I'm thoroughly enjoying this. Great insight from both. I liked the comments about America going through different stages of grief after the breakup, I'm sure it was very true. As a young kid I LOVED their films and didn't understand that they'd been long broken up. I felt the same way as America must have felt when I learned they no longer worked together. I had always held out hope they'd patch things up and do at least a few films together again. But realistically, that time had passed in their careers and it wouldn't have been the same.
I really enjoyed this interview and I know I'm going to enjoy the new M&L book as I am M&L fan and I really enjoyed seeing Rick Greene's M&L collection. I can't wait to get Mr. Greene's new book as a matter of fact I'm going to order the book from one of the links above.
Glad to hear that!!
I have since gotten Rick Greene's book (I listened to this Podcast before and decided to listen again but now listening via my "other" channel here lol) It is a really good book about the marketing of Martin & Lewis and it is now among my favorites in my collection. I'm looking forward to his upcoming book on Abbott & Costello and then he's doing one on Laurel & Hardy all my favorite comedy teams. I'll be getting and reading and savoring them all.
Excellent! I'm glad you enjoy these podcast episodes. Rick is hard at work on his Laurel and Hardy book already. I'll be sure to do another special with him for that. :)
Thanks guys very interesting. Great to see so much love for the boys!
Glad you enjoyed it!
So fun. We talked for over two hours and it felt like 20 minutes!

Finally got a chance to view this interview. Well done Kat & Rick. Always fun to learn a little bit more about Martin and Lewis. So much of that material you showed I once owned a copy of. I still have a few boxes of JL or M&L magazines and posters. Although much has been sold off via Ebay over the years. My absolute favorite memorabilia would have to be some proof sheets from Nutty Prof. and a few of Jerrys notes he wrote down in 1977/78. When I was given the incredible assignment of photographing him during his weekend stays in San Francisco, for MDAA activities. I've shared a few of the photo's I took of him on Facebook JL pages. Today Ricks book arrived. And the pictures on the pages came out great! I noticed they really did use up all of the real estate on the page to give the reader a good look at the photo, press book, advertisement , etc. I appreciate that. The book is so visual, that alone will make it stand out. Plus the extraordinary research Rick has done, is so well delivered in his unique style of writing. Good work you world class Martin & Lewis fans.
