I just purchased a Soul a few days ago and love it! Was so surprised on all the headroom and leg room it has! It is also fun to drive!
Just bought a used 2016 Soul +. 2L, gets great gas mileage and not long after purchase I took it on a road trip from the DC area to Chicago and back. I had a Ford Flex prior (family car), but once the kids were gone I decided to downsize. Looked at the Buick Encore/Chevy Trax and after some time in a weekend rental (Encore) I have to say it wasn't that impressive. Too floaty and fit/finish wasn't what I expected. Did the same with the Soul and it couldn't have been any different. Great handling (for a car this small), good road feel, and terrific mileage pushed me over the top. Make sure you get it with the Harmon Audio system with nav so you can also use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Really makes a difference.

I was born in Mechanicsburg and lived there until I was 10. Green Ridge 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Silver Springs for 4th grade. Mechanicsburg will always be my home.
Just bought one of these! Traded in my 2010 Soul for a 2018 soul.
Only issue I have (which I guess is really a first world problem) is the alarm activation horn. It’s so loud and obnoxious that I have people in my apartment complex complaining when I come home from work at night lol

I just got a 2018 Soul Exclaim last week. I was able to turn the alarm activation horn off in the settings on the middle gauge cluster display.
I'm debating getting one. Totally worth it? And how many miles did the 2010 end up having?
Same problem last night haha! I'm renting one now and might buy one now !
I own the Soul plus. Best car I over owned. Definitely will buy another someday.

I pretty much enjoy the exhaust sound of this car, very low and relatively quiet. Definitely very pleasant for a turbo car
You may not know it but the steering resistance can be adjusted right on the console. I love that feature on mine.

How come the base models are never tested? My buddy just got back from a 5,000 mile US drive around in his new 2018 base and averaged 45 mpg through the Rockies and back. He loves it!!!

I never realized they had a turbo engine that nice of a interior and a stereo option that good..... a tad pricey if you option it out but a damn cute booger

Kia soul is powerful and stylish and affordable.
The 2.0 and Turbo are Powerful. The 1.6 base trim is a waste of time buying for the price! I can't drive long trips on the Kia Soul Plus. The driver seat cuts the circulation to my legs. And I have needed to have a ultra sound done on my legs to check for clots. But I do love this car besides that!

Always liked the design of the Kia Soul! First time I see a review. Where else than at Gold Pony's... :D Also like the colour. I guess Streetspeed 717 set a trend there with the orange this year... :D I like the intro of the video, nice choice of music too. Does the music say "stay gold" twice in the end? Nice touch!! Good review. You didn't mention the legroom at the pedals for a 6ft tall driver, does it feel comfortable or is it slightly cramped?
I am 6’1 driving a 2018 Soul. I have plenty of room! I love this car. I have the 1.6 turbo !

Currently having oil consumption issues for the 2.0 engine had new engine replaced now air bag recall. 04/15/22
The turbo is all the rage but the 2.0 non-turbo is less to go wrong down the road.
I have a '12 with the 2.0l Nu and an auto. Best box for sure

I've always liked the Kia Soul. I just thought if you were going to get an odd looking car, it may as well give you great gas mileage. That's something the Soul never really had. There are larger SUV's with better gas mileage.

most of the safety features you mentioned at te end are only available on the middle + trim I believe. Is the right a bit stiff since it's so low, or is it pretty good? Also, how is the cabin noise, good?

No this is the "!" model which is the top trim level
2.0 MPI is just right for this car - but unfortunately not available here in Germany...
Wish it had 4 wheel drive.. I had an old 2001 sportage that had a switch it was that small.... Why won't they install that..

Kia vehicle engines are known to only last 78,000 miles. This I'm told from a Kia represenative.

I concur with Brian. I am the original owner of a 2010 KIA Soul Sport with the 2.0 L 4 Cylinder. I’ve got 91,000 miles on it and have had zero engine problems. I did replace the heater core under warranty due to bad fluid that crystallized and ruined the entire unit, but engine and 4 speed automatic (new ones have 6 or 7 speeds depending on trim level) are humming along.
Kia has a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty!
The badly manufactured recalled engines are 2.4L theta 2 engines. I'm finally getting a new engine but they are replacting so many my engine is on back order. I'ts been 4 months since my car died and it'll be another 2 months at least before I get a new engine. I'm well aware of the 10 year warranty. Kia stalled and lied for 3 months before finally agreeing to replace my engine at no cost. Took another month to get a free rental car while waiting for my engine. Finally Kia is being responsive to me but it took a lot of fighting with them. Because of their delays I'll be without my car for at least 6 months.

2017-2019 Best years for Kia Soul. 2020 was the end of the funky little SUV/car. They have ruined it with a hideous body, ugly old woman tan/brown plastic interior like a mini van and crappy CVT "1 speed automatic" garbage. And they took away the panoramic sunroofs and replaced them with a little hole in the front. KIA YOU RUINED A WONDERFUL THING!!! No thanks. I'll stick with the older ones!!

this thing is ugly! i love my 2009 kia rondo, hugs the road, smooth ride, can see out all window, looks sleek, good mileage. This soul looks like it needs some soul... uugggglllyyyy and it does not look like it would hug the road and be a smooth ride
