people who say MSI doesn't matter must not like NA. Literally one of the few times NA has been to an international finals. Even doublelift undermined his own achievement.
I think current MSI is definitely a tournament, but let's not put it on the same pedestal as worlds, in any aspect, and I hope Dom isn't doing that as some sprt of coping mechanism

MSI literally stands for mid-season INVITATIONAL. that's why it isn't taken seriously, it's supposed to be a fun break event, they want to invite popular players & teams to play for showmanship for the love of fans. Pro players need to realize not every event is about you being #1 at a video game, it's okay to remember this is a game that most people only play for fun.

If they had the fucking balls to hold themselves accountable for their shit plays and had the FUCKING PRIDE TO DECIDE THAT THEY WONT LET THEIR TEAM DOWN AGAIN. Play at your best so that you never say that you didn't do all that you could to win. That will transform them from players just getting a paycheck, to the legends we all wish we could say were from NA.

Hot take: MSI shows which team is the most cohesive and best mechanically in the world.
Worlds shows who is the best coached and who can adapt to the patch the best.
It can literally go either way it's all based on the meta and patch at any given tournament no? Like the MMA analogy. The most "complete" fighter should always win.
A "complete" league team should always be able to play a cohesive game in any given patch/meta. And have their mechanics to fall back on/relay upon.
But does MSI give you a skin tho?
Now that i think about why doesn't Riot make MSI skins for teams? I imagine that it would sell well, especially since teams that win MSI don't usually tend to win Worlds. They could hit that team's fan market and milk more money from us. If I was an RNG fan, I would love some skins and same for like G2.

Maybe a better solution would be MSI chromas or something, that show the teams colour scheme or something along those lines
msi itself gets a skin like how worlds does. and what i mean by that is azir 2020 or championship riven etc. msi varus has one for conquerer 2018 msi

There being MSI skins does not take away from the skins for Worlds at all since they would be for completely different tournaments, and with a completely different name. A potential MSI G2 Leblanc skin would not take away from a Worlds T1 Orianna skin. Just like how the MSI challenger skin existing does not devalue Worlds Azir or whatever. And also how would it devalue the competition? Teams aren’t playing for skins, they’re playing for the trophy. It’s just a bonus.
It will be so funny if T1 win MSI because you just know T1 fans will brag about it and instantly drop their cope about "only worlds matters", something they obviously never believed.

The guy saying only worlds matters because of the skins has never done anything competitive. Actual competitors, even on lower local levels, only care about their performance and winning. The money and all is really nice obviously but the win is bigger then the skin.
MSI does matter but I get why people say it doesn't, just because the wins themselves aren't remembered by the majority of people. Like does anyone remember MSI winners/matches outside of the "TL beat IG" MSI win? Not really.

Nah International titles are way important than local leagues. Example is Doublelift and Bjersen 80% of the total trophies of the LCS are in their cabinets but they are still called as chokers. While players like Xiaohu are considered a world class champion because he was part of the Kings of MSi in RNG.

Like, he missed a J4 EQ over the wall at the Herald fight, so he died. He missed his J4 combo onto Rumble when trying to gank top. The absolute int flash ult onto Varus trying to dodge Varus ult instead of just Flashing away. In Game 2, he gave Impact a way to escape with K'Sante ult and died. The Viego ult into 3 people, putting himself too far away from the rest of his team and thus dying. Not to mention the useless ass Viego build.
