@@alanaceves7200 deon bullshit. Took 1 season n teams stopped kicking to hester in nfl. Deion played years and that never happened. And his rookie year was far beyond anything ever done in a season returning kicks and punts for the team that made it to a super bowl with no offense and the defense and hester literally won about 7 games on either his returns for winning td or defensive scores. But his tds played a huge role in that season I'm Chicago fan and I admit that we shouldn't have been in the super bowl that year and yet we made it work with Hester returning kicks in big situations multiple times to help seal the win along with our defense but deion never was that dangerous or crucial in his team's success. Plus for the millionth time deion played in a different area than Hester it was not the same game or pace his returns were just a fast guy on a field with a lot of much slower players who were less organized and trained as in today's game. I'd like to see him play cb in the NFL today n see how good he can do today. Against far more complex routes than before with entirely different receivers and the timing and complexity of the passing game. He sure as shit wouldn't be a tackler wasn't then either n the receiver's would moss him today I've seen his highlights and ball skills and going up to pick ball against 6'3 guys wasn't part of his game

What was incredible about him was he didn't seem to have a top gear.. No matter how fast he was already going, if he needed to speed up even a little bit, he could do it. The burst is insane. & some of the cuts he could make were amazing. I speak in past tense cuz obviously 30 yr old Hester isn't nearly as quick. But he's still fast, & he still has the vision to see lanes opening before they actually do. That's why I see him as hands down the greatest returner both the NCAA & NFL have ever seen.
Players like Ted Ginn Jr., Desean Jackson, Chris Johnson may be faster but Devin Hester has better change of direction which helps him elude defenders rather easy imo. Dude is a threat everytime he touches the ball even though he hasn't been making noise as of late.

Ted Ginn is faster in a straight line than just about anyone. Or he used to be. He was a legit Olympic sprinter. Of course that doesn't translate to football quite as well as change of direction...

I was fortunate to watch DH live a handful of times at the []_[]. The gators games was electric and unreal to watch his speed along with smoothness. Everyone on the field looked slow compared to Devin and he had tons of speed on his teams those days. College and pro football hasn't seen anyone like him since. Go Canes

The past few years his cuts haven't been that sharp though.I think he's going to have another great year though with only having to worry about returning punts and kicks like his first couple of years in the league.First 2 years in the league I believe he had 13 combined returns, and then was integrated into the offense at WR, and his returns went down from there.I think he'll have at least 6 or 7 this year

I wonder what the Bears were thinking when they drafted him in the 2nd round because he wasn't a great corner at Miami and you don't usually draft guy's just to return punts and kicks that early it definitely paid off tho
