White Sands Missile Range 35th Annual Bataan Memorial Death March Walkin Man by M J Martin & Holiday

Nearly 6,000 people came to White Sands Missile Range from all around the world on Saturday March 16, 2024. Not to compete in a marathon but instead to reflect for 26.2 miles and remember the nearly 20,000 American’s and the nearly 100,000 Filipinos that walked The Bataan Death March in April 1942. As well as remembering all fallen American soldiers from the 20th and 21st Century conflicts.
The Song that is playing in the background is called Walkin Man by Michael “MJ” Martin and Tim Holiday. Martin organized the Last Patrol in the 1980s and 1990’s they were a group of veterans that would walk across the country. Their most famous March was from The Alamo in San Antonio Texas to The Vietnam War Memorial in Washington DC. I was lucky enough to have known MJ and several of the other members of the last patrol.
