Somehow the fact that the guy is having a beer after the ride gives me confidence on the opinion on the dirt bike
It’s Coors Light so I wouldn’t be so sure…….
At least the silver can wasn’t a Diet Coke 😂
Great Video. I want one.
We will wait for the test by putting the parts and accessories that you have on the 450. so that it is a more even comparison. Best regards from Guadalajara Mexico 🔥.
Drinking a beer doing the review. He is alright in my book. You never see anybody doing that.Keep up the good work
We do it right 🍻
Coors light. Good man :)
😂
Pretty cool
You mentioned that you knew how to fix the short overall feel of the motorcycle /twitchiness of the front end…..can you elaborate on the modifications that you perform to lessen/fix this trait?
Check out our video on our 2023 KTM 450 XC-F. But we run 23.5mm offset clamps from ride engineering, works chassis lab engine mounts, flush forks (and the air forks on the 2023 are +10mm longer than the spring forks on this model), among other changes.
Just a thought. Since most off road riders are probably closer to 200 pounds and not 150 pounds, and since everyone gets the suspension sprung and revalved anyway, does it not make sense to have these bikes come with stiffer settings to accommodate the avg rider? I would think this would be a sales boost.
The average adult male in the USA is 5'9" and 175lbs. So it would be interesting to know if bikes are sprung differently depending on what continent they are shipped to.
In talking with KTM and WP, their philosphy (and one we don't disagree with) is it's easier for a heavier/faster rider to ride a soft bike than it is for a smaller/slower rider to ride a stiff bike. So, they lean on the side of being soft vs stiff
@Dirtbiketest what’s the front end twitchyness fix you referenced in the video?
How does it compare to the Kawi 450x?
A little surprised that video includes little comment on air forks vs new XCF spring forks. Besides being a little soft for your weight/speed, how were the spring forks (esp compared to the 250 SX air forks) ?
It varies on rider preference which fork is liked better, but the forks are good. We’ve written about it more on DirtBikeTest.com if you search under 2024 KTM tests. We’ll dive deeper into it in the full bike test on this bike
Hey, guys...🙋♂️
Thanks for the review. Can you tell me what rear sprocket you guys were running?
Stock 47T
Where is the review on the AT82 that you mentioned?
It’s up on DirtBikeTest.com. We’ll have a more in depth one later on once we get more time on it
Lol, the guy on the right looks like a statue modeling those sunglasses 😅
Are you guys using the stock sprockets ? Or did you change change either one?
The only mods to this bike were stiffer fork/shock springs to accomodate for weight (stock valving), forks lowered to flush, AT82 tires with Nitro Mousses, IMS dry-break tank, and a tall seat from Seat Concepts. Everything else was stock
How is this for a beginner? First bike. 45y and want to putt around.
We'd say this bike is a bit aggressive for a beginner rider
@@DirtBikeTest Thanks, It’s too late though. Just bought, will try to soften it up somehow until I get adjusted.
Little
Late to the party.. Crazy… why have a test video on a bike that came out just about 1 year ago when the 25’s are already changed and announced.
added..... girth? 😅😂🤣
Good review! Enjoyed that. What year was the FC250 that was unimpressive?
2022 FC250
