Can see why Sean Payton of the Broncos covets this guy. I actually like the more I watch him. Very athletic and can make things happen on the run which will be what he has to do with the Broncos. Hopefully he can take that next step that Drew Lock never could. But where will he go in the draft ?
As a 40 year Broncos fan...Love this pick...Gives me hope for a couple years from now . Next year is the learning curve for Bo. He will hit the playbooks hard and be a great film guy .
Funny, I have an idiot on reddit claiming he's unathletic and should've been a day 2 draft pick. I guess I shouldn't mind that other people have such bad takes on evaluating. What's crazy to me though is it's not just fans, it is the vast majority of analysts and NFL evaluators. His tape of every game I watch is much different than what he is smeared as, as a very limited QB. He makes all of the throws. Even if you remove all of the underneath throws Bo Nix's production would still be miles ahead of McCarthy's total output, so that argument is complete nonsense to me. He only has a couple bad balls per game, where as most of these guys have bad balls all over their tape.
Nix is a talented player but tbh this Oregon offense doesn’t showcase his true improvisational abilities so everyone just thinks he’s a checkdown fiend.
when people say that caleb loses to top 5 teams I always find it funny watching the QB they play, USC is a terribly built team. No wide receivers, no defense
This right here is a prime example of why he is not franchise changing. If he goes to a team that can’t put enough support around him he will struggle like he did with support in college

@httrprod No, The reason I am not a "Pro scout" is because I didn't try to become one. I have a much higher success rate at the QB position than all of them. Bo is Zach 2.0. He is undraftable. JJ, Daniels Maye, Caleb, Penix , Travis, and Mordacai are the only draftable QB's
@@TonydaGMjj isn’t far from Bo. Only thing going for him is his age, anticipation that he’ll develop, and weapons that he needs to be surrounded by in order to perform. His ceiling is a system
@@coachYte LoL you have zero clue on how to evaluate a QB. JJ has every single tool trait and intangible to become a 15 year franchise QB. Bo Nix is undraftable . JJ does not feel pressure, he scans the entire field on the run, Bo Nix has zero NFL anything.
Hard to evaluate this tape from Nix's perspective. USC's defense is absolutely atrocious
a lot of flash-fake slants and sprint out passes. not a terribly ambitious passing game. a lot of his passing yards generated on YAC in the 2nd and 4 completion and the 3rd and 13 completion in the first minute of the video. the TD up the seam from 2nd and Goal at the 20 was really nice. drive the ball, get it just over the underneath defender.
they didn't really challenge much vertical stuff, but man USC's defense is ASS. why risk anything when you know those suckers are going to whiff tackles?
That's kinda where I am too. One thing that I really like is that there weren't really any easy misses. He put the ball on the receivers in the flat. You can't always depend on that.
