I'm crying...Boondocks is the song my dad always played whenever he could, and Fishin' in the Dark is my parent's song. This is a belated thank you for this.
Everyones talking about the singing (rightfully so), but I think the video production was really well done.
Agreed. The video production was absolutely nailed on this one. I love it as much as the song and it just enhances this particular track so much!
These guys absolutely suck.
I just noticed when Tim hit the B0, Chris's hat was blown offXD I don't know if that was intentional, but I thought it was funny.
+Andrew Hoff :-)
I am so glad you pointed that out. I hadn’t noticed that. I’m going to be listening closer.
To be honest, it didn't explode, the hat just flew
What do you mean by BO?
@@BigD8404 B0 is a really Low note Tim sang lower than a four string bass. B0 is also the lowest B on the piano! The number after letters are used to show which octave the note is in you'll hear C4 as middle C. Octave example C1 D1 E1 F1 G1 A1 B1 C2 and so on. On piano there are a little over 7 octaves, including a couple extra on the low end. So Tim sang a B0 below the 1st octave!
Home Free is the new generation of "The Oak Ridge Boys" Thank you. Gal from the 60's...smiles. Keep your heads up and look forward.
+Marge Kreischer Aww shucks, thanks!
You know, if I didn't KNOW these were originally two separate songs that you'd mixed together, I might think it was all one song . . . because you made them fit so well!!
I truly appreciate Adam Chance even more now I've watched that old video. He's truly made a wonderfully talented and yet modestly well fitted addition to the group. Equals of excellence.
Tim Foust is in a Hall of Fame for having the widest vocal range
No he is one of the only few that can get that low. Don't get me wrong he is special.
Watch the all about the bass video and you realize this man could have three different voices with three different people and pull it off
@Aiden Amaya I think the op meant that Tim Foust is inducted in a Music Hall Of Fame, watch the 'Texas Eats with Tim Foust' videos, he's being inducted in those videos.
@@tonyakidd3405 I agree! Him and Geoff Castellucci from Voiceplay are amazing!
Tim Fous holds two world records one for the lowest note ever sung by a human & one for the widest vocal range (10 octaves). Impressive !!
I haven't been addicted to a singer or band since my early teenage-years.. and then I find out about you guys. God I love your music! Your voices are out of this world!
I agree totally. I was never really into country music, liking a tune here and there when it became a huge hit going mainstream, but never delving any further. Then Home Free came along and changed my mind.
I’m with you, their sounds flow through my mind always! The Sea Shanty medley has been rocking my brain for days now. I’m trying to replace it with this song!!
WOW ❤
This may cause an argument, but I have to say... Hands down the best acapella group out there! Always perfectly the best!
+KU1AcousticJam awwww
Best country acapella group without a doubt... but I think pentatonix is just as good I like them both equally
Got that right
No argument here!
Love this group yes definitely best in country i think they should team up with penatox and do some songs
Tims B0 at 3:28 Was Destroying my headphones holy Crap! THE LONGER HIS HAIR GETS THE DEEPER HIS VOICE IS!
+SkiMcgee ...body odor? :-P
Home Free :p
+Her0plays LC Not sure what you mean. That's him singing the bass.
Its not all 1 person singing 1 thing at a time they can record then loop a persons voice
I understand they are able to do loops, but are they doing any? I did not hear any overdubs there.
Home Free just blows me away. Each one seems to be super talented and when they come together, they all humbly showcase each other. Individually their talents are impressive, but together they give me the chills!
I feel no shame, I'm in love with Home Free!
Glad ya like our music!!
Ditto, Home Free is amazing!
Southamericangirl42 Why'd I read that to the tune of Down in the Boondocks?
Quite honestly, I prefer these guys compared to Pentatonix. They are original and raw, PTX just seem too "studio-ised" like they are autotuned etc but HF just always deliver.
Edit - I've slightly tweaked my feedback given this comment blew up!
Join the crowd! These guys are unparalleled and are thoroughly versed in the art of entertainment. The world better watch out!
+Mr Blue Sky You're not alone, I like them better as well!
There the best acapella group out there I showed all my family and friends and they are a fries now
I've always said the one major advantage to these guys compared to PTX is letting their bass member take a lot of solos - Avi barely gets any, it's like a little treat to hear his voice, where as Tim gets a lot. Also, I'd say Adam (Is Adam the beat boxer?) is better than Kevin from PTX
+Mr Blue Sky Home free's musics are more country/blues like meanwhile PTX are towards Electro and pop like. I really don´t compare the two groups bc they are unique in their own ways and sure are very good as well.
2:07 all day.
+VoicePlay hahaha you know it
+VoicePlay You're so not alone in this! :D
I know Im really late but y’all should try covering this.
I love that both of your groups are just in each other’s comment section - good on you all!
VoicePlay and and homefree my two fav a capella groups 😍😍
I love Austin’s hype vocals 😂
So do I. :)
My Grandson is staying in our RV with us. I am currently playing this. He is singing along! Ah, my Grandson, and Home Free!
2:25 there is a super quiet growl, who else can hear it
(Sounds more like a roar)
yep Tim having fun
I wish to get that low...
@@wyattbrown2122: My vocal range is: C#1 - A5.
E1 C#1
@@Marcell0Bass: it that a bass side note?
So much bass, so much harmonies, so much beatbox, can't deal, you guys are too good, you take away my ability to form a coherent sentence
+Lanky Nathan glad ya like!!
For anyone wanting to look up these two songs, the 1st was The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's 'Fishin' in the Dark', and the 2nd is Little Big Town's 'Bonndocks'. Unfortunately the title card and final end scene both say 'Down in the Boondocks' which was originally a Billy Joe Royal song, but this is not the song that was used in this mashup cover. Hope this helps!
Can we just talk about Austin's hair flip? GASP!!! Also, Tim "combing" his hair with the pitchfor, that is hilarious!!
Notice Tim coming his hair with a pitchfork at 3:25 😂😂😂
+Christopher Hunt (cjsgame) I love that it comes right after Austin doing his model-like hair shake/toss/whatever.... I laughed!
+Christopher Hunt (cjsgame) That's not a pitch fork...It's a hay rake.
*Combing
Yass
Loving the Boondock Saints style effects :D
And Austin's shampoo commercial moments xD
Oh my gosh. This was like my 70,000 time I listened to this song.
Here is my math:
One favorite song+ another favorite song+ my most favorite band ever= a masterpiece
+Tiff Babb Aww thanks glad ya like it!!
Please, never stop what you're doing.
We'll try :-)
Ya really
i love this song it takes me to my happy place 😊 💖
In case you cant hear that B0, just convert this song to MP3, go to audacity or some other music editing program and boost the bass and lower the treble (by like 100db each). Then you will hear the descending line, ending at B0
I didn't think it was possible to top your cover with the Oak Ridge Boys, but apparently I'm wrong!! this is so amazing!!
i agree, they keep wowing us!
+Holly Hubert I agree they amaze us with every video
+Natasha Tanke yes they do every single time
+Natasha Tanke have you seen seven bridges road.....omg
YEP. so amazing!!
This is my favorite video of theirs. One, the editing is fantastic and really creative. Second, I love these two songs. Not to mention Adam's outfit is bomb.
3:06 A wild green Austin appears suddenly then disappears 😂
I think it actually is
Proud to be a Country Girl. *Smiles.*
Have you guys thought about a Sweet Home Alabama cover? You could kill it!
Simple Man and Free Bird would be good too
“I know I have said this before, but the odds of us actually playing Freebird? There are no odds. It is not going to happen. I will start off with the first reason. We have no idea how to play Freebird. The second reason is. In the Love Bug’s natural habitat, that would fucking kill him and you wouldn’t want that. He is fucking adorable. He is cute. Thirdly, even if, pick your deity, came down from the heavens or wherever or the hills or wherever the deity lives and blessed us with this vast knowledge of Freebird. And we could play it backwards and sing it backwards. We still just wouldn’t do it. If this were the Make-A-Wish Foundation and you were going to die in 20 minutes- just long enough to play Freebird,- we still wouldn’t play it. Here is the end reason. The end reason is that life is just too fucking short to hear or play Freebird.”
-Isaac Brock
+Zachary Norris All I was saying was they are good songs. Home Free is great and creative with their own songs, covers and smash ups/remixes. If they wanted to do a smash up of Lynrd Skynrd songs it would be cool. If not cool too. Home Free is very talented no matter what song the do. So chill man and enjoy the music.
Omgosh! A Lynyrd Skynyrd cover would be so cool!
Love Austin's hair antics.
It's got a mind of its own!😂
Tim's growling bass sounds like the big pipes in a church organ. We might not hear the tone clearly, but we very surely feel it in our bones
GOAT of acapella. Hands down. PERIOD.
2:12 + 3:26 IS ANYONE GONNA SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE ADAM HITTING THE MICHAEL JACKSON HARD?!
Can't even say anything...
It’s beautiful
Its the cutest
He does a Michael Jackson routine in concert. It's awesome.
It took me so long to figure out who was doing the bass line at 3:08 and I finally figured out it was Adam making it while beat boxing. This group never stops amazing me.
I've heard Home Free sing this song many times. This is the first time I've seen the video - Trippy, Man!! Love their arrangements.
Hello, I'm from Brazil, I accompany you almost one year, you have done the country my favorite music genre, now just listen zac brown, Blake Shelton among others and of course you, I hope one day I can go to a show you, whether in Brazil or the USA where I want to know too, hugs and Thank you for existing!
0.14-0.38
best use of Austins voice i've heard so far ^^
Have been playing this on repeat for the last 4 days! Can’t keep it out of my head
I didn't know I needed this until I heard it.
Then had to replay it about 7 times to make sure it existed. Fabulous job, dudes.
+Lizz C. Garmadon Glad ya like it :-)
The simple truth about Home Free is that they could sing about cat food and make you want cat food...even without owning a cat...lol. Great blend of voices !
+mari kiley AMEN.
+mari kiley haha awww thanks
LOL LOL LOL LOL YOU JUST MADE MY DAY LOLOLOLOL!!!!!
true! very true!
Fishing in the dark/Boondocks Mashup is simply an outstanding video! Real interesting effects with color/texture/juxtaposition and dance moves. Not crazy about all of it, but enjoyed the whole experience. The thing about you guys, besides your excellent singing skills, is that you're never boring. Keep up the fine work and I'll keep watching.😇
You guys got a lot going for you y'all have made me an a capella fan I love country music and you guys are great there is NOT one weak link in your group your all awesome!
+Chloe Robinson Thanks so much Chloe
+Chloe Robinson chill out dude
Great choice on a mash-up! Loved it! Born in the boondocks myself, this makes me proud of my heritage! I teach in an area where most of the students fit the same criteria. I have become educated, got my masters, but I still remember fishin' in the dark. I hope to contribute to my students' education, but they should not be ashamed of the boondocks. Thanks! By the way, I loved the visuals, especially stomping on the chicken. You had to be raised in the boondocks to understand how mean a settin' hen or a rooster can be.
+Home Free I absolutely love the part where Chris put on his cowboy hat! It just oozes cowboy cool!
Tim in the end 3:15 goes like: Boondocks~(G4), say a little prayer for me~(G4) Eb1-C#1-C1-B0-C#1-Eb1-F#1-Eb1-F1 Heart(Bb1) and soul in the boondocks(Eb2-Eb1)!
Pleeeeez make a Garth Brooks "Thunder Rolls" cover!
Tim has inspired me to develop my already low voice into an even lower, fuller one. Thanks man. Also, I love Adam's technique and power behind his beats and rhythms, awesome work. Rob and Austin, you guys nail those high notes and give them meaning. Chris, you always know how bring a song back to its roots in where its from. You all do what you do amazingly. If I could pick some vocal teachers it would totally be you guys, the Pentatonix crew, and some other artists. I understand that you guys are incredibly busy, but I have a few small questions if you are willing to answer.
tobs mar im trying to be. i have a pretty solid register, my lowest comfortable chest note is usually C2 but sometimes its B1 or Bb1, and i an growl down to E1, and fry is somewhere really low that i dont know how to test or measure, but its crazy low, i also know subharmonics, and overtones, so im developing a wide vocal field for myself
tobs mar i should take voice lessons lol, im sure they'd have a field day with me
Technically I am a baritone. I don't even know how to do a growl note and actually make it a note. My lowest note is C#2, my lowest comfortable chest note is D2, My highest chest is C#4, my highest falsetto is Bb5, my highest whistle is F6, and my highest squeak is G7. This is coming from a [not even] 13 year old.
+Gabriel Derwin if you can get a d why baritone
InsertLogo to bad Chris quit, I'm really disappointed in that.. But Adam chance is good, just not the same.
Adam rocked this video! I am in love with these guys!! keep doing what you are doing
+Sarah Rodriguez Thanks Sarah!
Week eight of quarantine, and it's Home Free to the rescue
Month 9+ of quarantine, home free to the rescue
Almost a year of quarantine. Home Free to the rescue.
Month 13, still going
Those last two “You get a line, I’ll get a pole” we’re so sexy I think I actually died
Fishin' in the Dark has always been one of my favorite songs! Thank you for this.
+Layni Cade oh yay! glad ya like it
Fishin in the Dark has always held a special place in my heart because it was the song that played immediately after my husband proposed to me. Now it's even better because Home Free perfected it!! BTW we just had our 22nd wedding anniversary. ;-) Love you Home Free!! And my husband too. LOL
+becky schutte Aww yay
is it bad i listen to this song 5 times a day because
its so good?
We don't mind!
no it's not bad LOL I used to be OBSESSED with this song
Lachie McWhirter _ yo this is my 10th time is day so beat it 😂 jkjk
It's ok ur not alone
Only 5 times D: ?
Before I wasn't a big fan of country, but you guys totally changed that!! Thank you for what you do. Keep it up! ❤
Tim can sound EXACTLY like an electric bass!!
BRUTAL!
This is still to me a Masterpiece, Adams drum fill and Tim's B0 with amazing harmonies by Chris,Rob, and Austin The best home free cover ever
OMG Austin! Be still my heart with that hair flip *swoon* Amazing as always guys!
I love fishing and from the boondocks in Louisiana 💜 Iove y'all Home Free!
"Lazy Yeller Moon" You gotta love the southern flare. Everyone will have to sing that lyric that way now!
Thanks,
Josh
Fishin in the dark is one of my favorite songs & i couldn't have asked for it to be performed better as a mashup! I haven't heard the other song before this but it definitely works :)
I love this! I was looking so hard for a country acapella group. thank you so much for what you do, I'm working on a channel right now where I'll do covers, looking forward to creating music just like this.
Thanks so much!
This is definately one of my favorites!!!! I have mostly you guys on my ipod. Love your stuff!!! keep em coming!!!
+tonya longley aww thanks!
Thinking of it as I listen to this song on repeat...
I have to say this is one of your best songs you've ever put out. This is such a fantastic showcase of all your individual talents. Austin, Rob and Chris shine through with their incredible vocals and harmonics, Tim absolutely decimated those bass notes (rip subwoofers) and Adam's technical game is so on point you could set a metronome to it.
This is why I prefer you to Pentatonix. They are an extremely talented bunch of kids, but they don't diversify. It's only ever about the three singers with the bass and beatbox getting slim to none in the way of solos and focus.
You guys PUSH Tim to the front. You guys step back and let Adam shred the best in the world. You each take turns sharing the mic and it (I have found) has produced a far more diverse, recognisable and vibrant group with far more identifiable members.
Seriously, never stop with the wonders you 5 are consistently producing.
Yours sincerely, an Australian fan.
I definitely agree with you!! When my mom showed me their Ring of Fire video, she wanted to go to their concert.
At the time I thought Pentatonix was better. But, now that I've been to one of their phenomenal concerts, and I watch every one of their videos on repeat, I prefer Home Free.
They are so talented and can give pretty much any pop song a country twist, and every time it sound great!!
+Lanky Nathan Thanks for the love!!
R u guys coming to wi
uh... pentatonix do solos all the time with all of their members and everyone else do effectively become background singers. diversity? a few guys and a good bass vs a few guys, a good bass, an extremely talented female singer, and a guy with an incredibly unique high voice you literally cant match. not salty just dont understand your point
Lanky ofkx dkldld
The hair toss is my favourite bit, oh and the hair swipe. Gets me every time.
this is one of their Best songs ever !!! Never ever get tired of it. Yes Austin OMG shake that hair, Love it !!!
I’m a widow and your music brings light back to my heart and a dance back in my step . Thank you
I listen to this 30 times a day
+London Lane We don't mind
Thumbs up to Chris growin his hair back out!!!
My mom is sick of me singing Home Free around the house. But when I played this, she loved it! Thanks for another great video!
haha glad ya like our music
Possibly the best music video ever...
2 of my favourite songs in 1. WOW What a great job. I enjoy listening to Home Free every chance I get. The people I live with think I lost my mind, but Hubby now uses Tim's line of "2 things" when he needs to tell me stuff. :-)
+MsBCLady Glad ya like our music
Yesterday I took the headphones off and my parrot went CRAZY---it was bad enough BEER BUDDIES everyday "that's my jam" (Beer Budget), now he has a new jam---poor thing--he want's to be a Home Fry so bad he's started clucking like a chicken and has really gotten into this mash up. Thanks guys, your spoiling us with all the new songs and I am so proud to be a patron.
+Patricia Montoya Hahahaha! BEER BUDDIES! :-)
+Patricia Montoya haha!! thanks for the support, patricia!
AMEN!! Love my Southern upbringing!! Simple life, basic Truth and respect....
I'm totally hooked on these guys 👍
Know what I would love to hear them do. Seven Bridges road, Lean on Me, and 40 hour week
I honestly think they would kill it.
+Lynx Cub Our new album is available for pre-order! Check out the track lsit! shophomefreevocalband.squarespace.com/cds/country-evolution-cd-deluxe-edition-autograph-pre-order
+Home Free Ahh man.. Seven Bridges Road is on there. Awesome!
Any chance of a vinyl record?
These songs are 2 of my FAVORITE songs! You guys are awesome!!! My sister got me listening to you and...just ...WOW!
+DeAnna Treat aww thanks
+Home Free I can't listen to the originals now...Cause they don't sound right anymore! :)
Very few,,,very few, groups of singers that call themselves entertainers, actually entertain.
YOU fellas, DO entertain.
I automatically smile when you sing, an upbeat aura takes over.
A great big thank you for that.
You're on my bucket list to see in concert...
🤗
2:17 Austin looks like Michael Bolton 😂
He does a little bit. But I think he was trying to do a Fabio...lol. Love it.
3:18 "I'll get a line; I'll get a pole..." Want something done, do it yourself?
Fantastic! This god-like vocal percussionist has to be the best in the a Capella business. Subwoofers need to be calibrated after B0s from Tim. And you three absolutely destroying all the leads, be it screaming high rocking chords or serenading your viewers slow and steady. Can not believe how you continually top your previous vids.
+Ethan Bruner Haha thanks so much Ethan
Still one of my favourites, this song has an easy vibe to it, but at the same time there's some intensity. Love it and love Home Free!!:)
Austin sounds like he was born to sing words like "yeller" and "crick"
Can we talk about how handsome they all are?
Bethany Rose Trauger Yeah, how many times or how strongly can I like this comment? Lol!
Yes we can
Yes please lol I'm crushing on Adam and Austin
@@ashleysheree7057 Tim though... ugh I love rich bass voices
@@bethany7505 oh yes Tim is very handsome too! I love me some bass also. They are all good looking guys, but Adam and Austin have my heart lol
awesome you guys nailed it looking forward to more great songs
Thanks!
Fishin’ in the Dark has special meaning to me so hearing the guys do it gives me warm fuzzies all over!! PLUS there are parts of the video there just ain’t words for, especially the hair tossing bits!! For those that don’t like the song, hey novel idea, DON’T listen to it & then get negative about it & ruin it for the rest of us, just like I wouldn’t go listen to a rapper I didn’t like, then post a bunch of negative stuff!!
Love your music, makes me so happy. Cant wait for new songs. Greetings from Denmark
Thanks so much!
Fishin in the dark has always been one of my favorite country songs..You guys did fantastic on it. Great mix.
The special effects are genius. What an amazing video. Love Home Free's performance. Adam.... wow, he's got moves.. All of Home Free is unique, amazing, and above all very entertaining. Amazing guys!
+ImmortalMartyr Thanks!!
I haven’t been a real big country music fan until Home Free! Everything you do is excellent! You guys are my favorite ❤️🇺🇸
yanno, i hadnt heard them before until a friend from work had me listen. Now im addicted to listening to them. Amazing.
I like how Adam used throat bass in the last part of the song! very good use of that!
that was tim
Amazing group! Pure musical clarity! Love their arrangements too. I love listening to them with headphones as you hear the nuances in each voice as well as the perfect blending. I've always loved acappella as you can actually hear the talent of the voices. Too many times with music today, talent gets covered up with instrumentation. Some artists today can't sing without all of that background.....and there are some that aren't even good singers in the first place. I don't go to concerts anymore for that very reason along with the exorbitant ticket prices....because for some, it's not about the music, it's about the production. I truly hope Home Free continues to gain popularity with their music. This is one group I'd for sure go see in concert!
+Lynnette Thorne If you like them in their videos or from listening to their CDs, you will LOVE them after seeing them live. Was already a huge fan before I went to a concert. They are even more amazing live!
+Lynnette Thorne thanks for the love lynnette!
This is so cool. I love you all so much. Greetings from Lübeck Germany 🇩🇪
Just about destroying my headphones with the bass! Love it! Who doesn't love this kind of harmony and earth shattering bass. Tim ranks up there with Tim Riley and the Southern Gospel Basses that have that kind of boom in their voices!
+Brandon Riggs :)
I'm Natalia. Come from Poland. I love your songs. I waite for more!
This is awesome, so awesome. Can't wait to hear it live on the Dont It feel Good Tour this fall
+Genevra Lazzaretti Glad ya like it!
listens to one song-oh I love that one-see's another one-OH I love that one-see's another one- OH! literally can't stop.. lol
Adam must have an incredible metabolism, he never stops moving!
Hahaha... Agree.
