In the summer I also wear Dityque's Tam Dao, L'Artisan's Timbuktu, Guerlain's Encens Mythique and Nicolai's Cap Neroli - the latter two being heavier than the former two. If you ever run out of ideas for another top 10 list then I'd love you to do a top 10 Sandalwood list - I think someone else also mentioned in the comments of another video.
Just rewatching this one and, not sure if you’ve seen Mr P, but Micheal Edwards’ WikiParfum credits Frank Vöelkl for Lethe. I remember from your interview with Mr Edwards that in his books, he doesn’t write about perfumes that don’t give credits to the perfumers, so i suspect he uses the same approach for WP. Happy Tuesday!
I smelled dans le bleu qui petille and I immediately visualised the foggy freezing early morning air by a still winter sea, the soft smell of incense coming from a distant forest. It was poetic, beautiful, cold, cloudy blue and calm, meditative and spiritual. It still remains so vividly stuck in my mind. Thank you for another great video 🌱
I have been on a road trip to the Mid-West with a friend to visit her sisters and am glad to be back home to watch your video. Aside from the couple of perfumes I brought with me for the trip, I have been away from the perfume world for over eight days and am glad to be back. Thanks for this summer scents video.
I just did a blind buy of the Harvest Guerlain suggestion due to your recommendation. I am looking forward to its arrival. I love a good honey note. Thank you for the review.
Just got back from a business trip to Dubai (not as big a fan as you are but nothing beats childhood memories, so understandable), and would imagine Gallery Lafayette in Dubai mall probably has every perfume under the blue sky, or taupe sky since we are talking Dubai!!! YES, top ten movies and corresponding scents is a brilliant idea. Thank you!
Wonderful list; En Passant is on my very long "to buy" list. It winter here in New Zealand but I can still remember what I reached for the most over summer: Eau Dynamisante (always and forever), Diptyque Geranium Odorata and Eau des Sens, Hermès Un Jardin Sur La Lagune and Matiere Premiere Neroli Oranger.
I went to Whole Foods this evening and the only fragrance I noticed on the men there was B.O. 🤣 I have and love En Passant but I seldom wear it. The one that hits me in the feels right now is Phlur’s Missing Person. I wear it every evening when I’m relaxing at home.
Adding my vote for Les Indemodables Escale en Indonesie. It can almost quench your thirst it’s so refreshing. At the same time, it has a pleasant weirdness, some smudgy sea element (the ambergris?) that keeps you coming back, like there’s a mystery to solve. Thank you for your wonderful work once again.
It’s winter with me (NZ) I am looking forward to wearing L’Artisan’s Al Oudh (that fleshy, cuminy goodness really comes to life in the heat - veil like layers❤️); Lutens L’Eau Froide; TF Soleil Blanc; TF Rose D’Amalfi and Amouage Beach Hut Woman (so many I could choose including Ubar and Guidance) …. I hanker for whatever season we are not in. Currently obsessed with Myths Woman right now.
most of my perfume are regarded as spring summer perfume as I cannot stand strong perfume with spices perhaps that's very Asian as I can tell many Asian prefer light and fresh scent than sweet ones. in fact, I do like your recommendations and ordered some samples based on your list provided unfortunately, not all of them have samples and some of them are not available to ship to Australia I did order the aussie one you recommended and yes, I never heard of it but I'd like to try. love your taste. BTW, I am a new follower from Australia
Oh, my! Are the comments about the Men’s Fragrance section at Sephora pretty universal? Here in Vegas, the men’s section looks like an abandoned old western saloon bar with a handful of bottles and the rest are missing. It’s quite pitiful! 😅 This summer I’ll probably be enjoying Qi from Ormonde Jayne a lot and Pourpre d’Autumne from Maison Violet (my version of your En Passant). Thanks for the list, Mr. P!
I also love Olivia Giacobetti’s work, she’s very talented. I’m curious about Jo Malone’s brand Jo Loves, would love to see you review some of her fragrances. I never see them in the US, unfortunately.
It's great to hear someone mention Angelique, I think that was my most worn perfume this spring. As the weather has gotten hotter these past few weeks though, I've been reaching for my white florals a lot, with Hiram Green's Moon Bloom being my top pick.
@@Persolaise I find it really, for lack of a better word "blooms" when it's hot (for the UK at least!) and humid out, like it mixes just right with the air and never feels too heavy or choking for me - although I'm not a heavy sprayer in general.
I'm enjoying these on rotation for early summer, You Or Someone Like You ELDO, Gdańsk by Gallivant, Calme & Volupte by Godet and Aqua Allegoria Forte Mandarine Basilic by Guerlain. xx
I recently bought Aqua di Parma Fico do Amalfi and I'm enjoying it very much such an awesome smell, tx for another nice video ❤ I also ordered a sample of Bergamotto do Calabria so I'm looking forward to trying that one 😂
Great video! Lethe and En Passant I am wearing alot lately! I got the chance to put my nose on some IUNX fragrances early this year, and they are quite lovely! 😊
I've been wearing Shalimar since 1967. I never tire of it's beautiful fragrance and believe me, the heads turn when I walk by.I pray Gurlain will always make this legendary Parfum...and yes I guess I'm an old lady now but have been wearing it since my teens. Now...if if they'll only bring 'Lagerfeld' back. Sigh.
@@Persolaise Lagerfeld for men was absolutely divine. Why was it discontinued? It should have become a classic forever fragrance. Men are still talking about it to this day. They called it a 'chick magnet';).
Rose de Jamal is on my wish list, but I am hesitating, cuz what I realy love is the drydown on fabric, yet the opening and mid are a bit to woody for me. It keeps me intrigued but I am wondrring if there is something else that is similar to Rose de Jamals drydown?
A great perfume chat indeed! I’m also wearing Amouage Lineage today but my favorites from the Odyssey collection are Guidance and Search. Regarding Papillon, I still love Salome ❤
@@Persolaise Search is certainly full bottle worthy! The trail throughout the day is magnificent. I can’t get over the base of Guidance with the Vanilla, Sandalwood and Ambergris- mesmerizing
Hi Persolaise, I love wisteria and I 'd love to have a perfume with this note for summer but I can' t find anything..... Do you know why there are so few fragrances with wisteria? the essence Is difficult/impossible to extract or there are other reasons?
No i think the Oprah comment girl meant do it like Oprah as in ….”you get a perfume and you get a perfume and you get a perfume “ and everyone looks under their seat and they get something FREE!! Woooo
I often comment as I go, so I'm at the Dans Le Bleu Qui Petille portion of this week's masterpiece video. Can I say something infuriatingly pedantic? Yes? Ok, thank you. This does not translate to "In The Sparkling Blue" (Le Blue Pétillant) as one commenter noted, but to the slightly divergent "In The Blue Which Sparkles". When it comes to Lutens, the choice of words is crucial to the scent story. The former describes a constant, the latter an occasional sparkling - an undulation as of sea waves rather than a fizzing lake of lava. Haha. God I'm such a language Nazi.
For summer, I’m excited about wearing le Galion Sortilege (have both the original and the reformulation) can’t decide if this counts as a sincere scent..
Can’t forget PDNicolai’s Cap Neroli! A sublime summer scent😊
Yes -- totally agree.

Ah yes, I really should do sandalwood soon. Thanks.
En Passant is the most perfect lilac scent I ever smelled in a perfum. My absolute favourite spring fragrance!😍
It is utterly gorgeous.

En Passant and Lethe! Just as magical as they are sincere. Maybe that’s why they are always welcome, never tiring?
Yes, you may well be right.
Great selection! My favourite its a cheapie masterpiece: A scent by Issey Miyake
Ah yes! And I think A Drop is underrated too.

Papillon’ s Angelique is one of my very favorite’s from this brand, and you are right that it does not get the love it deserves.
Yes, it’s a highly sophisticated piece of work.
