  • Driving my new Mitsubishi Evo Lancer making 450hp! This thing rips with awd and a built motor tuned by Ben West. Making around 34psi of boost it is the ultimate daily driver! I took it out for some launches, Accelerations, and Flybys. Some other mods are DW 1500CC Injectors, ETS Intercooler kit, DW 420LPH intake pump, 3inch non catted exhaust, Torque solutions motor mounts, the list goes on!

Enjoyed the video Jared!, It has ACT HDSS with the monoloc. I put it in their around 110k miles in Feb 2020. When we refreshed the motor.

Was it a refresh from stock to built or a built motor refresh.

Refresh from built, the motor was built in 2013 at 58k miles.

@@stephenketchie1252 you probably didn’t need a refresh, looks like the car was well kept.

Glad you are enjoying the car. Few comments on the info in the video:
    - The gauge cluster is aftermarket. Most likely autometer as I have a similar one. Mitsubishi did offer an OEM 3 gauge setup but this isn't it as the gauges are smaller than even 52 mm and could not be modified to take on larger gauges without completely destroying it. Also the OEM setup was where the radio is now so this has also had the gauge relocate...pretty standard mod.
    - ACD (Active Center Diff which adjusts the center diff) appeared in the USDM cars from the '05 Evo VIII onwards. You lost the intercooler sprayer as the ACD pump/fluid take up that space. This car is an 03/04 car. If it's an 03 then the front diff can take the upgrade from the 04 onwards if any work on that ever has to be done.
    - USDM evos got the 6 speed with the '05 Evo VIII MR. The USDM 6 speed box had issues for sure that don't seem as prevalent in the non USDM cars. Never fully dug into AFAIK
I'd leave the car at 500whp or under. Once you go above even with well maintained cars if it's driven hard it's going to cost to keep it running.

Jared the US market was obviously different to what we were given in the UK. The Evo 8 over here were offered with the 6sp box and we also had the display on the dash that you were talking about, gravel tarmac etc. They called it the FQ, FQ300 etc.
I was the dude who commented on your Instagram post, mine was literally the same as your one, same wheels and everything, mine was making 562 at the crank, it was a rod job as we called it, piston, rods etc amongst other things. It was an absolute weapon on the streets.
Just read up about it here, this tells you what the US market 8 did and didn’t have.

Great Video! Many good memories with evo's. Loved the whole mindset these cars were built on... Nimble, lightweight, AWD, and ready to make some boost!

the best cars are the ones that have retain the emotion that drew us to the vehicle itself in the first place..... but have a LOT more power. This car ticks those boxes so well, its a perfect example of the early 2000s WRC-bred analog weapons.

Very cool. The evo was always a cool looking car.
How do you like it compared to a 500 HP 3S?? Which one would you pick??

That’s hard. The evo does everything better imo. But the VR4 is more comfy, and the 99 looks better imo

i saw tthat you have a 3000GT VR4 on top of the EVO. What do you think of that car? are you going to modify it?

I have been into those cars a very long time. Have owned ALOT. That is true 99 VR4, that makes 500whp. It's such a different driving experience than the evo. I review video on that coming soon.

Keep as is. Every single friend who builds an evo over 700-800hp said it was a waste of time and money you never get back. Enjoy as is. If somethin happens overbuild and keep around 500-600 and call it a day

I miss my Evo so much! Best 7 years of my life. The cars that were around 400-500 even on stock blocks would last years and years. All the other guys chasing numbers went through numerous motors or problems. Enjoy it
