I recently used my paper shredder to make " grass" for a handmade Easter basket for my Grandkids... it did great !!!! Awesome ideas for scraps !! Thanks Jennifer !!
Hi Jennifer ~ Another fantastic video and, like the others who've already commented, I love the "extended" video length!! Not only are the cards stunning (& the bonus is we use up scraps!!) but the stamp and die sets are gorgeous too. Love the sentiments you've shared with us; they're incredibly uplifting. Thanks so much for another inspirational video tutorial. ~HUGS~ #kindnessmatters
Jennifer, you blow me away. Love the little tricks you show with the paper shredder and rolling the background through the bigshot. I have done something similar with scrap strips on a background and an embossing folder to get really good adhesion. Love your rainbow cards- very colorful and cheery!
Wow you have a great mind to come up with so many ideas. We enjoy all your videos and Thank you for sharing them with us. God Bless you and your family. 💕💕👍🙏
These cards are amazing. What a great way to not only use up scrapes but to build your card stash as well. Loved all your butterflies but they would be great with whimsical flower dies and geometric dies as well. Oh the possibilities! And the shredder is a really big help! Thanks so much for sharing all your ideas.
I totally enjoyed this video. Such a great idea Carol came up with using a paper shredder. My friend used to make fun of me for saving my scraps (especially strips!) until one year I did this very thing using my glitter paper cut into narrow strips. I made all of my Christmas cards that year using my multi coloured glitter strips as my backgrounds. The shredder is def. the way to go. The cards you made from these Jennifer are more than a little inspiring. They are absolutely stunning!
Thank you for sharing, a great use for all those scraps. the butterfly die cuts are lovely and I liked how you lauered them, your cards are always lovey
Yea hooray!!! Thanks for sharing the idea of using the paper shredder to make the colored strips. (Even I can do this....) I always enjoy your videos. I keep a notebook handy and jot notes (and take pictures w/ my cell to go with the notes). The bright colors are extremely attractive and eye-catching. Thanks for being such a talented and interesting teacher!!!
I love this Jennifer!! Another idea that may simplify sticking down the strips is to put the sticky sheet on them before running them through the shredder. I can't wait to share these card ideas with my 4H club!! Thanks :)
Yay....Thanks for the video! I definitely have many cardstock strip backgrounds I have made.....it is great to see some finished cards with different ways to finish them out. The tip with the shredder is great too!
I have wondered for a good while, how you could salvage scrapes of card stock. Not necessarily sheets that have been cut on, but other forms of scraps of paper. By golly, you have hit the nail on the head with this video. Loved the cards and most definitely enjoyed the videos. You are a breath of fresh air for us!
I remember you doing this technique before! I used it to make a red & white stripe to make some Christmas cards? I even die cut the word "Merry" from the candy cane stripe. It looked so adorable! A little Wink of Stella and before I knew it I had a wonderful, simple card. Thanks for a reminder of how great this technique is!
Oh my goodness Jennifer this video is totally awesome 👍👍👍👍👍😘😘😘 I absolutely love this idea. I have a shredder and I would never have thought of that....!!!!!!!......LOL Well done to Carol Duncan you are such a clever girl too. JUST LOVE YOUR VIDEOS 😍😍😍😍😍🌹🌹🌹🌹 Thx U Rhonda Laine Sydney Australia xoxoxox
You are so talented and brilliant to think of all of these wonderful techniques. Thanks so much for sharing them - I look forward to using these techniques with my tones and tones of scraps!
About ten years ago I was doing a scrapbook page and used my quarter inch shredder to make strips to weave them like a basket using prints and solid , made 12x12. It turned out so cool, I made several more. When Shredders changed for better security reasons, my old shredder stayed for the crafts. Love these card Jennifer you never cease to amaze. TFS you are tremendously precious to us card enthusiasts.
I'm absolutely new to card marking but found your video interesting and easy to follow . Will try my hands on a few of the designs . Thanks for sharing
I love using strips of scraps down to the last bit. I can never bear to throw away pretty papers. Instead of using a tape runner to make a sticky background for the scraps, I use the sticky side of full sheet Avery labels. It works like a charm.
Jennifer you are a GENIUS... a Great great creator, you should be given a highest award for your creations.... you are an amazingly superb crafter... where do you get all these ideas?? seems I dont have brain at all... tfs! :-)
When I am interested in cards that are different or interesting, your ideas are definitely a treasure trove. Even spurring the imagination to other directions. The possibilities with these backgrounds are practically endless. Even just layering a couple lovely pre-made die-cuts and framing could churn out some really beautiful cards. Especially when mass-producing. This would be great around the holidays with winter colors or reds and greens and cute or pretty holiday images. Oh, the mind boggles. Your creativity is inspiring. Thank you for sharing, and taking the time. (The longer ones are even better...coffee time for me.) =)
Couldn't agree more, Tracy!!! I love longer videos too--Jennifer is always quite welcome to get carried away and make longer videos anytime. I'll be thrilled!!! :)
I always admire your great ability to mix colours. The result is always wonderful. Congratulations and thank you for feeding my dreams and helping me to develop my creativity.
best video in a long time. I miss the videos you used to do that really emphasised getting the most out of your supplies. It feels like, over the last year or more, you've been given/ purchased so many new supplies ( which can't be helped because there are more things made in one season than the was years ago) that there's not enough time to make videos that includes new products AND videos that show you tricks to really stretch your crafting dollars
I am definitely going to try this! Just a quick idea...I'm going to try using my quilling strips to do this! I have almost literally (lol) a ton of them in all different colours. They are in 1/4" and 1/8" strips. The 1/8" will be fiddley but I'll be glad to use some of them up! Thanks for this great inspiration!
hey ... i am a huge fan of urs and i love ur innovative and quirky ways of creating cards , i always had the problem of using scraps and this video is just perfect to learn efficient use of left over bits and pieces .. love from India 😘😘❤
Forget waiting for scraps. All these were good enough to just create scraps or no scraps. And the shredder suggestion was genius! 😀
You are truly amazing Jennifer. Where you come up with so "many" fantastic ideas..well you are unbelievable! We are blessed to have you teach us.
Thanks Jennifer, beautiful cards n technics. Don't worry I never find your videos long cos it's sooo..... interesting. Love it 👍🏻😘
So cool. I could watch you all day Jennifer. Thanks so much for wonderful ideas. Keep them coming ok?
How good to use the scraps to make beautiful cards. Loved all the examples. You make great longer videos and I would listen every time you do. Thanks.
