Great and informative tutorial. Thanks BTW, one use for the linear gradient is to intersect it within a sky mask for example and then adjust part of it.
A good quick look at the masks. A couple of comments, I wish you had gone into more depth on adjusting the gradient masks. I did learn about the presets for people masks from this video.

Hi Anthony, Brilliant video for Lightroom users, however I use ACR and when selecting the face mask it doesn't have the dropdown menu of presets, can you demonstrate the ACR method of applying these Presets
Here is the following question. If you photographed a giraffe shot with a f/2.8 aperture heading head-first toward you and in post processing you select subject masking in Lightroom is masking aware of the shallow depth of field or will it select the whole subject irregardless of focus? Does masking sometimes have trouble with shallow depth of field? Will subtract masking help with that?
Seeking clarification. Anthony has Add and Subtract buttons after Selecting Subject. He uses a Mac. I use Windows and do not have access to Add and Subtract. Can other Windows users verify if they have acces to them or not. If you can, then I surmise it might be a Graphics Card issue with mine not fuully meeting all the specifications. TIA
Add and Subtract does appear on my Windows machine, even before I upgraded my graphics card. Perhaps you could see if it works with other masks, such as the Brush mask after you add a stroke. Failing that, you could check Creative Cloud to see if you have the latest update.

These new masks are awsome. I knew how to use a lot of them, but this tutorial has filled in the gaps. They make so much difference to my photos.

Maybe you don't use luminance and color range much but I use them all the time.
