Apparently the judge knows better than the psychologists. People react to trauma in different ways. Defendant said it was a factor, not the whole reason. I think the judge is over defending this mom and projecting because he did the same things to his mom and feels guilty. That being said the defendant was taking advantage of the mom probably as payback for his childhood.

Idk what happened in their house, but it's always these tough victims going to the abusers for money, cars, etc., when they don't have to and aren't (any longer) under duress.

He was done from the beginning of his testimony when he didn’t take any responsibility for his actions and blamed everything on his parents! I’m not completely doubting his testimony it’s just his lack of accountability that lost his case for him!

JM going against Psychologist IS INSANE. Let someone come in front of him and recite any law, he’s ready to flip the room upside down. Again, he got serious mommy issues. He really thinks all older women are great mothers/saints.

Exactly. Literally everything from our childhood helps shape us as adults. Not everyone may choose to cope by using drugs but there are so many other vices to choose from.

@4:32 I dont know whats what but ole Marlene seemed more shocked that he mentioned it publicly than at the thought of it being a lie. She never denied it. She was looking for judge to shut him up. He allows the children of crack heads to blame their parents but this guy can't claim that his addiction is in some part from his abusive childhood. GTFOH. He owes her but she seems like a very manipulative person. That voicemail proves it. It was one sided. Judge just looks for a chance to brag about what he is doing and claims to have done in the past. That man situation is not his.

JM...not everyone* handles situations the same or have access to the same resources. Of course, not everyone is going to go on and abuse drugs but that doesn't mean childhood trauma doesn't play a part.

Sometimes the truth can be staring some people right in their face and they will still make excuses, and I'm not just talking about the plaintiff or the defendant

Some people know good-and-well that they are not good humans, but they love this new age of blaming any and everyone for why they are the way they are.

The counterclaim was dismissed without hearing it! $200 for lost wages over a loan? You can't sue for that! That's nonsense!

JM needs to realize every woman is not HIS mother. Anytime someone has an issue with their mom he gets on his high horse. You dont have to defend your mom all the damn time

Why does he have such a issue with people.suing their parents? Not all parents are great. Not saying hes perfect by any means. Not saying shes lying. You cant get mad everytine a kid sues a parent.

Every single person is an individual with unique experiences and unique perspectives and abilities to process them. Some people grow up with biggots, abusers, addicts, etc. and they succumb to what they're taught and become that themselves... others fall into despair, and still others somehow overcome. But all are affected. Yes, it's absolutely believable that he turned to drugs to escape his feelings. And I'm glad he has been able to take positive steps forward. This court appearance didn't help matters. JM was absolutely wrong this time. The people who raised you should never get a free pass just because they did one or two descent things. They need to make the same restitution the drug users do. It starts with admitting their wrongs and making a genuine apology. I saw none of that here.
