What a beautiful wrap up video. We appreciate you sharing all the feels today. “Trail life is the best life! (But it’s hard)” would make a great T shirt! I’ll miss having lunch with you every day since you & RR headed to the southern border. I’m sure we all want to see your reunion with your dog!
I think it’s totally cool that it snowed at the end I have to be honest! I think you do too! What a great journey and thank you so much for letting us come along with you! ♥️
I was born and raised in America. I've lived in rural Japan for 38 years. I'm part of both, but belong to neither. Being a "walker" is similar. You have a foot in both worlds -- the world of the thru-hiking "walker," and the world of hearth, home, and comfort. The challenge is how to find the bridge between those two worlds. How can you be that bridge? The universe is always right on time; so are you. In good time, you will discover the way. Thank you, Chap, for letting us tag along. You are amazing! You are a "walker." Wherever the trail of life may lead, please -- Be safe; keep at it!
You did a fantastic job completing the PCT and I enjoyed hearing your raw emotions over these last two videos. As for me, I've been following PCT thru hikers for several years now ever since discovering Dixie when she did it after she completed the AT. But I think I, too, am finished with watching PCT hikers every year, I've seen enough. But I will continue my own treks in the Sierra. Best wishes on your future endeavors.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and emotions on hiking the PCT. I've enjoyed watching the beautiful views. Mountains ⛰ are saying Goodbye Chap with snow flakes confetti!! 🎉😅
This was just amazing! I watched the whole journey and loved it for a bunch of reasons. I’ve done the JMT twice and did Yosemite into Desolation and can’t rap my mind around how hard what you did is. Just mind boggling and incredibly inspiring. To me you seemed so upbeat in the face of such adversity and uncertainty, and a whole lot of Type 2 and some definiate type 3 fun. Always up to appreciate the beauty, even after all those hot and not so scenic miles in northern CA. I’m definitely going to watch your AT adventure. Thank you and good luck
Congrats! I watched the whole series in a few days. I want to do the PCT one day, I’ve trekked in Patagonia years ago and done lots of hard trail races running. I’ll probably have to retire first, thinking within 5 years. It looks like you avoided most of the drama and it’s good to see it’s not all young people. I hope you’re adjusting back to the matrix
For me and many others I’m sure, When trail life is so minimal it certainly makes things simpler in many ways which in turn gives me the peace and serenity I crave. Sending you lots of good juju Chap. What you have shared..Your positivity, vulnerability and your epic video skills have really given us such a beautiful look into the PCT. Thanks for being a good human. ☮️
Chap it absolutely has been a pleasure following your PCT Hike. This emotional end it totally appropriate. 😊 look forward to seeing you again in life . Everette is a strange town.
Thank you for making all of these videos. I loved them...I finished the PcT on Sept 4th after section hiking it over 3 years...congrats on your continuous foot path completion. Great job
Congratulations, again!! You did it!! "So conflicted." Thanks for sharing your emotions. And thanks for bringing us along. You made it to a dry, warm room. Rest tonight.
Snow-confetti! So cool!!! Huge congratulations!!! Thank you for sharing your feelings about reaching the end of your PCT journey. What an amazing accomplishment! Your dog is going to be so happy to see you again :)
Congratulations on a great hike, I've been following you the whole way. I got emotional as well about leaving the trail, it feels like you're leaving a relationship that you don't want to leave but you know you have to. Also Feels like a sailor getting on a ship and saying good bye to his lover, thanks for the memories and welcome back to the MATRIX 👤😊
Great videos and Dialogue...I'm going to back track and watch your AT journey....and like the song says.. I don't wanna act high and mighty because tomorrow I may fall down on my face...Lord, I thank you for Sunshine .. I thank you for rain .. I thank you for Joy, I thank you for Pain ... It's a Beautiful Day Ay Ay Ay .. It's a Beautiful Day .... Thank You Chap for soooo many Beautiful Days...
I will miss your adventures. I've been watching several different people's blogs on ovt. Of all I have enjoyed yours the most. Creat content and true emotion. Blessings Friend. You sis it!!!🎉🎉🎉
What an ending! Snow, hitching rides; wait, where is the next water source? Oh, don't need to worry about that! Can't wait for firsthand account of the entire journey. Maybe around deer campfire! Way to go!!
Chap, I enjoyed a “real deal” journey with you! You are a straight shooter who didn’t hesitate to share very personal thoughts. Congratulations on your accomplishment and I wish continued success whether on the trail or any other sector of life! One Track
One more congratulations is in order!!! Looking forward to hearing about readjusting to “real life”because that’s the thing that I want to know about the most when I consider long long treks. It has truly been a pleasure like I said before, I was so emotional watching this because it’s just so inspiring and you were feeling the feels. BUT… This video also made me realize you may just feel the need for the triple crown sooner than later, so really it feels like “good bye for now” daily uploads 😬
Congratulations on finishing and it's been a great ride along! I have followed along on PCT and the AT with you. I feel like I need a title too.. a Vicarious Multi Through Hiker? Seriously thanks for letting us tag along.😊
Firstly congrats and thank you for your contribution to the hiking community! My question is: how bad are the blow downs around snoqualmie pass this year and where? Id like to volunteer first, before my '25 thru hike by maybe clearing some trail. Cheers!
Congratulations on finishing your hike . As I already said to roadrunner, I've lost track while watching the political BS and have a lot of catching up to do. I'm glad I have you on my subscribe list .
Great job, happy and proud! I would love it if you could do a gear shakedown and review of what held up and what had been discarded. Also wondered, did you ever encounter so much fog that it obliterated the trail entirely? I'd love to see a short vid or a picture of u with your dog! He/she will be so happy! Take are and look forward to u vlogging the CDT!
Opposite! You can smell perfume and laundry detergent from a mile away in the backcountry. You can rarely smell a thru hiker until you’re 10 feet away.
It seems a bit anti-climactic to end your thru hike alone. 5 months ago you had Hammer, Fireball and Roadrunner with you. Now it’s just you. I would have thought you’d all be together at the end to take a group photo at the Terminus. It seems a pity that that didn’t happen. I suppose it’s a metaphor for life, you “start” alone and you “finish” alone. If there’s an upside it’s that it will probably make you appreciate your real home and family more.

That’s a great way to look at it as nature’s confetti for your big finish. This is awesome. Wishing you all the best. From “Bill Nyes” aunt!

One Track
I love the confetti for your finish!! Congrats on another thru hike!

One more congratulations is in order!!!

Virtual Thru Hiker?
Firstly congrats and thank you for your contribution to the hiking community! My question is: how bad are the blow downs around snoqualmie pass this year and where? Id like to volunteer first, before my '25 thru hike by maybe clearing some trail. Cheers!
I don’t really remember there being many blowdowns in OR or WA.
It would be fun to see a video of what it was like when you got home
Awesome Chap. Safe travels home.
Love the silver lining view, snow is my confetti! 🎉
Thanks for sharing your hike.
Don’t be too long gone😊
Congratulations on finishing your hike . As I already said to roadrunner, I've lost track while watching the political BS and have a lot of catching up to do. I'm glad I have you on my subscribe list .
Congratulations awesome
Congratulations!
PCT 2027 Here I Come Lord Willing. Wish you the best in all you do.
Good luck!
Thank you if you make it to Ohio by the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio. Look me up.
“The Walkers…”. I love that
Great job, happy and proud! I would love it if you could do a gear shakedown and review of what held up and what had been discarded. Also wondered, did you ever encounter so much fog that it obliterated the trail entirely? I'd love to see a short vid or a picture of u with your dog! He/she will be so happy!

The gear video will be live Monday!
Looking forward to it!
Loved your video - by the way what date did you start ? Amazing adventure- enjoy your time off trail it’s inevitable until the next journey comes !🥰
4/2
Many thanks - I hope to do the pct 2025. To start in April
Congrats Chap!!!
Nice work and great videos
Well done
Good job sir! Hike well done 👍 💪🥾⛰️
Congratulations! - PCT CLASS of 2024 - Did you experience same emotions on completing the AT? Awesome hike!
Many more emotions on the AT.
Congrats! I watched you the whole way. I’m so happy you get to go home and see your dog. I’m wondering if you have plans to make up missed miles?
Some of the miles I missed are still closed.
You did well...❤
CDT, 2025, LETS GO!
🙌🏻👊🏻💪🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Keep us informed with what your up too.
Could you break down the cost of the trail in a video, highs lows ect. Thx
Total cost was around 15k. I didn’t track individual costs enough to provide a detailed breakdown.
FIRST for the LAST !
Day hikers- ya can’t smell them a mile away like you can a thru-hiker!😂
Opposite! You can smell perfume and laundry detergent from a mile away in the backcountry. You can rarely smell a thru hiker until you’re 10 feet away.
Ha ha! Pretty true! I can never figure out why people are wearing perfume and cologne when they’re hiking! It’s disgusting!
I feel the opposite. Ending alone allows one to fully experience the emotions without distractions.
Why do people even backpack?
Unable to watch anymore of your videos without 10 15 minutes commercials
THANK YOU!! 🎉🎉🎉 congrats once again!! I'm still here for new adventures. (Now I'll go back and watch you from beginning where I missed. ) 😁💜✌️🏞🌲🥾
