  • Almost a first reaction, but joyously different from Joni Mitchell's original version.

Ian Matthews (now Iain McDonald-Matthews) was one of the original members of Fairport Convention, when he was holding twin lead singer duty with the late, great Judy Dyble. Try "Reno, Nevada".

This is my favourite version of this song. It might be because it's the first version I ever heard, but to me this captures the vibe even better than Joni's gorgeous original. Iain Matthews has a beautiful voice, and the woozy, druggy ambience the band conjure up is perfect. The vocal harmonies are *sublime* too.

Excellent version of this song. Love this one and the Joni original, as well as the CSNY rocked out version.

Thanks! I have been searching for this version recently, but couldn't remember the group name. Memories of summers in the 60s!

There's a lot of music I haven't heard from the 60s and 70s and it's blowing my mind. Anything you got in mind for me to listen to?

This band from the U.K. did the best version of this song, even better than the song's writer, Joni Mitchell. Crosby, Stills and Nash's version charted higher but I think their version was loud and dreadful. I love the smooth, mellow vibe of this song.
