JR中央本線と京王線の並走区間を走る列車の走行シーン集です。中央本線は高尾駅より先、山の中に入り、車両は国鉄型の211系と東京直通のE233系0番台となります。
京王線は高尾駅から先の山の中の区間は単線となり、高尾山口駅まで向かいます。平日朝の京王高尾線では、都営新宿線の10-300形電車が高尾山口まで走行します。
高尾駅の山寄りのところは、この動画のようにJR中央本線と京王線が並走（複々線風?）した形となっています。通常ライバルと言われている中央線と京王線が並走しているのだけでも見どころですが、中央線の方は211系が使用される甲府、長野方面の電車となり、京王線も都心では過密ダイヤで知られている一方で、この区間ではなんと単線！ になってます。
この動画は列車の本数が多い平日朝の風景であり、JR中央本線では東京直通のE233系0番台が多く見られ、京王線では、都営新宿線の10-300形が高尾山口まで乗り入れる為、なんと都営地下鉄の車両も見ることができる、かなり穴場的な面白い場所でもあります！
