- Our first time camping (besides the backyard video) and we have an encounter with bear. Learned a lot from it and it gave us both a huge adrenaline rush. First time I have ever seen a black bear outside a zoo and it was pretty scary at first but learned how they can be very docile but also dangerous if you don't keep your distance. #FindYourDistance
Wow! I was lucky enough to see a black bear alone on a hike last year, but this is truly awesome! Amazing to see the whole family and also from the safety of a parked vehicle. Thanks for sharing!
For future reference, you should try to move campsites as most bear attacks occur with the second trek into a campsite.
You can be less concerned when you have bear spray! It works wonderfully when used correctly. Beautiful animals. Thanks for sharing!

Mama black bears aren’t aggressive around their cubs like grizzly bears.
Bridget Hurtuk yea at the time i didn’t know, but better be safe than sorry! Also good to keep distance from wild animals as a general practice, regardless of predator or prey.

someone will see that comment, and realize it too. I’m visiting shanandoah next month, and I’m trying to learn to be more relaxed with the idea of bears. I’m from northern Ohio, no bears here.

Not as aggressive as grizzlies however if Mom has a bad day yes she will attack you then it's your life her and her Cubs also in peril as attack bears are usually shot. Sad but the truth.
