I have a theory to why these images remind of us things we really don't remember. Since the image is out of context, empty, and unexpected, our brain tries to develop a form of in context based off the image by putting ourselves in the view of the image, instead of usually imagining a crowd of people like you'd normally see In a public place.
None of the images seem nostalgic or familiar for me, because im brazillian and all of those places look like something out of a american movie or something, not common areas i'd usually visit lol
Well the real reason these places seem familiar is because we see these places in our dreams but when we wake up it’s distorted see than we see these places in real life or on screen and it’s is super familiar
nah it's just hazy images with vibrant colors. it's inherently dreamy and has artistic value that can instantly be welcomed in most people's minds (especially americans) because of its familiar patterns/colors from childhood combined with a sense of artistic idealism. It's kinda like when you listen to a really good song and it instantly feels like you've known it your whole life, that's mainly because of the fact that certain melodic phrases often repeat in most music genres, just rearranged and played with tons of different sounds. the equivalent in these images are things like checkerboard patterns and complementary color harmony. that color harmony is in most of the childish-looking ones i think Also for us humans, it's easy to convince ourselves that we feel a certain way when we're actually feeling something else.
Plot twist: This is actually the place where you went to play the video game called life that you're currently playing. Which is why its so familiar. It's the place you'll wake up to after you exit this reality.
This feels just so fcking dreamy and like it is a long time ago idk why, just a big nostalgia kick, but also like it's another Illusion of a 'better world' somewhere..
0:22 I remember this store, I was twiddling away at this DS Incredible Hulk game and wondering what those waffle shaped cookies tasted like. I was right near the fruit , leaning up against the produce with my backpack still on at around 5.30 and despite being told I'd always have trouble focusing I had never been more concentrated on anything but beating the boss of that level towards the start. (It wasn't difficult but I wanted no matter what not to get hit once) That pantry only exists here now, where it was is just some bank known for scamming customers with a generic name I can't even remember now.
One thing I'm continuously reminded of is the two car crashes I got into, how those simple car crashes when I was 11 and 12 changed the course of my life drastically. I saw those nights how quickly things could go bad. Those crashes changed my life, for the better or for the worse. I became depressed at some point, unknowing of where my future was to go. I felt stuck in my room at the trailer that I no longer call home. Every day I spent in that room, barely coming out of it. It felt like a dream, like I wasn't even alive. Everything just kept marching on, I didn't know what to do. And I find it funny how the crashes occured almost exactly 11 months 1 day 1 minute apart 1st Crash December 8, 2017 5:56 PM 2nd Crash November 7, 2018 5:58 PM

Like a memory with all the people and events happening removed and only the setting remains.

Bro I’ve been into these places, but when?..

In your dreams. Probably why you're struggling to recall, since we can't remember dreams well.
In your past life

One of my scariest Fears
imagine a park thats used to popular in the 2010's but now its empty and...full of nostaligia..
0:03 no, please, anything but the liminal hotel, someone even made the map in garry's mod, its even more terrifying, please no

Exactly what I was thinking
