If you want the true experience like I had back when I was a kid then yes I agree 100% but these new converters do a OK job unfortunately trying to find a good CRT is hard these days. something like the ride 2X. Or a cheap HDMI converter it’s not a bad idea. This Hyperkin one is not bad at all or get some one to mod the console to HDMI but me personally don’t want to hard mod my console I like to keep them original
That’s not true. I play on a Triple Bypass Genesis 1 connected to a 4K TV using a RetroTINK 4K and high-quality SCART cables, and I can confidently say my Genesis has never looked better. With the enhanced RGB video output and a high-end upscaler, the visuals are sharper and cleaner than ever. Plus, I can even simulate the scanlines, modulation, and other nuances of a CRT-all with zero lag or signal loss. Now, I understand that playing retro consoles on modern TVs with cheap converters can be a nightmare-most of them perform terribly. However, if you’d rather avoid the hassle of tracking down a CRT and finding space for it, there are excellent (albeit pricey) solutions that deliver results just as good as, if not better than, a CRT. These setups allow you to integrate your retro consoles seamlessly alongside your modern ones, combining convenience with top-tier quality.
To play older systems now, you need an AV to HDMI converter, or a TV that still takes AV/Composite. Those of us who are in our 20s now have a hard time finding good CRTs, and I still hold it against my grandparents for them getting rid of their last CRT TV.
I’m in my 40s and CRTs you still can’t find at Goodwill but to find ones that have multi connections are hard sometimes but a good splitter works too. Don’t blame your grandparents for that. The hyperkin hdmi cable works great for the saga and I even have one for an N64. That’s a plug-in play.
You cant play these old consoles on newer tvs you need a tube tv to play sega and nintendo consoles.
