was the 18th. Also, I suffer from extreme hot flashes. And usually a week or two my period I’ll have extreme cramps and extreme cramps whilst on my period too. I also vomit and faint because of the pain too :( My gynecologist diagnosed me with polycystic ovarian syndrome with fibroids on my ovaries and uterus so I have to see a GI doctor as well. Uterine artery embolisation worked for me after a year of heavy bleeding due to small fibroids but too small/wrong position for myomectomy... Research all avenues and don't rush is my advice, and remember everyone is different, and so are the fibroids and the way they grow.

I think it’s great you beautiful strong ladies talked about it. I just got diagnosed with adenomyosis and having fibroids, I just had to have a biopsy of some done as well. All came back good but it’s a terrifying experience. Right now they are going to try and iud to control the symptoms but should that not work my only other option is to remove the uterus completely. Part of it is my fault I neglected getting my regular pap done, we need to take care of ourselves before we let the issues we feel get out of control.

One thing about fibroids reoccurring, if there are no lifestyle changes, they probably will. Watched an amazing lecture explaining that they are to do with hormone imbalance. Please look into these things. Reduced plastics, more alkaline diets and regular exercise can improve things. Birth control generally is terrible in the long run. But please do your research 🙏

I was the most scared person. I never wanted to have kids due to the fact that I have a fear of birth, natural and c section. Now here I was faced with having to a c section like procedure. Now that I have had it done, I'm more open to having kids in the future.(crazy)

How's it going after your UFE?

I had a myomectomy on October 8, 2015. I was told when I went in that I only had 2 fibroids that were both the size of softballs. I actually had 20, the softball size being the biggest, and the smallest was the size of the tip of my pinky. I lost a lot of blood, but did not need a transfusion. I was only in the hospital for 2 days (i left AMA).

@@cryssyluv you must take charge of your health dear. No cows milk, no red meat, low sugar, little processed foods, less stress, and last but not least exercise.
I just had a myomectomy and I refuse to do it again, I am never touching dairy or red meat again. I love to workout so that’s no problem.
God forbid they come back, I will have a total hysterectomy.

i got diagnosed with a fibroid at age 19 and every doctor i went to made me feel so insecure about myself because they said it was uncommon for this age... has anyone else been diagnosed around this age?

About a year ago, I had some pretty serious concerns that there was something very wrong with me. Thankfully, going on a birth control did help my symptoms. I really feel for these women, having any issues with your health can be terrifying and difficult to talk about

My mum had uterine fibroids in the summer of 2014. She then had an operation to remove her uterus (hysterectomy) as the fibroids were extremely large. Fortunately for my mum, she did not want any more children as she had me and my 2 siblings. I know how hard it is to go through it or to know someone who is going through it. If you ever experience ANY symptoms, do not be afraid to go to your doctor. Stay strong. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
