I'm so glad to see so many lady's and men allowing them self to go grey. It's not to do with age it's to do with allowing ourself to say yes I'm grey and earned every strand of it.
Beautiful! I've stopped coloring my hair and I love it. My hair grows super fast and it only took a few months since I wear my hair short but it was worth the painful "in between" stage. My hair is snow white and I love it. I get more complements now than I ever did when I colored my hair and it seems like it actually makes my complexion look better. I say go for the gray because you'll probably wish you'd done it sooner!
Thanks so much, Sharon for sending this to me. All I can say is WOW what a transformation. Almost irrecognizable. I discovered while watching I don't think my hair has totally gone gray. I have let it grow out quite a bit and still see too much brown. I'm going to keep checking and build up the courage. You're such an inspiration. Love your tips. Again, thank you.
Just love how your transition to your natural silvery grey and looking even more fabulous!!! Wooooowww!! And oodles of amazing tips to go!! Hugs for your big heart!! Thank you so much, I feel so much more encouraged to go grew too as I need to color my own hair at home every two weeks!! Am 61 now and that profile pic was when I was 59 and get loads of compliments from the hairstylists around the world when I go for hair cuts or layering and blow drying! Big hugs from moi and yes, I do love my lipstick and light coverage too... 💋
I absolutely love this video--I have tried over & over to let it go gray but give up a 6 months because I had never thought about all the hair extensions, etc. This is really going to help me in my quest for my natural gray hair that all the young girls want.
Nina Keogh - That's pretty much the state of play for many UK salons already, but sadly they're the kind churning out identikit short close curl sets, and a chronic lack of imagination...😟
This was published on my 49th birthday, the same day I decided to ditch the dye forever. It has been a frustrating 9 months and I feel somewhat naughty and insolent by going against the grain. You look fabulous and are an inspiration to me.
Beautiful! So glad you didn't cut it short! I've almost finished my transition, took nearly 2 yrs. because I decided to leave it long. It was truly worth it and now I "own" the look. It's increased my confidence, as well.
Wow, just think. People will spend a lot of money to get what you have naturally. I'm a guy who has had premature gray hairy since my early twenties. I'm very tired of treating my hair so one ever knows I'm really all gray. After watching your vlog and some others; I have been given hope to go beyond my comfort zone, and just go natural. I know with us guys it's suppose to make us look distinguished? Well, I just look pale, not well. Plus, I'm a school teacher who doesn't want my kids thinking I'm a grandpa, yet. Thank you. You even are rocking that cool porcelain look with your coloring! Nice.
I was really reluctant to start this process but you make it exciting - to be ME again! I have been coloring for 30 years! Thanks for the wonderful video. Great job! I may try it myself. You are beautiful.
Bravo - the journey to gray hair freedom is filled will gems of self-discovery too - some challenging and others joy-filled. Make sure to journal your feelings and experiences along the way along with taking pics every month. Enjoy!
Now I am really inspired. You are so creative with the styling and I love how much fun you have with the scrunchies and extensions. I am feeling ready to take this step. Thank you millions!!

IN LOVE!!! I recently made the plunge and cut my gorgeous brown locks off to discover a peace with gray hair. This was so hard for me since I'm only 45. I got my first gray at 13 yrs old! You have inspired me to grow out my hair. You look SO chic!
BlissNKiss Well congratulations!!!!!!!!!!! There are many women even in their late 30's now deciding to ditch the dye & embrace the gray. It is such a wonderful freedom. May I suggest you journal your journey and take selfies every month along the ride. You'll be glad you did. Again - Bravo.
I'm growing out my gray. Truthfully, it looks older than colored hair, but it looks regal, and REAL. It shows a woman as dignified because she is authentic and accepting of where she is in life.
You are *rocking* that full grey! But I have to say, your look at the 18-month stage was AMAZING - a grey-to-brown reverse ombre that looked original, stylish, and bang-up-to-date? I'm kinda tempted to actually colour it this way!
ha ha ha I soooooo hear you Tricia K - I LOVED it too and missed it when it was cut off. However, I now use dark gray extensions to give me the contrasted look when I'm aiming for something similar.
I found your videos inspiring and very helpful to my transition which, incidentally took only 4 months and even though I never thought I would, I love it... Thank you for your support!!
Dear Sharon, I have been watching your videos for a while🌹I am fascinated by you!! You are an expert with makeup and hair and can accomplish so many different looks. You are a pleasure watch.
Thanks but I believe in follow through. If someone takes the time to be complimentary, it's the least I can do to respond. I like to practice what I preach. Here's my playlist on "Modern Etiquette". ua-cam.com/video/fIvCbqsOEzA/v-deo.html
Sharon, I just finished watching your transition video and was very moved. You transitioned with such grace and style! I hope my transition will be as nice as yours. You are beautiful! Thank you also for the tips!
twominutetips I will though it will be very challenging going through the 'ugly' transition period. But I am packed with lovely beanies and stylish hats so I guess I will be fine. I am now 10 weeks dye-free. Bless you!
Beautiful! and very well done. I'm going grey too , that's not all over but grey shows up more on naturally dark hair.I have had enough of colouring it. Now I'm transitioning to a platinum blonde.
Looks beautiful!! I let my colour grow out in my mid forties, about 20 yrs. ago. Too much time & money to keep up the colour. To my surprise, I got compliments on the colour......or lack thereof. The texture is also much better!!....also a big surprise. Over the years, I've noticed more & more women embracing their grey!! Fantastic sense of freedom.
Simply gorgeous! One of my beautiful clients (I’m a cosmetologist) has decided to go back to her natural color, which also includes 50% white. It’s been fading and transitioning super well! I’m going to have to send her the link to this video. She’s going to love it! On a different note, I love the editing style you use and the music choice for this video. Very well done!
Wow! You look amazing. Thank you so much for sharing. I decided to let my gray grow out about five months ago and it hasn't been easy. I am 53 and I am ready to embrace my gray hair also, but I get impatient. Thanks for inspiring me to continue on this journey.

Sharon I loved this video so much and am so happy to be a part of the facebook group. Seeing how you transitioned really inspired me this morning. I'm realizing how little I've learned through my life how to age well and beautiful. Most of the women in my sphere have influenced me the very opposite of what I'm learning in this group. Thank you so much for helping women become confident and happy in their real true self. You're awesome!
OMG. That's the same thing my mother want to try! She is so fed up with coloring her hair every couple of weeks. She is even fed up with hiding or covering her gray/ white roots as soon as it shows up. That's such an inspiration (I have to show her this video!). The gray/white hair suits you really well. It looks really classy.
Many thanks. Suggest your Mom joins us on facebook.com/groups/goingray.lovit for support, inspiration and professional advice on makeup, hairstyling and all things pertinent to this age group for aging with grace and style.
I'm turning 50 this year and decided to grow my hair gray, it's only been two months but I'm excited...I tried this three years ago but I chicken out after three months and colored it back, if I had only stumbled thru your videos a long time ago, love all the ideas and tips. I hope I can go through this transition with ease with the help of your video tips...thank you so much...watched all your tutorial
YW Eva. You can stick with it and I'm happy to lend support ideas. Feel free to join us on FB where there is lots of information, inspiration and support. If you can get through the challenging part, you'll love your end result - truly, for so many reasons. May I suggest you keep a journal and take plenty of pictures along the way. You'll be glad you did.
Wow, to see what you have done has made me realize I can do this! You are beautiful! The thing that really makes me happy about watching your video is that the whole time this transformation is going on at the end your so much more beautiful then you started. It’s in the eyes. Just seeing how at ease you are to have made this change in yourself makes me know it’s well worth it! Your an Amazing Woman! Thank you so much for doing this video!! God bless you in all you do! 🌸

Delightful video! At 62, I decided to stop coloring after I retired. I love my silver/gray hair. I had no idea that silver was the new fad! I think we have millenial boomer-envy! At any rate, I have a number of Tony of Beverly toppers in blonds and browns, as you can see, but I also bought two lengths of Hetta Coffey's silver toppers, which I love. Thank you. And you look mah-velous, my dear!
Thank you so much for your very kind and helpful videos. They're so creative and informative, that I might be able to try the fancy do's myself. I've been thinking for months to let go & go grey, but I've been nervous about the transition phase. But, with your handy-dandy tips, I could be fully grey in about a year. I did apply to join your Facebook page and look forward to seeing other ladies with great ideas. Have a blessed day. P.S. Your silver mane is GORGEOUS!
I think it's beautiful! That's what I think. =). Loved all of the tips and fabulous variations and options! Thanks for making this video, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
So glad I ran across your video..!!! I'm starting to grow mine out to.. just at 2 months but my hair grows so fast... Was ready to do the highlights until I seen this... Now I'm going to go find some silver-grey hair extensions to use as my hair is down to my waist - not sure I can find extensions that long willing to cut some but not a lot... Great ideas you have!!! Thank you... Your a work of Art...!!! 💜
I have been considering letting my hair go gray for several years now. Thank you for your great tips - I'm inspired by how beautiful you look after the transition! Fingers crossed!
+Pam Brady Thank you so much. Bravo for making your commitment. You'll love the freedom and all the wonderful gems you'll discover about yourself along the way.
Kudos for doing the transition with long hair. You look awesome with gray hair! So many women dye nowadays that gray hair is exotic, especially long. I grew out my part-gray hair a few years ago, but after a few inches I did the cut-it-short thing. I regretted cutting it and it took a year to grow decently long again. I was surprised my hair wasn't ALL gray yet, but I enjoy the natural look now and I have lots of gray streaks that I really rock!
Hi Sharon, you look stunning and I am no longer going to colour my hair. I just hope it grows through to the beautiful silver of yours! You have inspired me, thankfully! June xxx
Why thank you June. Bravo and congratulations. There is so much more freedom in making this decision than any of us thought. Would be happy to help, inspire or inform along the way. Come join us on our Facebook page with a great group to walk the path with. And we are all at various stages. facebook.com/groups/goingray.lovinit
I also stopped coloring and went grey, but did it all at once. I had my brown hair colored grey, then let it grow in grey. In about 4 hours, I went from brown to grey. My colorist stripped out all the brown color, then put the grey in. The roots matched the rest of the hair as it grew in, and it was a very easy transition. It was worth it to have it done all at once, instead of months of covering roots and the rest of it. My own grey is now all grown in, and I'm loving it! Thanks for your videos and tips. Really enjoy them!
Absolutely STUNNING! I have always been envious of EmmyLou Harris's hair! My hair is very short, so my wait time won't be quite as long as yours, but you have most definitely inspired me to stop colouring my hair!
I am into my 4th month letting my hair grow out to my natural gray hair. I didn't want to cut my hair. I when in today and had a good trim. I did make a difference. You the first person I watched when I came to You Tube and to my surprise there are so many women out there going on this journey. As a young women my hair was a dark auburn in my late forties I turn gray just in front I always heard go light when you go gray. So Highlights was what I did. Up until 4 months ago. I am so glad I came here and watched you that day. Your a beautiful woman thank you for sharing your journey. I am 68 soon to be 69. And I look forward to growing older with grace and gray. Thank you Shirley from Georgia
Thanks for sharing your journey Shirley from one silver sister to another we are pioneering healthy change and viewpoints of aging with strength, style and grace.
Thank you for making it easy and showing your journey. I know you have help so many women out here in UA-cam land. I know you have made my easier showing each stage and what you can do with your hair as it get to that beautiful silver color it was meant to be. Thank you so much Shirley from Georgia
I'm so pleased you love your gray hair, as you should. Gray hair is absolutely freeing and when styled well with the correct approach to makeup, nothing comes close to the vibrant, fresh, compelling look, rather than looking that illusive "younger"
Stunning! So many great looks, with all the 'toys'. I'm 64 yrs old and have had my silver locks for a long time. I'm guessing 15 yrs or more. I wear it up a lot, which shows the darker color at the back (nape?) of my head - I get a lot of compliments. Makes me never want to cut my hair short again! Geez, how long is too long for someone my age?
Absolutely love you Ideas and Journey. I am 47 and I am soooo tired of coloring my hair. My husband doesn't want me to change my hair yet and he is 44 and still at 98% black hair. My have white silver roots on my front and left side hair line. Pray for me .... I'm thinking about doing a white silver streak on the front left side and going from there. God bless you and love your hair.
Barbie German Concentrate on your make up and some new hairstyles and just continue to let your gray come in gloriously. Makeup makes a huge difference.
I have to tell you that you are a true classic beauty. Not everyone has your wonderful bone structure. And I also wanted to say how beautiful you looked in that blonde wig! I am letting my gray have its own way.. but I don't do hair very well so I am quite limited in styles. I have always been a blonde, and they must not go to such a lovely shade of grey as darker hair does. I have 3 different autoimmune illnesses that are playing fits trying to make me bald! I am seriously considering a wig...or, at least, a topper of some kind.
Sharon Hughes thank you for your kind comments. I thing a topper may be just the answer and the can be styled in a number of ways and are very light to wear. And synthetic wigs are very light and wear very well too + they have some wonderful styling available.
@ 18 months ombré is so stunning! 💕 I’m currently letting my gray grow out but ombré is the way I will go. Still able to have fun with color in my hair because I like to 😊. We always have to cut the ends anyway so the top will never get damage and be kept healthy.
I really love the start to finish...you look better with your real color...real soft and younger....I to have white hair starting at 40' now in 63 still white a lot of people love it...
Thanks so much for the great video. So many ideas and love that you cover the basics of the makeup transition also. I am also at the 4 inch mark and keep applying Roux toner just to help the transition as I am a warm skin tone and stark gray makes my skin look more sallow. You have such beautiful skin too. Thanks for sharing your journey!
I love the gray but I also love the brown, I'am so torn on which one I like best! You are so pretty and can rock both !!! what you like is always best!
Thank you!!!! I am 6 months in and it is slow going. I am growing out my old blond that I used to love, now it's very orange. I will look into hair extensions ❤️
You are the first person I've come across to suggest the extra pieces. I don't know why I didn't think of it! The scrunchy would put an end to the "orange bun" that makes people give me the eye. Now I just have to find a good place that sells them! I like how you were able to keep your long hair; I get too cold with it short. Thanks!
Wow, I love all the different hairstyles you share! Thanks for sharing all these great tips! I wish I had known about the hair scrunchies when I was going through my transition. I wore my hair up in a bun to keep the dye at the back of my head so a hair scrunchie would have been perfect. I love bangs but only for a day or two so going to go look for clip on bangs now (I hadn't thought of using those).
Thanks for this bit of inspiration! At 58 Ive decided to ditch the brown dye and go grey! I still have very long hair, and have no intention of cutting it, so was looking for ideas on how to make the transition. I'm so excited and can't wait to start! You look fabulous grey!
I'm 45, so I have very little "salt" i've been coloring over for years, but I am totally done with hair dye! I also am trying to grow my hair long and have been discouraged by all the recommendations to cut my hair short to make growing the gray easier...thanks for all these pictures that show it can be done without cutting the length!
You are beautiful! I won't say that you didn't look great as a brunette but the natural gray looks so much better. Thank you for sharing this. I am so tired of coloring my hair. It really isn't about vanity for me, it is about the transition and patience that I say 'forget it'. On top of having the gray all around the front of my head, I have the wiry, kinky gray, so it looks different the my hair that is brown. I sure hope I can do what you did and not give in to the temptation. Thanks again for sharing your "Embracing My Gray" journey.
Karen Goodall Thank you and you're most welcome. Please come join us at facebook.com/groups/goingray.lovinit for lots of support, information, inspiration and personal coaching.
Well thank you JODI Sampson - we ALL have wonderful gray hair no matter what the colour patterns are. And I'm sure your's will be stunning. Exciting isn't it?
dyed my hair for the last time about 6 weeks ago. My hair is blonde so the roots not showing as much as dark hair but I am so excited to watch my "white" coming thru!!! Finding all your tips and information has been great!
I've tried several times to let the silver come out and then chickened out each time. But this summer I am letting it happen. I mostly have silver along the front top and sides, still the rest is pretty brown. This pic is an old one, but soon I will take a new pic and totally embrace going natural. Thanks for your video. You are beautiful, and you give me hope !
+twominutetips Now it has been eight months. I teach at college, so when I went back in the fall, my hair had just begun to show the gray. That was what had made me the most nervous. But no one said anything, and no one started hating me !!! LOL. I know that sounds silly, bur I honestly had been afraid that people wouldn't like me with any gray in my hair. Probably the real issue was that I wouldn't like me with silver hair. This pic now is my new one. The auburn is growing out and it looks a little strange, since my hair is mostly dark brown, but I'm just letting it happen. And I LIKE it !!!! Thanks for the encouragement.
Bravo for sticking with it. Regarding your feelings re people's reaction to your choice, I highly recommend journaling your feelings. There are many gems to discover.
Bravo!!! You look stunning.... your gray hair really toned down your skin tone and made you look softer, beautiful!! thanks for the inspiration... I'm 59 and thinking about doing this after vowing to never go gray EVER.... I realize that I look like I'm in my 50's, no escaping that or going back! LOL.... guess I'm tired of the battle to cover my roots like every 2 weeks now, and priorities have changed, now I don't care if I look my age! LOL ... thanks again, you look great!!!
A suggestion- purchasing a wig to wear while your hair grows out is a GREAT way to deal with the in between stages... Just purchase quality wigs, not cheap $30 kind. I wear wigs all the time because they are so easy especially when you are having a bad hair day, plus they give me versatility.... AND wigs also save you a lot of money as you won't need to go to the salon for haircuts and dye etc.
I love this! I REALLY STRUGGLE with wanting to color my hair. The silver/white hairs are sneeking in more and more every week. I laughed so hard at the 6 months, in a very, I know what you mean way. Thank you for sharing. smiles.
Thank you for showing your journey. I am definitely thinking of going gray, since I am almost all gray anyway. You make it look so chic and natural. I am tired of dyeing my hair. Thanks again. You look beautiful.
@I BikeNYC Thank you and you'll be amazed at how wonderful it looks - and there are so many treasures to learn and looks to be revealed along the way. Enjoy the process. Bravo for your commitment and determination.

I love the idea of extensions! That is the key to making it look deliberate...and funky and oh so cool in the updo. Thank you!
+Kate Uhry You're most welcome.
SOmeone should open a salon for just silver sisters.

I can hardly believe you responded to me 💃💃💃I figure your channel is so huge you just can't respond to everyone, thank you 🎉
Thanks but I believe in follow through.
Tamara Adams You are most welcome and thank you for the compliment.
So chic and elegant. I love it.
+Ashley Wiseman-Clevenger Thanks so much for taking the time to say so.
Ashley Wiseman-Clevenger agree🙏
Hello there😊☕️🌹
Very lovely. Well done. You are an inspiration in my journey going grey naturally. I'm fed up dyeing.
Thank you! Thumbs up.
Good for you Truthseeker. Make sure to journal your journey and take pics every month. You'll be so glad you did.
twominutetips I will though it will be very challenging going through the 'ugly' transition period.
+Kathy Bishop BRAVO Kathy. Yes the freedom and crushing the propaganda is a great feeling.
Thank you so much Heismyrock3 - appreciate your feedback.

+Leaon Star Ah you're very kind and I'm thrilled you feel inspired to follow your more natural and honest direction.
Thank you so very much for your kind words Barbara Cummings - glad it was an inspiration for you.
Love you in the gray - so much softer!! And gorgeous!!! I can't wait for my hair to come fully!

+Arlene B Thank you.
Just beautiful. Thanks for sharing your journey.
You're most welcome.
You are beautiful all around. I DO love the grey and it looks stunning. Gives me courage to do this myself!
Excellent - and you'll love it.
Very beautiful, graceful transition to the natural you.
Thank you so much.
Loved your video Sharon it has really inspired me, to stick with my transition.
Thanks Sahira. I'm glad it's inspired you to hang in there. It is sooooo worth it.
I wish I could add a "love" not just a "like". Fabulous!
You are very kind - thank you and glad you like.
I have a friend who is growing out her gray and this was awesome I'm sharing it with her. thanks for the tips!
You're most welcome. Thanks for sharin Julie
And we are all at various stages. facebook.com/groups/goingray.lovinit
good for you! Looks beautiful. I definitely like the longer side swept bang on you. Thanks for the video
+Meredith Hitt, maddogmere YW
I also stopped coloring and went grey, but did it all at once. I had my brown hair colored grey, then let it grow in grey. In about 4 hours, I went from brown to grey. My colorist stripped out all the brown color, then put the grey in. The roots matched the rest of the hair as it grew in, and it was a very easy transition. It was worth it to have it done all at once, instead of months of covering roots and the rest of it. My own grey is now all grown in, and I'm loving it! Thanks for your videos and tips. Really enjoy them!
Love it! Inspired! Ready. :) Thank u!
Sharon Nusbaum so glad you are. Thank you.
Absolutely STUNNING! I have always been envious of EmmyLou Harris's hair! My hair is very short, so my wait time won't be quite as long as yours, but you have most definitely inspired me to stop colouring my hair!
ZainaDancer How wonderful. Congratulations. You will absolutely love it and the freedom it gives you.
You're most welcome Shirley from Georgia.
Best thing I ever did,,, growing out my gray.. I love it it matches my skin tone better and it actually makes me look younger
Pam Cotterman the important question to ask is what suits you rather than what length it is.
Just getting started....and I think it's beautiful...You are an inspiration!
TY Carol - I wish you the very best in your journey.
Absolutely stunning! Great video and tips!
TY Rocklyn Hamilton
Absolutely love the gray!!
TY BodaciousBeverly - I love it too. Its absolute freedom to boot.
@@twominutetips Wow...you sure got back to me so fast! Thanks for the suggestions....will surely be trying the options you presented.
Sharon Hughes great and keep me posted as to how he are working for you
@ 18 months ombré is so stunning!
TY Vicky. Yes gray/white/charcoal - all shades of gray are freedom and look better than any dye.
you are beautiful. just starting my transition - 2 months in - and this was very helpful and inspiring
So glad Victoria Love and congratulations on your decision to join the gray hair freedom train. You Love, Love, Love it.
Sharon you always do a great job!!!
Have a wonderful day, love & huggs!!!
Mummsie Dear You are so welcome. Try changing up our foundation colour a bit testing it on your jawline and you'll find it will make a difference.
Thanks!
You are most welcome Cyndi Aiden and I guarantee you will enjoy your scrunchie big time. Check the description box below the video for links.
Liz MacLeod Thank you so much and congratulations on your decision - you won't regret it.
Beautiful both ways but so delicate and ethereal with gray hair.. although I adored the short blonde wig!
TY
So beautiful, then, throughout the transition and now!
You are very kind J. H. thank you
You are beautiful!
Cant wait till mine looks like yours!11 months in on this journey. Love your hair.its beautiful!!
Jonathan Green Congratulations on your decision - and it just gets better and better.
Will start taking photos and keeping a journal....thank you!
+Marta Waterman Bravo - good for you.
+twominutetips Thank you for the suggestion. You are truly an inspiration !! And your hair looks fab !!
Thank you so very much. Glad it inspires.
As others have said elegance personified. stunning
+dlamiss TY so much.
TY - Bravo for making the decision to embrace your gray hair freedom - you'll love, love, love it.
Loved this video and the documented changes to your lovely gray hair. You wear it well! :)
Pat Brooks Thanks for taking the time to say so.
I love this! I REALLY STRUGGLE with wanting to color my hair. The silver/white hairs are sneeking in more and more every week. I laughed so hard at the 6 months, in a very, I know what you mean way. Thank you for sharing. smiles.
Glad you enjoyed Grammy.
Thank you for showing your journey. I am definitely thinking of going gray, since I am almost all gray anyway. You make it look so chic and natural. I am tired of dyeing my hair. Thanks again. You look beautiful.
Kathleen Walden You're most welcome and believe me - you won't regret it. Its a journey that has so much to offer.
@I BikeNYC Thank you and you'll be amazed at how wonderful it looks - and there are so many treasures to learn and looks to be revealed along the way. Enjoy the process. Bravo for your commitment and determination.
