Oh My God! Just when you think you have heard and seen it all! What a fabulous pack of useful info and more importantly what a presentation! No corny humor no self aggrandizing (even though your record is well deserving) and no overly dumbed down or jargon-filled. You are a natural teacher. How awesome to see the daughter of world class champions exceeding parents and carving a unique niche. Thank you Ms Lena. Well done indeed.
Lena you're the best instructor I've ever seen. Thank you for your time and excellence. Much better than a lot of shooters and operators here on UA-cam.
Your technique of putting your hands together and then drawing them back to your chest is a type of hand therapy that hand surgeons have used for years to strengthen your hands and to ward off carpal tunnel syndrome, while cutting hair for a living that was shown to me back in 1993 at the time until you showed it. I never thought it would work for shooting and guns.😊I grew up in a time where you you strengthen your hands and forearm, kept your eyes on the target, pointed it with your predominant eye and hand and a T stance of a Bullseyes shooter.
Comment from across the pond from Germany: Uplula has been available in Europe for a while and it is one of the best pistol related inventions ever. If you don't have one as a pistol owner, it's your own fault. Good that Lena brings this useful thing back to mind.
Turns out that my left elbow has been turning down during presentation . Causing shots to go left.I tried all the other shooters’ tips for left impacts. No permanent fix. I didn’t know I was doing this, until this video made me Look at my elbows.MUCH thanks Lena!
Thanks Lena for taking the time to explain the why's and demonstrate the how's. Too many pro-shooter's skip past us novice folks that do a bit of plinking or to stop a threat snakes, skunk etc. and your skill levels can zip by us when watching.
Every one of Lena's videos I have seen have had outstanding info. One note on her (Vulcan) 2 fingers on the trigger guard grip - this works for competitive shooters since they are not permitted to have pistol lights attached but most self defense/LEO have lights which prevent this type of grip.
I've got nerve damage and loading mags is tough. When I was shooting for my concealed carry permit the RSO brought me an UpLula and it was amazing. I wasn't as fast as Lena but it's crazy how easy one makes loading especially with new mags that have stiff springs. When I bought my P365 an UpLula was along side.
Great tips, especially about the elbows. Will have to try the two fingers over the trigger guard. Excellent tips, and excellent instructing- I love her teaching style.
Lena is the only well-known pro I see using the ‘trigger guard grip,’ which I have had some shooters use to great effect over the years. Thanks for being willing to show people that doing slightly different from whatever the ‘tactical shooting flavor of the week’ happens to be is OK, as long as it increases performance!
@@johnjubie7144 There's a video that Jerry Miculek, the man himself, tackles the same point that a dude makes when saying that: "There's no right or wrong way to do it, there's winning or losing". Always remember that "the current way" of gripping a handgun would be outrageous 40 years ago, and "40 years ago way" would be outrageous 80 years ago.
@@johnjubie7144 I do the same thing, ccw instructor said "can you shoot like that" I said absolutely, ended up being one of the two fastest and most accurate in the class. Other other guys only edge was his striker fired gun vs my double action SIG. They made me start firing with my hammer down so I wasn't quite as fast as the other guy lol
She emphasizes over and over CONSISTENCY. I like the more natural wrist angle when I put a finger in front of the trigger guard. The problem arises when the pistol in my hand has a smooth, rounded front on the trigger guard. I definitely would test this approach but for my 1911 bias.
thank you lena i have shot ipcic for 20 years and come only25th or less watching your tips i am now 4th and 5th thank you so much all these tip from good shooter help
Best instructions that I’ve ever seen on pistol grip. I really need help and I can already predict this will really help my shooting accuracy. Thank you Lena for sharing this with us. I will definitely hit the follow button after seeing this video.
You have taught me 2 valuable techniques that I did not know, thank you. And if it is stated as a 2A fact by a Miculek, then it always hits the bullseye! Take care, Lena!
Awesome, a Lena Miceluk video! Oh, wait some commercials first. Hang on, I have a maglula loader and yeah, it's awesome and everyone should get one. And progrip is great, I use that competing as well and it's totally not sticky. And then some awesome shooting tips. Yup, that's Lena giving out awesome advice as always!
Your explanation on using your body to control recoil is great. I have been shooting for awhile, but just could not seen to be consistent .. Bad days were not so bad just not as good as consistently my good days thank you for something new to try.. use my body to control recoil, after watching your video I dont think my stance was very good, consistent I mean.. thanks again
I have always been taught that my elbows had to be locked in order to minimize the recoil. With elbows locked and arms extended forward, the recoil would be absorbed by shoulders and middle high back that are actually stronger than bent arms. Thank you for your videos! From Italy
Thanks for the info on this one, thanks Lena, I have been following your dad for a long time, always been amazed with all that he's done in the shooting world 🌎, and watching you're video was cool, learning about this from some of the best shooter's in the USA, keep doing what you're doing, thanks 👍😊 and I enjoyed the clip on this one thanks again
Hi Lena, regarding the pro-grip do you have any recommendations on any type of shooting gloves? or gloves made for shooting? I have the worse case of sweaty palms and Pro-grip just becomes bad.
thats kinda cool. recently been using my fingers infront of the trigger guard and finding it much comfortable. only downside is i cant shoot if theres any add on like light etc mounted on my gun
Put the bandaids on first. I see too many people getting cut up from areas on their new pistols at their first instruction class. If they're getting uncomfortable, get that padding on before they start to dislike their new sport. An UpLula is also a UnLoader. There's a groove cut in the side. I need a class in Louisiana. Please.
this lady is absolutely amazing, made more sense than 20hrs of other UA-cam vids
I'm 64, raised in East Tennessee, and im learning soo much from you, thanks Lena.

Always practical, no-nonsense and entertaining presentation. Great work, Lena.
Great advice, especially the elbows, seldom does it mentioned in pistol trainings. Live long and prosper.
Also strength, your hands and forearm ever get taught in shooting either.
Yep, that elbow technique advice is invaluable.
Lena you're the best instructor I've ever seen. Thank you for your time and excellence.
Much better than a lot of shooters and operators here on UA-cam.
I don't think she would be a good instructor. I'd be looking at her and not paying attention.
@@DaveMiller2 hick
@@DaveMiller2 No worries. That happens with dogs, too. 🤣🤣
Totally agree ! Too much male ego😊

No nonsense...informative...looking for more from Lena.
Good tips! Always makes sense to review and renew because practice doesn't make perfect; PERFECT practice makes perfect.

I really like the trigger guard grip, but virtually everyone tells me it's a bad habit and don't do it.
Notice also that from that position she doesn't have to "cam" her wrist which increases the strength of her grip.

Hi Lena, regarding the pro-grip do you have any recommendations on any type of shooting gloves? or gloves made for shooting? I have the worse case of sweaty palms and Pro-grip just becomes bad.
