"This ain't crazy baby this is called healing." that line is just... Whoa
So much emotion and power in one poem... I applaud her for writing about something that must've been so hard to witness.
"I didn't know resentment could cancer the mind."

To be strong is not to spread seed. To be strong is to nurture one garden, to love only one rose.

I'm 14, I would love to be able to write like this! I can only write in metaphors. I'm really good at them... but I want to be able to do this so bad!
Lillian Harris i hope you kept writing💕
metaphors are a great start, especially for poetry!! once you’re good at metaphors it’s just a matter of time before you get good at weaving them into real information and making amazing poems, stories, and other writing. you got this! don’t stop writing!!

Whats her name
If anyone doesnt understand the guy cheated and the feeling of betrayal and all of that still affects the wife because cheating stays with a person idk this is my explanation
my mother.... she's your grandmother.
can someone explain
Hey, I'm chanel, the one who wrote the poem :) what would u like to be explained ?
Chanel Dupree This is beyond amazing ! Great job
thank you so much !
I don't get like was your grandma annoyed of what your granddad did like I don't understand the story ! sorry im reallly new to this !...
101amana Sorry for the late reply. My grandmother has resentment for my grandfather for cheating on her for the majority of their marriage. she did not get to heal from the cheating because she was raising their family. now that she is older and her mental state is different and she still hasn't healed from it, his actions still haunt her.
Oh, yikes.. I hear that!
Did the grandmother actually catch the grandfather cheating on her? Couldn't she just be senile and the grandfather wrongly accused? Of course, I don't know either of the two but this poem just leaves me wondering.
I think the point is that YEARS ago he cheated on her and this is how she's handling it now.
I was just saying that we don't know if he cheated, it seems as though the grandmother "knew" he cheated without actually her seeing it or her admitting it. Then again I don't know the whole story so maybe she actually did catch him or he told her.
Hey. I'm chanel dupree. To answer your question, my grandmother did catch my grandfather cheating. She could not leave because this was in the 50's and there was no where for her to go and she had five children to raise
That is the thing I thought should have been made more clear in the poem. I actually liked the poem but that little fact makes a world of difference since we can't just assume that he cheated just because the grandmother thought he had by smelling foreign sweat.
Chanel Dupree I feel it was made clear :) such a beautiful poem
Excellent piece, emotions conveyed nicely
