To this day, the show at the Fox theatre in Atlanta was the greatest concert I've ever seen. Nothing else comes anywhere close. It was straight up magical. Everybody wandered out of the place in a bewitched daze. Whenever I meet someone else who was there, it's almost like we're reminiscing over an ancient ritual that we both once witnessed. I'd give anything to see him again.
Same thing for me for the show in Prague on that tour! The only other gig that comes near to that incredibly mistfying experience was my bloody valentine in Manchester in their first comeback tour in 2008.
Yes to all u said,he was almost 60 here so the stamina he had here is outstanding but I think it's too much for people to expect another tour he's 75 this year

Columbus native here. That show sold out in like 10 minutes... my wife and I tried so hard to buy the tickets as soon as they went up for sale... sadly wasn't lucky enough. I fear this may have been the last chance for me to see Tom live 😢. At least there's videos like this ❤
I didn't have the money to buy tickets for this tour... I thought.. no big deal, I'll just catch him next time. That hasn't worked out so well.. I regret it every time I hear his music. This is wonderful to see though, thank you for uploading it.

I was first exposed to Tom Waits in 1986. I was in a huge transitional phase in my life. From that point on, Tom wrote the sound track of my life. He led me on a tour of my past and sprinkled magic dust on my future. I can't thank him enough.
I got turned on to Tom in 1983-84. The the guys who did have both passed since then. I had lots of waits cassette tapes. I was given a Get Behind The Mule tour tee shirt it's been hanging on my wall since that tour
I got to see the Glitter and Doom in Phoenix on the PESCAJUMPEHDTSCKJMBA tour with my son. To this day he still says it was the best concert he has ever seen. I have to agree, Outside, a young man offered me $1000 dollars for one ticket. You already know what my answer was. I met people who traveled from other countries to Phoenix to see the show. That part was pretty cool I thought.
I live in Washington State... I've been waiting to see Tom Waits (my favorite artist) for years... I know he'll never play here, so I've given up my dream of seeing him live, and am now just praying for a new studio album!!!
I was a senior in high school and just started listening to Tom Waits the summer prior. My English teacher told us how he saw Tom Waits in Columbus, and I’m still feeling the fomo to this day missing that tour! Tom’s my biggest bucket list performance I’ll probably go to the grave with, but this softens the blow :)
This tour was the one and only time I had a chance to see Tom live, in Jacksonville, and man, am I ever grateful that I was able to get a ticket and get there. One of the most memorable and wonderful things I've ever had the good fortune to experience. This recreation is a treat, thank you for putting it together and posting it!

Tom's from another era, both past and future. Sounds like he's got a couple of yards of gravel rolling around in his singing voice and songs. He goes right to the pit of it all. Great stuff.
He has admitted that his gravelly voice was from hard living with smoke, drugs and booze, and that was early in his career. There is no other voice out there that is as recognizable as his especially now

The Lo-fi gritty visuals so perfectly marries with the gloriously raspy majesty of this music. I can only imagine how wonderful it would have been to be in the audience of these gigs.
Saw him in Edinburgh a week after my son was born...flight from cardiff, straight to the gig, jazz club after and a 5 am flight back..what a time...great show❤

I got to see him live in a small 350 seat venue in Rochester NY just after his Nighthawks album was released. I was a fan before then , but afterwards…WOW!

The great Susan Sarandon with her then-hubby and Pearl Jam frontman, Eddie Vedder, was seated right in front of me. They were singing along brother Tom. They knew all the words or all the songs!

Came onto Tom a few years ago. I can't believe I never heard of him before. What it was, a UA-cam video of Cookie Monster with the song God's away on business dubbed over. AND I WAS BLOWN AWAY CAUSE HE SOUNDED LIKE COOKIE MONSTER!!!!!! So from there I looked him up and became a fan. It sucks I'll never see him live in concert, but love I have these videos to enjoy!!!!!
I got a phone call from a record company in 2008. Someone told me they heard I would be interested in seeing Tom Waits in a small theatre in Antwerp that had been sold out in literally seconds on line. I had seen him years before in the Olympia in Paris, but this experience, seeing Tom arriving with his son in the afternoon behind the theatre and the concert at night where he clearly felt like a preacher before his congregation, was over and beyond. I flew from Reno NV to Memphis TN to see him. It was glorious. Partied on Beale St. and saw my favorite artist. Would do it again tomorrow and travel even longer distance if necessary.

Seeing you walk on stage was akin to being made to realize that Sasquatch was real- after all the grainy footage and recordings, here he was in the flesh! I drove almost 500 miles to see the show--Virginia to Ohio--Found myself sitting next to people who had traveled from Connecticut--More than worth it--I'd do it again tomorrow--
I attended at this concert in Prague, I arrived on that afternoon and on the way to hotel I saw the poster of the concert, it was very difficult to get ticket. I still have the ticket with my name on it
Tom is the best. The first time I saw him was way back in 1973. He always put on a great show. Closing Time was his first album, and he has released many more that were always great. Thanks, Tom for all your wonderfully different music.

I was so lucky to see the show at the Saenger in Mobile. It was incredible. The sound in that theater was flawless. And the sawdust - oh the sawdust! This video is an outstanding effort, so much fun to re-live something like the experience.

I remember when Waits wandered the UW-Madison campus with just a guitar and would park himself at random spots to play his songs. I've been a fan of his for life, but every live performance I see him do on YT just solidifies my opinion that he's the greatest songwriter alive.
I was blessed to see this tour in Houston from the 4th row! (which was supposed to be the first row but they added AA, BB & CC rows in front of row 1). Of the thousands of shows I've seen over now 4 decades, this show ranks in the top 5 easily. It is the stuff of legends. My friends who I went with still talk about it all the time, 16 years later. Thank you for recreating that magic.
I saw him on this tour at the Alabama Theater in Birmingham. Innocent when you dream became a singalong! His son was playing a drum kit and conga. When one of his drum sticks broke he just kept playing with one stick and his hand! One of the best Waits concerts I've seen, awesome tour. Would've loved one of the posters, but he doesn't let anyone have those. The Alabama is a great venue because of the acoustics.
I’m German and do not speak French but this is so clear and really good explained and developed. Might take me lots of hours to get my fingers following the idea. It’s a great song and this pattern opens up a lot of possibilities. Merci!
I'm so fortunate to have seen him in 3 concerts, 2000 in Warsaw, then 2008 Dublin and I think 2011 in Amsterdam, those were magic nights. I hope he will tour again
I hope there will be a physical media release, even with the fan footage. As an almost 40 year old Aussie, last time you were in my country was before I was born. So I always knew there was no chance to see you live. Owning a dvd/blu ray would be the next best thing.

Tom Waits is his own genre, but goddamn, he just puts every single death metal vocalists to shame. He eats them for breakfast.

I remember when Waits wandered the UW-Madison campus with just a guitar and would park himself at random spots to play his songs. I've been a fan of his for life, but every live performance I see him do on YT just solidifies my opinion that he's the greatest songwriter alive.
I was blessed to see this tour in Houston from the 4th row! (which was supposed to be the first row but they added AA, BB & CC rows in front of row 1). Of the thousands of shows I've seen over now 4 decades, this show ranks in the top 5 easily. It is the stuff of legends. My friends who I went with still talk about it all the time, 16 years later. Thank you for recreating that magic.

Saw him on the stop in Dallas. I still reminisce about that show to this day. How lucky I was to actually get to see Tom Waits play live.

I saw him on this tour at the Alabama Theater in Birmingham. Innocent when you dream became a singalong! His son was playing a drum kit and conga. When one of his drum sticks broke he just kept playing with one stick and his hand! One of the best Waits concerts I've seen, awesome tour. Would've loved one of the posters, but he doesn't let anyone have those. The Alabama is a great venue because of the acoustics.
I’m German and do not speak French but this is so clear and really good explained and developed. Might take me lots of hours to get my fingers following the idea.

I'm so fortunate to have seen him in 3 concerts, 2000 in Warsaw, then 2008 Dublin and I think 2011 in Amsterdam, those were magic nights. I hope he will tour again
