I prefer Explorer over CDNIM, especially the limited one. CDNIM can be a bit polarizing at times whereas Explorer is a bit dialed back at can be worn pretty much anywhere, occasions or otherwise.
Picked it up while I was in Florida and now every time I smell it I’m transported to Bonita beach. Smells amazing to me.
Montblanc explorer is my all time favorite fragrance. You can wear it ANY season and literally ANY occasion you can possibly think of.
Probably the only scent I'd wear to a job interview
CDNIM is stronger but very synthetic and cheap smelling. Explorer is more dialed down, doesn’t last as long but has a beautiful scent.
Man I love explorer. I like how it has that aventus dna but goes in a lil diff direction too. It’s fire to me. To me it’s not redundant to have with cdnim

Dig ya Cuba, and mostly agree wit ya, but Explorer is to Aventus as Moustache is to Tuxedo. Both MB & Rochas did FANTASTIC jobs putting these two joints together.
I enjoy it. For me it's an easy reach during late spring and summer.
It's a nice grab in go fragrance for me definitely for the price I've gotten lots of compliments from it

I have Aventus, Afnan Supremacy Not Only Intense, Armaf CDNI edt, and MontBlanc Explorer. Since the EDT left a bad taste in my mouth, and the Afnan is strong on the Black Currant, I don’t see Explorer as redundant. It’s basically a cheaper Aventus that smells exactly the same in the air. I only paid $44 for a 100mL so I don’t regret it. I can use 2-3 sprays of Aventus and 4-5 sprays of Explorer.

In Europe I think Explorer is a much better value option than CDNIM. My main regret was not buying it sooner.
Bought it like 45 dollars yesterday . Amazing . But to me looks even closer to cdnim and aventus now more Smokey than sweet from last bottle I finished a couple of years ago . I can use it without the guilt of using the Og aventus I am happy enough . Just for coincidence I had moustache from yesterday and it looked so better . By way club de nuit is a lot more expensive now than explorer
I had Mont Blanc, but it didn’t perform that good on my skin, only got about four hours and it was gone. Club De Nuit Limited Edition Parfum, and my Afnan Supremacy Not Only Intense, those to me are way better alternatives that are in that price point. Performance is way, way better. I get around eight to ten hours easy on my skin sometimes more depending on the weather. And projects much better, gets more complements. Right now my Mont Blanc is just a paper weight.

Recently bought Zion by Alexandria Fragrances and I'd say stick with Explorer. Blended these two scents and it works
I’ve smelled Aventus, Bond9 HTTP, Explorer & Elysium. On scent strips and on skin. Of those 4, (because of the price/value) I perfer Mont Blanc’s EXPLORER for this scent DNA.
Besides….. it’s not full size bottle worthy for me, but is definitely worth it to get a decant. I wish i could get a Parfums Vintage decant. 💯

I have explorer & like it, for what it is. smelled la' venture the other day and it lasted like 24 hrs on a strip. Smelled nice too, different from explorer in my opinion. More citrus smelling. Will probably go for that next. Smelled the cdni edt a while back and didn't care for it. May get the parfum or just stick with la venture
My wife loves it, but its a solid C grade from me. I wear it the least of the 27 sents I own. Its very middle of the road but I legend red too and that's a C as well.
I prefer it over cdni edp which I sold. Almost out of my 100ml so copped the 200ml. Great dumb reach fragrance.
Bought a 100 ml bottle for $38. Happy that could get a designer bottle for that cheap

I prefer Explorer to all the clones. May even prefer it to Aventus, which I own. I definitely wear it more often.
One bottle I had, 15 sprays & it lasted 3/4 hrs maybe. Sold it, years later got another bottle & 5 sprays last 6 hrs. It’s ok, just a gym scent for me 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

Mister Cubaknow. Over the years you have put me on some good fragrances. I want to recommend a fragrance. My wife bought if for me. I'm telling you the fragrance is fireeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. The name of the fragrance is Anfas Dhai. If you get a chance to try it let me know what you think. Peacee
so before i got into frags i didn’t know my brother wore clones and then Aventus for a few years, i sometimes smelled his scent trails and thought maybe his clothes just stank or hasn’t showered haha. so i could never get into that scent profile because it reminds me too much of him, and i definitely don’t want to smell like him. i believe it’s the Ambergris/Ambroxan that smells.. dank/stanky? so these are a no for me lol
It is not about the name brand. Explorer smells 10x times better than club de nuit

I love Mont Blanc Explorer for about the first 4 hours. After that it’s just the ambroxan punching me repeatedly in the face which I’m not a huge fan of.
The first 20 mins (opening) is amazing. Then it takes a dump. Ambroxan sour bomb

Club de nuit is better, but Mont blanc explorer is still more popular with the girls than club de nuit. It's because explorer is a top note fragrance where it's more light and airy, CDNIM is base heavy so it's more dense and thicker which isn't always better but it does have better performance. I think explorer stays more true to actual aventus in the fact that aventus is also top note fragrance that is supposed to be lighter and airier. It's supposed to shine most in the opening and then the dry down should be lighter so you only get some light wifts of it in the air. CDNIM is the type of fragrance that stays heavy even in the dry down and when you smell it, you smell a lot of it and can be overpowering. Aventus and explorer are not supposed to be overpowering but rather slightly classier by staying fresher and less dense

Why do I feel sick when I smell Montblanc Explorer?
Classier smell vs any CDNIM variant. More wearable at ahy climate as well. The Godly drydown people love with CDNIM or the Aventus DNA is here plus more. Explorer is becoming underrated
Explorer is my personal 2nd favorite scent, it does not have pineapple or smokey birch and dries down with a ton of patchouli and some leather so I don't understand why it's "a aventus clone" wouldn't a clone have pineapple and smokey birch resin? it's somewhat like aventus but it's cleaner and just better and doesn't have the annoying pineapple or the smokey birch
It's OK. It doesn't seem to last on my skin. ATH says it's radiant off his skin.
ATH says explorer is better than CDNIM...mainly because it's closer to what aventus should be. Lighter and airier, not a dense and base heavy fragrance like CDNIM. He doesn't feel like CDNIM was able to capture the same quality of aventus and the same balance of aventus, but he feels like explorer did this probably the best at capturing the quality and balance of aventus
Personally, I prefer Club De Nuit Intense Man EDP. Such a beautiful fragrance. I love how much more smoky it is.

I can see why you’re a bit annoyed with it. Mainly because Aventus has been cloned so many times that its DNA is hard to miss. So when a “new” fragrance comes out from a designer brand that’s well known, and you find out that it’s a clone of a popular yet expensive fragrance, if it was your first time knowing then that’s a different story, but since you review fragrances and have tested out all types, I can see why it can annoy you. Simply due to the fact that again, this fragrance has been cloned so many times. And while Montblanc Explorer is still a great alternative, there’s other clones or inspirations out there that pretty much get the job done in a much better way. Rebel my Pete & Pedro is a great example. Sure it’s not necessarily a clone, but you can tell that it was definitely inspired by Aventus. It’s similar to Montblanc Explorer. In terms of longevity and projection. But its scent has its own twist to it. It’s not as smoky in the drydown. It’s more fruity with a bit of wood and tiny bit of oak moss but mainly fruits. It’s a great scent that definitely does give you that Aventus vibe to it. But Montblanc has that smokiness that Aventus has in the drydown which I why I believe some will probably like that version better. To me, it doesn’t matter if you have the original creed, Montblanc or Rebel, they pretty much smell the same, but of course you can still pick up the differences. The only upside is that Rebel is $50. And smells like it’s $400 haha.

Explorer is weak sauce. Feint, weak. Not Long lasting. Entry level, for the beginner just getting into fragrances. That was me 3 years ago
