Doug may have gone to the SB but his last few seasons have been constant decline, 2020 was a joke, he was the worse coach in the league that year.
DP is a terrible hire, Jacksonville is screwed.
They just hired him cause he white. The Jaguars have NEVER had a minority head coach. Not black, not mexican, not asain, nothing. Only white guys. The Jaguars are racist
It really all depends on Trent Baalke as the GM. He had a conflict or issue in San Fran with Harbaugh and this year with Urban Meyer. Although, Meyer just seemed like he wanted to get fired, that way he could go back on tv... Then there is Shad Khan, how much influence does he have over coaches and player personnel? Khan seems like another Jerry Jones type of owner and they mean well but they hire someone that can perform the job without micromanaging them. Hopefully, Doug Peterson can change the culture in Jacksonville. It would be nice to have another Florida team in the hunt for a Super Bowl.

Big Balls Doug is a legend here in Philly. He brought us our only Super Bowl and our first league championship since fuckin 1960. He was an amazing leader and head coach. Overall offensive struggles and bad drafts brought him down, and since he was considered an offensive type HC, he was blamed above all.
Wentz was meh in '18-19, horrifically bad in '20. Everybody loved Frank Reich in a real different way til they saw how '21 turned out back with his boy Carson. Sirianni is the dude rn and Reid is the Eagles GOAT coach, but Doug is the one who gave Philly sports its heart back from New York and Boston.
Doug will make the Jags relevant. Get him and T-Law some good offensive designs and some sharp young coaches

Trevor Lawrence has so much talent but I hope Doug Peterson can get things turned around and change the culture in Jacksonville. Otherwise, like many other QB's selected #1, he could be stuck trying to learn a new offense scheme every year till he becomes a free agent.

As an Eagles fan, it's going to be interesting to see who does better next season: Doug or Carson Wentz
As a pure NFL historian, Super Bowl 52 (LXII) was the Eagles first win in the SB era. Their last championship was against my beloved Lombardi-led Green Bay Packers in the 1960 NFL Championship game. The clock ran out on the Packers in that game and Lombardi vowed that the Packers would never lose another championship game.
Doug was never the problem in Philly.
As a lifelong jags fan and fan of Leftwich, I’m _so_ glad that Byron stayed away from our toxic football team. Good for him!
I loved Byron as a QB but I dont know how I feel about Leftwitch as a HC yet. Cause ounce Brady went to Tampa, all of a sudden Leftwitch becomes a hot candidate. So I gotta see what does without the GOAT before I can agree he’s good enough to start demanding what GMs he wants or he ain’t coming. Cause if Tampa offense tanks his stock as a top HC is gonna tank as well.
@@jeremytaft8247 Thanks for the insight. I do feel as though Byron was very proficient in his role prior to TB12’s arrival. Granted, TB12’s presence doesn’t hurt Byron’s stock whatsoever, I’d love to see him as HC somewhere. Just somewhere he can continue to grow and eventually thrive. Jacksonville is not it.

He was overdrafted, then underperformed. There is a rewriting of history here in Jacksonville on BL recently. He was an immature guy when he was here, and there would have been no romantic reunion if he came back. His overinflated opinion of himself seems to still exist, as a 1st time coach would never presume that they could strong arm bringing in their own GM. And this is coming from someone who thinks we should drop Balke hard.
@@CClizzy I think if Byron can develop a QB or actually utilize his star players in a game plan, as oppose to having the star players stifled by the same play calling game after game. He's close, but he is a couple years away.
I don’t think Doug P is gonna instantly make the Jaguars the greatest team ever. But I strongly suspect he’ll at least make a massive effort to salvage Trevor Lawrence and make the Jaguars better.

Same here. Our front office did a horrible job handing him during his time here. What Nick did with the young talent this year makes it easier to deal with but we still lost a guy we know can take us all the way smh

Trevor Lawrence is a very talented young quarterback he just needs someone to be in his ear to give him some insight and maybe a little encouragement which they did not have Urban Meyer was a good college head coach but he never was a quarterback's coach nor was he a player's coach he knew how to manage a game he relied on his coordinators and other coaches on the sideline to do the little things but Doug Peterson the way he handled the craziness of the quarterback situation carousel and Philadelphia when they won the super bowl was pretty amazing and Frank Reich had a lot to do with their success in Philadelphia
Hell yeah! Players grow at different levels and with all the drama around him he hung in there about as well as anyone could. Some players peak early and drop off quick and some build slowly. Year 2 he just has to show improvement from year one but he did enough special things this year that made u take notice. Against the Colts when he handled that high snap over his head caught it and fired a dart for a touchdown I went yep this dudes got it.
him and justin fields are still definitely able to be top 10 qb's however they really need to turn it around this year otherwise they will likely get a new playbook making it 4 in 4 years.

I think the eagles had a magical mixture of coaching (including frank reich, and qb coach DeFilippo), front office (I think Joe Douglas added something to the talent evaluation side of things) and roster that Super Bowl year.. I like Dougie P, but you can’t be a leader and not have something to do with how it all unraveled.. but I’ll always root for everyone from that team, so good luck to him!

Great hire by the jags. They need stability desperately and a made man and Doug Pederson fits that mold, not to mention that he won a super bowl and is a good playcaller. Peterson didn't really make the Philly Philly call, Nick did. He asked for it and Peterson said yes. Peterson has such a great attitude which he passes on to his players. Jaguar fans should feel optimistic, though maybe not in his first year.
In all seriousness the Jags shouldn’t be terrible. They have very athletic WRs and TE, a RB they can give heavy carries to to help their young QB, and they somehow still have talent on their defense. Hopefully Doug makes this team better.
